3 School based students DELIVERY and ASSESSMENT ARRANGEMENTS Course duration and program organisation: The course delivered for a traineeship is 8 weeks over a period of 12 months. The students need to complete 20 units of competency in this qualification consisting of off the job training program for all the required knowledge and skills demonstrations. The student is only deemed competent when sufficient workplace evidence is recorded into a training record book the host employer or employer confirms competency and the student undertakes a skills assessment with the trainer/assessor. Consultation will take place with field officer, trainer /assessor and the employer over the course of the training program monitoring the progress of the student while in the workplace and off the job training. Recognition of Prior Learning/Current Competency (RPL/RCC) Students are offered the opportunity to apply for RPL/RCC. Please refer to the RPL/RCC policy and procedure manual. Delivery Modes The course program is delivered off the job for an apprenticeship or stand alone course at the MTA Training and Employment Centre location at 3 Frederick Road, ROYAL PARK, 5014.The program is delivered in a training room based face to face delivery comprising theoretical learning and simulated workplace practical skills carried out in fully equipped workshops in group and individual tasks. Additional support includes one on one learning support and a further 2 hours has been allocated to all theory components where language comprehension may be restricting the learning. For each unit students are provided with training materials required for theory and practical sessions which include workbook, assessment materials and reference materials. Evidence Gathering Techniques RTO/work placement training record book Written/oral knowledge assessment Skills assessment A training record book is provided at the commencement of the course and completed throughout the duration of the training on and off the job. Written/oral and skills assessments are provided at the conclusion of each unit. Most units require vocational work placement to underpin a Competency Achievement and as a result of assessments are initially assessed as Academic Pass.

4 Schedule of Competencies Delivered The off the job training program scheduled is over a 8 week period, with each week listed is aligned to the unit of competency delivered at the Training and Employment Center. Trainer/Assessor Staff All staff training and assessing in this qualification are qualified technicians with various years of experience in the trade, they continue to keep up with current industry trends. All training and assessing staff hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification. ASSESSMENT VALIDATION PROCESS The process used to validate assessment activity in the course is: 1. Training Manager/Accountable Officer/Business Development Managers meet with Motor Trade Association divisional industry committee s bi-annually for consultation to validate training and assessment materials being delivered are consistent with industry requirements. 2. Trainer/Assessors conduct surveys of the students regularly to validate training and assessment materials for continuous improvement. 3. Training Manager/Accountable Officer/Trainer Assessors meet regularly to validate and moderate training materials, resources, assessments and assessment methodology. INFRASTRUCTURE REQUIREMENTS (a tick indicates that the RTO has the required infrastructure) All staff, including full time, part time and casual staff, involved in the delivery and assessment of this qualification has direct access to the current version of the relevant Training Package, including the appropriate units of competency, assessment guidelines and qualification structure. All staff, including full time, part time, and casual staff, involved in delivering the program across to trainer, assessor and students support materials relevant to their areas of delivery and assessment. All assessors have access to print and electronic copies of the assessment tools that are used in this program The RTO has access to staff and training/assessment resources to meet the requirements of students with special needs and has an assessment approach that incorporates reasonable adjustment procedures. The RTO has reviewed the equipment and facility requirements for each unit of competency in the qualification and guarantees that it has access to the plant and equipment need to implement the program.
