5 1 About Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix The Dell Appliance for Wyse - Citrix is a virtualization appliance consisting of a Dell PowerEdge server, Microsoft Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V hypervisor, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop 7.x virtualization software, and Dell Quick Start Tool for simplifying and accelerating the deployment process. The Quick Start Tool can perform deployments that will deliver application virtualization (published applications), shared session desktops, or full desktop virtualization. The appliance is available in a rack form factor option based on the Dell PowerEdge R730 with Small and Large hardware configurations. The small appliances are configured with reduced hardware components for initial lower cost and are ideal for pilot projects, smaller density deployments, and for use as a dedicated management node in a scaled-out deployment. This document provides the necessary tasks to setup and configure the Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix. Warranty information may be included with this document or as a separate document. 2.1 Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix documentation Documentation for deploying and using the Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix is available at Dell.com/WyseAppliance. This page can also be accessed by double-clicking the TechCenter Dell Wyse Appliance desktop shortcut after logging in to the appliance. 2.2 Dell hardware documentation Dell hardware documentation is included with your shipment and available on the Dell website at support.dell.com. To access the documentation: 1. On the Dell Support page, click Product Support, and then click Browse for a product. 2. Click the Servers, Storage & Networking link, click PowerEdge, and then click your server model. NOTE: Alternately, the appliance s Service Tag number can be entered on the support page for accessing the documentation. 7 3 Licensing overview 3.1 Receiving licenses Your Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop license will be ed to you after your order is fulfilled. Also, you will also receive the following license keys: Microsoft SQL Server 2014: License key found on media included in the appliance box Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Virtual Machine Manager: Information will be ed The license key for the Windows operating system (OS) will be on a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) label attached to your appliance. If your appliance is the Dell PowerEdge R730 server, the COA label can be found on top of the appliance as shown in the image here. Figure 2 COA label location for R730 NOTE: Your appliance may arrive with downgrade media and documentation for Microsoft Windows Server and/or Microsoft SQL Server. This is typically included with the purchase of those products but will not be used by the appliance. 3.2 Installing licenses The Quick Start Tool for Dell Appliance for Wyse will prompt you for all necessary software license files or keys and will install them during deployment. Refer to the Deploying Your Appliance section in this guide for more information about the Quick Start Tool. If an issue occurs during deployment and you need to install the Citrix license file manually, do the following: 1. Log in to your broker management VM (created during deployment). 2. Start Citrix Studio. 3. In the navigation pane, select Configuration, and then click Licensing. 4. In the Actions section, select Allocate Licenses. 5. Enter the License Access Code sent in the license from Citrix. 6. Select XenApp/XenDesktop and click Allocate Licenses. 8 3.3 Virtual desktop OS license and activation When performing a full desktop virtualization (VDI desktops) deployment, the Quick Start Tool will prompt you for the Microsoft Windows desktop operating system installation media and product key. You must use a volume license key and Pro/Enterprise version of Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10. An OEM license cannot be used for the desktops. The desktop operating system must be activated on each virtual desktop that is deployed. Microsoft allows for activating volume license products via Key Management Service (KMS), Multiple Activation Key (MAK), and Active Directory-based Activation (for newer products only). Dell recommends using KMS or Active Directory-based Activation (if applicable for your environment). When using one of these volume activation models, specify a Generic Volume License Key (GVLK) for your desktop OS product key. The GVLKs are also referred to as KMS Client Setup Keys and are posted online by Microsoft. Setting up volume activation is beyond the scope of this document. NOTE: The Quick Start Tool only supports the installation of Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 for the desktop template at this time. To create templates using a different desktop OS, allow the tool to complete the deployment using one of the supported operating systems and then refer to the Virtualization software documentation for information on manually creating a template VM with the OS of your choice. 3.4 Activating RDS license server and CALs This section only applies when deploying application virtualization or shared session desktops. In this configuration, the broker management VM is configured as the RDS license server and the Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) VMs are associated with this server for client access licensing purposes. The license server must be activated and the appropriate number of RD client access licenses (CALs) must be installed. If your Microsoft volume license agreement does not allow for the necessary RD CALs, they must be purchased with your appliance. To activate the RDS license server and install the RD CALs, perform the following tasks: 1. Log in to your broker management VM (created during deployment). Refer to the Default Names and Credentials section in this document for the default name of the broker management VM. 2. Launch Server Manager and click Tools > Terminal Services > Remote Desktop Licensing Manager. 3. Right-click the broker management VM name and select Activate Server. 4. Click Next on the welcome screen. 5. Ensure the connection method is set to Automatic and click Next. 6. Fill in the requested company information and click Next. 7. Fill in the optional information and click Next. 8. The status should indicate that the server was successfully activated. 8 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

9 9. To install the RD CALs, check the Start Install Licenses Wizard now box and click Next. Alternately, the wizard can also be accessed by right-clicking the broker management VM name and selecting Install Licenses. 10. On the Welcome to the Install Licenses Wizard screen, click Next to continue. 11. From the License program dropdown, choose the licensing program that your organization uses for purchasing Microsoft licenses and click Next. 12. Enter the requested information for your license program and click Next. 13. If prompted for Product Version and License Type, specify Windows Server 2012 as the product version and the appropriate RDS license type. Enter the license quantity purchased and click Next. 14. 10 4 Deploying your appliance 4.1 Prerequisites Before you begin, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled: 1. Ensure the hard disk drives, power supply units (PSUs), and fan components are properly seated and have not become dislodged and/or damaged during shipping. 2. Install the appliance in a rack. A compatible rack and a rack installation kit is required. For information, see the Rack Installation and Cable Management Arm Installation documents. 3. An enterprise/datacenter class network switch that supports a minimum connection speed of 1 Gb must be available to connect the appliance. Refer to the Cabling Your Appliance section in this guide for details about connecting your network cables. 4. Connect a monitor, mouse, and keyboard to your appliance. Alternatively, you can connect a KVM (not included) to the appliance or use the idrac for remotely accessing. Refer to your Dell PowerEdge Owner s Manual for information about using idrac. 5. Do NOT connect a USB drive to the appliance as it may impact the initial deployment. 6. The virtualization software requires Active Directory (AD) in order to install properly. Your appliance must be connected to and be a member in an AD network. 7. Domain administrator credentials are required by the Quick Start Tool. 8. Determine the following IP address information used by the appliance components: a. Appliance IP address (for the OS in the parent partition running directly on the appliance) b. Broker Management VM IP address (the broker software will be installed to this VM and this IP address will be used to connect to your desktops) c. SQL VM IP address (Microsoft SQL Server database software will be installed to this VM) d. Subnet mask used by your local network e. Gateway address used by your local network f. Primary DNS server IP address used by your local network g. Secondary DNS server IP address used by your local network (optional) 9. All required software license files/keys. Refer to the Licensing Overview section for more information. 10. Access to the installation files for the applications you want to use in your virtual desktops. 11. For traditional desktop virtualization (not shared session desktops): a. Access to your Microsoft Windows desktop OS installation media/files and volume license key. b. CPU and memory requirements for your virtual desktops. The Quick Start Tool will provide three options for CPU and memory profiles. 12. Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager must be downloaded to the appliance (download info will be sent via ). 13. Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (Windows ADK) for Windows 8.1 must be downloaded to the appliance. 14. 11 4.2 Cabling your appliance By default, appliances are sold with network cards that contain two 10Gb ports + two 1Gb ports. The two 10Gb ports should be connected, teamed, and used for your virtualization environment. Figure 3 Dell PowerEdge R730 network cabling The blue lines (connections) represent the production network ports used by the appliance and virtual machines (VMs). The orange line (connection) represents the idrac connection for remote management of your system. NOTE: At least one of the 10Gb network ports must be connected for the appliance to function. Dell recommends that you connect both 10Gb network ports to achieve the best performance. If you ve ordered additional 10Gb network cards, they can be added to a single team. 4.3 First boot experience After the prerequisites are fulfilled and your appliance is correctly cabled, turn on the appliance to perform the first boot tasks: 1. Select the necessary language for the Windows OS and then specify your country, application language, and keyboard layout. 2. Accept the Microsoft EULA for the Windows OS. 3. Enter a password for the local administrator account. 4. Log in to the appliance by using the local administrator account and click OK after reading the notification message. 4.4 Creating a network team and virtual switch An external Hyper-V virtual switch much be created for the appliance to function properly. The recommended network connection for the switch is a NIC team. For those that want to configure these components manually, they should be configured along with a static IP address prior to executing the Quick Start Tool. If they are not configured, the QST will automatically attempt to create them. If manually creating, the recommended settings are listed below. 11 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

12 Network team settings: Name: NetworkTeam Member adapters: 10Gbps ports Teaming mode: Switch independent Load balancing mode: Dynamic Standby adapter: None (all adapters Active) Hyper-V virtual switch settings: External network connection type using previously created/selected network team Management OS sharing network adapter Name must be set as vswitch in order for the QST to detect it NOTE: The QST will automatically attempt to create these components if none are detected. 4.5 Joining appliance to Active Directory Your appliance must be a member of an Active Directory domain to function correctly and for deployment to complete successfully. Before proceeding with deployment and configuration, make your appliance a member of your Active Directory domain by modifying the server System Properties. NOTE: The Quick Start Tool for your appliance uses Windows PowerShell and makes system changes which can both be impacted by Group Policy Settings. Dell highly recommends temporarily preventing group policies from being applied to the appliance while the Quick Start Tool is performing the deployment. To prevent group policies from being applied during deployment, move the appliance computer account to an Organizational Unit in AD that has group policy inheritance blocked or by security filters on individual Group Policy Objects. To avoid policies from applying to the virtual machines that will be created during deployment, create computer accounts in the same OU before launching the Quick Start Tool refer to the Default Names and Credentials section for the computer names that will be used. This is accomplished by right-clicking the OU and selecting New Computer. After deployment, the Group Policy restrictions can be removed. WARNING: Not following these tasks typically results in a failed deployment; therefore, the Quick Start Tool requires that the user acknowledges that the steps have been performed. 12 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

13 4.6 Downloading and installing the Quick Start Tool The Quick Start Tool for the Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix is used to configure the basic settings required to begin using the appliance and to automate the setup of the appliance virtualization software. To download the latest version of the Quick Start Tool, perform these tasks: 1. Log in to your appliance and double-click the Download Deployment Tool desktop shortcut. Internet Explorer (IE) is launched and you are redirected to Dell.com/WyseAppliance, where you can download the tool along with instructions about installing the tool. 2. Before you can download the tool, the default IE security settings may need to be adjusted. Click the Tools symbol in the upper-right corner of the IE window, and then click Internet Options. 3. In the Internet Options window, click the Security tab. 4. Select Internet as the zone and click the Custom level button. 5. In the Security Settings window, scroll down to Downloads and change File download from Disable to Enable. 6. Click OK. Click Yes on the Warning window and click OK on the Internet Options window. You will now be able to download the Quick Start Tool installation file. 4.7 Using the Quick Start Tool Dell recommends executing the QST while directly connected to the appliance via monitor, mouse, & keyboard (or KVM) or via idrac instead of connecting remotely through RDP. Double-click the Dell Wyse Appliance desktop shortcut to start the application. The application will guide you through a series of screens that prompt you for information required to configure your appliance and deploy your virtualization environment. The application screens are self-explanatory and are grouped in several sections by the task being performed. You will be given an opportunity to review the information entered before the tool begins executing tasks. Progress bars in the right pane will show the progress of individual tasks. Each section will initiate more tasks and after all inputs have been entered, a screen will display the progress of all deployment tasks. NOTE: If an issue occurs and the Quick Start Tool is able to pause execution to allow the issue to be resolved, a warning message will appear prompting the user to address the issue before clicking OK to proceed. To resolve the issue, follow the information displayed in the warning message and ensure all prerequisites in this document have been completed properly. NOTE: If an issue occurs and the Quick Start Tool is unable to complete the deployment, perform the tasks in Appendix A Rolling back an unsuccessful deployment before attempting deployment again. 13 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

14 For video walkthroughs on using the Quick Start Tool, click the Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix link on the Dell.com/WyseAppliance page Selecting the appliance mode Appliances can be configured in different modes for standalone and scale out deployments. The initial screen in the Quick Start Tool allows you to choose the mode for the appliance that the tool is executing on. The table below outlines the different modes available for the large and small appliances along with an explanation for their purpose. Table 2. If you don t have a volume license version of SQL and want to install SQL Standard in evaluation mode, also leave the SQL license box blank Configuring the template virtual machine During the deployment, the tool will allow you to connect to the template VM that your VMs will be based on. For application virtualization and shared session desktops, the template VM will be a Windows 2012 R2 RDSH server and for full desktop virtualization, the template can be a Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 desktop. 14 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

15 When prompted, click the button to connect and log in to the template VM. After connecting to the VM, install all of the applications required by your users. Ensure that you have the appropriate licenses for your applications to access them in a VDI environment. NOTE: For the template VMs, Dell recommends performing VDI optimization tasks such as disabling unnecessary services. The settings and services that need to be modified will depend on your specific needs and environment. Suggested sources for template optimization information include: Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop documentation. Refer to the Virtualization Software Documentation section in this document. Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 Optimization Guide article: blogs.citrix.com/2014/02/06/windows-8-and-server-2012-optimization-guide This list is not exhaustive, various examples can be found online for Windows 7 SP1, 8.x, 10, and NOTE: Dell recommends evaluating or testing suggested modifications before saving in your template VM. 4.8 Connecting to your virtualization environment The last screen in the Quick Start Tool will display a URL that allows you to connect to your virtual desktops. For maintenance and further customization of your environment, administrators can access the Citrix Studio management console by logging in to the broker management VM created during deployment. NOTE: Dell recommends reviewing the latest hotfixes and upgrades for Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop. Refer to the Upgrading virtualization software to latest version section for more information. 4.9 Default names and credentials The default credentials that are configured on your appliance are listed here. After deployment, Dell recommends that you change the passwords to match your security standards. Table 3. The table below lists the default computer names given to your appliance and the virtual machines created during deployment. The default names use the Service Tag for your appliance. RDSDVS *Only used in a scale out deployment 4.10 Scaling your deployment The process for deploying appliances in a scaled out configuration is the same as a standalone appliance and is accomplished by following the tasks in the Prerequisites, Cabling your appliance, First boot experience, Joining appliance to Active Directory, Downloading and installing the QST, and Using the Quick Start Tool sections. However, the scale out modes are chosen in the QST instead of the all-in-one modes. To perform a scale out deployment, appliances must be configured in the following order. 1. Management (small) appliance: select the Management Only mode in the QST to first configure your small appliance as a dedicated management host. 2. Compute (large) appliances: select the Compute Only mode in the QST on each large appliance after the Management Only deployment has completed on the dedicated management appliance. 16 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

17 Configuring management only appliance Launch the QST on the small appliance that will become the dedicated management node and choose the Management Only mode. Provide the information requested on each screen. For a scale out deployment, the QST will create five Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard VMs for management: two for the broker management roles, one for SQL, one for System Center VMM, and one for StoreFront (web server). Allow the deployment to complete on the management appliance before proceeding with adding the compute only appliances Configuring compute only appliances After the management only deployment has completed, each compute appliance must be added to the deployment. The Compute Only mode in the QST will prompt for IP address information. On this screen, the Appliance IP address refers to the IP address for that compute appliance where the QST is being executed. The management, SQL VM, and VMM VM IP addresses are referring to the existing management VMs previously created on the dedicated management appliance. The Delivery Mode screen will allow you to choose the type of delivery/provisioning for that compute appliance. Refer to the table below for an explanation of the modes. Table 5. 18 5 Upgrading virtualization software to latest version Dell recommends checking for upgrades and mandatory hotfixes for your virtualization software after you ve completed the deployment of your appliance(s) as well as periodically to ensure you are using the latest version. To check for and download the latest Citrix XenDesktop software for your appliance, browse to and select XenDesktop. To further narrow the search, select the current version installed on your appliances. NOTE: XenDesktop version 7.9 was recently released; however, the factory version on the appliance is 7.8. After deployment, Dell recommends that you upgrade to version 7.9 as soon as possible. For instructions on how to perform an upgrade, refer to the Upgrade section in the Product Documentation. 19 6 Getting help 6.1 Locating your system service tag Your system is identified by a unique Express Service Code and Service Tag number. This information is used by Dell to route support calls to the appropriate personnel. The Express Service Code and Service Tag are found on the front of the system by pulling out the information tag. Figure 4 Service Tag location 6.2 Contacting Dell Dell provides several online and telephone-based support and service options. If you do not have an active Internet connection, you can find contact information on your purchase invoice, packing slip, bill, or Dell product catalog. Availability varies by country and product, and some services may not be available in your area. To contact Dell for sales, technical support, or customer-service issues: 1. Go to Dell.com/support. 2. Select your country from the drop-down menu on the bottom right corner of the page. 3. For customized support: a. Enter your system Service Tag in the Enter your Service Tag field. b. Click Submit. c. The support page that lists the various support categories is displayed. 4. For general support: a. Select your product category. b. Select your product segment. c. Select your product. d. The support page that lists the various support categories is displayed. 5. This can be done by visiting Dell.com/QRL or by using your smartphone or tablet and a model specific Quick Resource (QR) code located on your Dell system. 21 7 Recovering your appliance In the event that the OS partition on your appliance is deleted, perform the following tasks to recover your appliance: Install the Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Operating System 1. If not already connected, connect a keyboard, monitor, and mouse to your system. 2. Insert the Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 media (included with your appliance) into the DVD drive and turn on the appliance. 3. After several BIOS screens are displayed, the following message is displayed: Loading Files 4. After the files are loaded, click on the appropriate language that you want to deploy. NOTE: This screen is not displayed for the Simplified or Traditional Chinese versions of operating system. 5. In the Windows Setup screen, select the appropriate Language, Time & Currency, and Keyboard or Input values and click Next. 6. In the Windows Server 2012 R2 screen, click Install Now. The Operating System Install screen is displayed. 7. In the Select the operating system you want to install screen, select the operating system from the available list and click Next. The license terms window is displayed. 8. Read the information carefully. If you agree with all the information, select I accept the license terms and then click Next. 9. In the Which type of installation do you want screen, select Custom: Install Windows only (advanced) if it is not selected already. 10. In the Where do you want to install Windows screen, specify the partition on which you want to install the operating system. To create a partition and begin installation: a. Click Drive options (advanced) New. b. Specify 120GB for the partition size, and click Apply. The following message is displayed: To ensure that all Windows features work correctly, Windows might create additional partition for system files c. Click OK. 11. Select the newly-created operating system partition and click Next. After the operating system is installed, the system reboots. Set the administrator password before you can log in for the first time. 12. In the Settings screen, enter the password, confirm the password, and then click Finish. The system is locked. 13. To log in to the system, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, enter the Admin password, and then press Enter. The operating system installation is complete. 14. In Server Manager, click Tools and select Computer Management. 15. In Computer Management, click the Disk Management node under Storage. 21 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

22 16. Right-click the 'Unallocated' space, Select New Simple Volume, and click Next. 17. Select all available space and click Next. 18. Select D as the drive letter if available. If not, select the letter E and click Next. 19. Ensure NTFS is selected as the file system and enter DATAPART as the volume label. Click Next. 20. Select the Perform a quick format check box and click Next. 21. Review the configuration and click Finish to complete the process. Extract Your Appliance Software Bundle The appliance software files must be extracted to a folder named C:\Dell_OEM. Please contact ProSupport to arrange for a download of the files for your appliance. Deploy Your Appliance Refer to the Deploying Your Appliance section in this document and perform all tasks including the prerequisites. NOTE: The First Boot Experience tasks will have already been performed during the installation of Windows Server 2012 R2. 22 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

23 A Rolling back an unsuccessful deployment During execution of the Quick Start Tool, events may occur that cause the deployment to fail. This could be caused by prerequisites not being met, an issue in the network environment, incorrect information being entered in to the tool, or some other unforeseen issue. After the issue has been resolved, follow the process in this section to remove the failed deployment and revert your appliance to a state where deployment can be attempted again. WARNING: This process will remove an attempted deployment and is intended to be used only when destroying a virtualization deployment is desired. NOTE: The process may vary depending on if you re rolling back a standalone (all-in-one) appliance deployment or a scale out deployment. For standalone appliances, all changes must be reverted before deployment can be reattempted. For scale out, if an issue only occurs with a compute appliance and the management appliance was successfully deployed, only the changes related to the compute appliance will need to be reverted. A.1 Failed standalone or management appliance If a failure occurs while deploying a standalone (all-in-one) appliance or while deploying the management appliance for a scale out deployment, follow these tasks to remove all changes made so the deployment can be attempted again. Appliance Changes These tasks are performed while logged in to the standalone/management appliance: 1. If the Quick Start Tool is still running, close it. Start Task Manager and ensure that Dell Wyse Appliance.exe is not running. If it is, click on the name to select and click the End task button. 2. Start Hyper-V Manager by first starting Server Manager and then selecting Tools > Hyper-V Manager from the top right menu. 3. In Hyper-V Manager, click the host name of your appliance in the left pane. Next, click within the Virtual Machines center pane and press CTRL-A to select all of the virtual machines. With all virtual machines selected, right-click within the pane and select Turn Off. 23 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

24 NOTE: The names and number of virtual machines on your appliance will differ from this example. Turn off all VMs present on your appliance. 4. Once all VMs are in the Off state, right-click again (ensure they are still all selected), and choose Delete. There must no longer be any virtual machines. If any are still present, turn them off and delete them. 5. Start Windows Explorer and go to the C:\temp folder. Move all of the log files present to another location. We recommend moving the log files instead of deleting so they can be referred to for troubleshooting if necessary. 6. Click View on the Windows Explorer menu and check Hidden items to view the C:\ProgramData folder. Within the C:\ProgramData\Dell folder, move the Dell Wyse Appliance folder to another location. 7. Go to the C:\Dell_OEM\Wyse folder and delete ONLY the unattend XML files that are present. If any of the script files are accidentally deleted, they must be restored by running the Quick Start Tool installation again and choosing the Repair option. 24 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

25 8. Start PowerShell and issue the following command: ipconfig /flushdns You should receive a Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache message. 9. Click the Windows button in the bottom left corner and click Control Panel. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program and uninstall the following programs if present: Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager Agent Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager DHCP Server 10. Go to the D: drive and delete all files and folders. There should be no files or folders present. 11. Restart the appliance. Active Directory Changes These tasks must be performed by a domain account with permissions to modify DNS and DHCP records. 1. Log in to a system that has DNS Manager and DHCP snap-in installed. 2. In DNS Manager, delete the records in the forward and reverse lookup zones for the computer accounts created by the Quick Start Tool. Refer to the Default computer names table in the Default names and credentials section for the computer names that are created. In the table, System Service Tag refers to the service tag of the appliance. 3. In the DHCP snap-in, delete leases for any provisioned VMs that were created. A.2 Failed compute appliance in scale out deployment If a failure occurs while deploying a compute appliance for scale out but the management appliance was configured successfully, follow these tasks to only remove the changes for the failed compute appliance. 25 No Restrictions Dell Appliance for Wyse Citrix 07/2016

26 Broker Changes If VDI Desktops, Shared Session Desktops, or Application Virtualization was chosen as the Delivery Mode in the QST, then perform these tasks: 1. Log in to your broker management VM and open Citrix Studio. 2. Click Delivery Groups in the left pane and right-click the group with the service tag number of the failed compute appliance in the name (if present). 3. Select Turn on maintenance mode and click Yes to turn on. 4. Right-click the group again and choose Delete Delivery Group. Click Yes to delete. 5. Click Machine Catalogs in the left pane and right-click the catalog with the service tag number of the failed compute appliance in the name (if present). 6. Select Delete Machine Catalog. In Delete Options, select Delete virtual machines and Delete them from Active Directory. 7. Click Next and then Finish to delete. 8. In the left pane, expand Configuration and click on Hosting. Right-click the name failed compute appliance (if present), click Delete Resources, and click Yes. VMM Changes These tasks are performed while logged in to the VMM virtual machine: 1. Log in to your VMM virtual machine and open Virtual Machine Manager Console. 2. In the left pane, click VMs and Services and expand All Hosts. 3. If the failed compute appliance is present, click on the name of the appliance. 4. If a template VM exists on the compute appliance, it will appear in the right pane. Right-click the VM, choose Delete, and click Yes. 5. Under the All Hosts folder in the left pane, right-click the name of the compute appliance and choose Remove. 6. Click Browse in the credentials box, select domadmin, and click OK twice. Appliance Changes These tasks are performed while logged in to the compute appliance: 1. If the Quick Start Tool is still running, close it. Start Task Manager and ensure that Dell Wyse Appliance.exe is not running. If it is, click on the name to select and click the End task button. 2. Start Hyper-V Manager by first starting Server Manager and then selecting Tools > Hyper-V Manager from the top right menu. 3.
