5 GENERAL PHILOSOPHY Specialized in providing fasteners to industrial markets, INTERMETAL is able to meet any kindof requirement, from both a commercial or a technical point of view. All of our products are according to existing standards ( ISO NF DIN UNI JIS or else )or are made according to customers specifications. For a certain number of users who work on assembly lines, we maintain special and exclusive stocks in order to ensure just in time service. The quantities we keep in stock are based on real consumption and are progressive or fixed based on the users needs. All the parts we deliver are strictly controlled and then packaged and labelled as requested for immediate delivery on the assembly line. Computerized labelling 5

7 INTERMETAL was certified ISO 9002 in July 1995 by TÜV. This certification enabled us to create an organization including all of the departments of the company. Today, all of the factories who produce for us are either certified ISO 9001 v.2000 or audited and recognized to have the quality level required. Every customer can receive a copy of our quality manual upon request.. In September 2000, INTERMETAL achieved QS 9000 certification Which is the quality standard for the American automotive industry (Ford, General Motors and Chrysler). INTERMETAL is the only French trader certified under this referential. Furthermore, INTERMETAL s quality system is conform to ISO/TS : 2002 For development;, commercialization and logistics activities. 7

22 QUALITY MANAGEMENT ISO 9002-QS 9000 certified, INTERMETAL looks after the strict application of inspections procedures of the parts manufactured on its behalf. Moreover our quality management system, meets the requirement of the TS standard for automotive industry. Quality laboratory Computerized metrological control All inspected samples from all incoming products are recorded and kept for a period of 3 years. 22

23 The fasteners, in a guaranteed steel quality grade, are tested in an independant laboratory, certified COFRAC. A test report certifies the characteristics corresponding to ISO and ISO standards for traceability number. 24 As part of QS 9000 certification, we are able to supply, for each item, a complete P.P.A.P. spectrograph (MECACEM) allowing to analyse all the metal components. Special tests : breaking torque check for chipboard screws Penetration speed test for drywall screw. It is a test which consists in drilling our srews through a 0.8 mm thick steel sheet. 95 % of the tested lot must penetrate the sheet within 1 second.
