Course Description This qualification is suitable for individuals working in a range of human resources management positions. Job roles could include human resources assistants, human resources coordinators, human resources administrators and payroll officers. Workplace responsibilities would be determined at a workplace level. Some smaller business may require employees to work across all aspects of human resources. In larger companies, individuals may just have responsibility for a singular aspect of human resources such as remuneration. The state of WA offers a truly authentic Australian experience, offering long days of sunshine, a mild Mediterranean climate with gorgeous blue skies and brilliant beaches. Perth boasts a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, cinemas, nightclubs, and music venues as well as great shopping. The warm sunny climate is also perfect for sporting and leisure activities everything from tennis to golf through to whale watching and sailing. Accommodation in Perth Accommodation for international students in Perth is as varied as the requirements of the students themselves. There are many different options to choose from depending on your budget and your needs. Shared Accommodation In shared accommodation you will have your own bedroom but will share household responsibilities (cleaning, laundry, cooking etc.) with your flat mate. Generally you will buy your own food and will share the cost for services like electricity, telephone internet etc. Rental Accommodation This type of accommodation will provide you complete independence. Rental properties are advertised on the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) website and in Perth s local newspapers. You will sign a legal contract with the landlord or the real estate agency to rent a house or an apartment. Most properties are unfurnished; you will need to purchase electrical items, furniture, bedding and kitchen utensils. You will usually need to pay four weeks rent upfront (known as bond) as well as cover the costs for connecting the electricity, gas, telephone and internet. Some furnished apartments and houses are also available Homestay Homestay means living with an Australian family for all or part of your study period. Single or shared rooms are available. Meals are usually included, but cheaper self-catering homestay is available. You can use the family home at leisure; however there are rules that you will need to follow. More information on homestay can be accessed through student support. Youth hostels Hostels are either privately-owned or run by organisations such as Youth Hostels Australia (YHA) and the YMCA. 17 A Checklist of Things To Do Before You Leave Home Information on Policies and Forms Passport and Visa Medical Check that your passport is valid for at least 6 months prior to your entry arrival in Australia, and that you have all your visa documentation. It is also a good idea to make copies of your passport in case you lose your passport. Arrange for immunisations and/or medication from your doctor. Have your eyes tested and a dental check-up. Personal documents Certified copies of your qualifications and certificates, ID cards, Drivers License, Birth Certificate (or certified copy). Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) This is a requirement for entry to Australia, so make sure you have your health cover policy arranged before you leave home. Travel Insurance You should also consider travel insurance, which covers things your OSHC may not such as cancelled flights, lost documents, dental or optical care, etc. Airfares Make sure you are aware of the date and time of your flight. Keep your flight details in a safe and secure place, with your passport and visa. Contact details You may want to have a list of emergency contact details for family, as well as your embassy, accommodation and college details. If you have used an education agent, keep their contact details on you, in case you need to contact them once you arrive in Australia.
