1 Information for Overseas Students MHM Australasia Pty Limited is the name of the Registered Training Organisation (RTO). MHM Australasia trades under the name of the Australasian College Nails. Beauty. MakeUp. Hair. Either name is correct. Your qualifications will be awarded under the RTO name. Our CRICOS Provider code is 01525G. All of our recruitments are conducted in an ethical and responsible manner and comply with Department of Immigration, Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) requirements. DIMIA is the Government Department responsible for overseas students. Contact can be made directly to the College by to for further assistance and more detailed information. Authorised Agents also operate on behalf of the College and are bound by the same conditions, however, under Code 26, only the College Principal holds the right to offer a place in any program, based on an assessment of all documentation provided. If you have any concerns with any Agent, contact the College direct. OSTAS The College is a member of the ACPET Overseas Student Tuition Assurance Scheme (OSTAS). This guarantees that overseas students will receive the education and training for which they have paid. It guarantees the fees paid by students, so that in the unlikely event of the RTO going out of business, the fees are always protected. CRICOS The College s courses for overseas students are listed on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS Provider Code 01525G). CRICOS can be accessed on the Internet at CRICOS approval demonstrates that the College has been assessed by the Australian Government and approved to deliver training to overseas students.

2 Courses The College has CRICOS approval to deliver the following courses for approved overseas students. Modular delivery is not available to International students, only full qualifications are available to international students Recognition Of Prior Learning (RPL) and/or Mutual Recognition (MR) If the student wishes to apply for either of the above, and is granted such, the program length as advertised will be shortened (by the hours credited). The new program length will be reported to DIMIA in the Confirmation of Enrolment or amendment to such. The student will still be required to attend a 20 hour study week for however many weeks the program is shortened (given the RPL/MR). Only our qualified assessors (minimum BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training) can issue this recognition.

3 Visa Requirements With the exception of New Zealand citizens, all people wishing to enter Australia require a visa or Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) before arrival in Australia. Non-residents of Australia may be granted a student visa to study fulltime in a CRICOS registered course at the Australasian College Nails. Beauty. MakeUp. Hair. Overseas students must reach a range of requirements set out by the Commonwealth Department of Immigration, Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA). The College Principal is available to assist students with arranging their visas. Student Attendance and Record Keeping A minimum 20 hour week attendance is required for all programs. Accurate daily records of academic performance, attendance and conduct are maintained for each overseas student. The College is obligated to immediately notify DIMIA of non-attendance or attendance below 80%, along with any other information that varies from the original agreement entered into between the student and the College. Any changes eg change of address, must be notified within one week of the change taking effect. English Proficiency All courses are delivered in the English language. Learning involves written and spoken English as part of the assessment process. If English is not your first language, you must provide evidence of your English language proficiency. The minimum requirement is English level proficiency: IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 550 or equivalent for all courses.

4 Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) It is a condition of Student Visas that overseas students take out private health insurance for the duration of their stay. OSHC fees are paid to the College at the time of enrolment. Medibank website has the latest information and charges at If you are coming with family, they must also have private health insurance. How to Enrol as an Overseas Student To enrol into a course as an overseas student at the Australasian College Broadway, applicants must complete an International Student Enrolment Form. The form should be completed in full and submitted by mail or fax with full payment and evidence of English language proficiency to: The Principal Australasian College Broadway Suite Smail Street BROADWAY NSW 2007 AUSTRALIA Once we receive your application, it will be evaluated by our Principal to ensure that:. All parts of the form are completed. Full payment including OSHC have been confirmed. Evidence of English language proficiency is suitable. Once your application has been approved, an electronic confirmation of enrolment (ecoe) will be generated. A copy of the ecoe will be forwarded to DIMIA and a copy will be forwarded to you at the address provided on your application with an official receipt for the fees paid (refer payment methods below). It is the applicant s responsibility to apply for a student visa. If your application is not complete, our Principal will contact you.

5 Once you have received the ecoe, it should be taken to the visa section of your nearest Australian Diplomatic Mission (ie Consulate, High Commission or Embassy) where you can make application for a student visa. (For information, go to Note you will be unable to apply for a student visa without the ecoe. Successful Student Visa If your student visa application is approved, you must contact the College and provide evidence and approval. The Principal will then contact you to confirm your timetable, start date and all arrangements for your study with the College. Unsuccessful Student Visa If your student visa application is NOT approved, you must contact the College and advise the Principal. You may apply in writing for a refund of student fees in accordance with the Refund Policy for International Students. Payment Methods Students are required to make FULL PAYMENT in Australian Dollars (AUD$) at the time of enrolment/application. Fees can be paid by: a) Bank Draft all cheques drawn from overseas are to include the fees associated with the draft. b) Credit Card MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners are accepted. c) International Money Transfer must include funds to pay for the receipt of the money transfer. Please note that the ecoe will not be processed until the Principal has confirmed the proceeds of cheques, bank drafts, transfers have been received and/or credit card authorisations have been confirmed. IMPORTANT NOTE: Course fees DO NOT include accommodation, travel insurance, OSHC, airport transfers, visa application fees, work permit fees.

6 Accommodation The College can provide assistance to overseas students to arrange suitable accommodation. Sydney has many options for students including Homestay, share accommodation, serviced apartments and private leasing. There are many accommodation options close to the College. Cost of Living The following are some estimates of the cost of living in Sydney. You should work out a budget covering accommodation, food, transport, clothing and entertainment. Childcare, if applicable, should also be taken into account.
