2 Introduction Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is one of the most effective marketing tactics to generate leads and sales for your business website. Here are some few important things to consider to achieve being on the top of the list on search engines. Is the HTML code compatible with search engines? Is the website compatible with browsers? Is there an alternative image description available? Are the links on the website correct? Were the keywords inserted in the texts in a meaningful way? Does the website contain meaningful navigation and page structure? SETUP & WIZARD Choosing a Domain One of the most important things to consider as far as search engine optimization is concerned is the domain. One thing that drives the users to pull up your website when they get to see your entries on the search engines is the domain. People got caught easily if the link is related to the information that they are looking for, If your website is all about health and fitness then you should get a domain closer to the content of the website. You may have any of these example domains healthandfitness.com, healthandfitness.org or.net. For the SEO SPOTLIGHT/PRO - Note that you can use this SEO Tool for only one domain per contract. There is no other way to change the domain assigned to the tool than to cancel and purchase it again. Obviously that s going to take a lot of time since you will have to redo the entire process. Therefore, it is best to consider which domain to use before starting the setup.
3 SETUP 1. Click the drop-down option, enter the domain then hit Start.
4 2. To select an Industry/nature of your business simply click on the link Show all industries. In the pop-up window, select the appropriate industry by clicking on the link. If your website industry is not found on the list, you may select the Generic Business Type. Choosing an Industry As the domain plays an important role on SEO, so as the Industry your website should belong into. You need to know under what industry your business website belongs to as you will be asked to tag your website for a particular industry. It is important that you choose the right Industry so your website will have an appropriate position on the categories of search engines. Tagging your website to the right industry will help the SEO tool to index your website on the right position/category.
5 3. Fill in the fields with the relevant information then hit Next. (When hitting the next button, it will automatically generate keywords based on the information you have provided on the fields below) 4. On this page, you will find the auto-generated keywords. Check the keywords and correct if necessary by clicking on the text box. Insert your own keywords and then hit the check symbol. Click on Next button to continue.
6 5. Click on the button Optimize website to finish the setup. 6. You will be directed to the dashboard of the SEO tool. Start by adding a competitor as it is shown below. Make sure to input a valid URL otherwise you will get the error as it is shown below. If a valid URL is entered then it should display like the image shown below. After you add competitors, you will be taken back to the dashboard.
7 TEXT OPTIMIZATION
8 1. TEXT OPTIMIZATION This serves as the first step. 2. The image above shows the fields where you can input the keywords/ content (text) of your website for optimization. By hitting the button Check Status found on the right hand side of the window, you will know which information needs correction and what are the needed changes as far as the optimization is concerned.
9 Choosing the Keywords The most significant entry that people should consider when thinking about Search Engine Optimization are the keywords. The user should decide the keywords to use to drive traffic to the website effectively. The concept The more the merrier is an effective way to get a huge traffic to your website. Thus, you must figure out the keywords that potential customers are using to search for businesses like yours. Moreover, you have to find the relevant terms to use for your search engine optimization. The best way to optimize your site is to use keywords referring to your location. Making use of the popular keywords that somehow are related to the website should be considered.
10 3. To optimize a subpage, simply click on the Add Subpage tab found at the left hand side of the tool. See the image below. Then click on next to input the header content keywords. Input the name of the subpage / filename Click on the arrow down icon to select the keywords. 4. After filling the text boxes with the necessary information, click on Check Status to submit the entries.
11 Search Result Entry
12 1. The Search Results Entry control how you display results on search engines. Click on the tab to start adding entries. On this section, select Homepage to start adding entries for your index page. The information you put here must be the description of the individual pages.
13 2. Fill the boxes with the description of the page then hit the button Finish to submit. Search engines often show the page title and the page description of the website in their search results. Optimize it as described below so that the users find and visit your website: 1. Use the previous keywords as early as possible in both the title and description. 2. Reduce the length of the title or the description to the recommended number of characters. Any characters which appear in the title or descriptions after this count will be cut off in the search results.
14 Google Places Entry
15 GOOGLE PLACES ENTRY 1. After reading the brief introduction of what Google Places is about, simply click the Finish button to proceed to the next step which is the creation of the Google Account.
16 2. Click Next to continue creating the Google Account. If you already have one, you can skip and simply click the Next button. 3. Click on the link Link to Google Places to create a Google Places listing. 4. When you click on the link highlighted on the image above, Google places will open in a new window. Refer to the image below.
17 The customer needs to carry out the rest of the process in setting up his Google Places account by providing the information such as the exact location of his business. If his business is not listed, he can add it in by clicking the option at the bottom of the dropdown menu Add your business. 5. After adding the business location on Google, the next step is to go back to the SEO tool and finish Google Places entry.
18 If you have done all the necessary steps on Google Places Interface by following all the directions, then you need to finish each of these processes on their respective pages. 6. When the Google Places entries are complete, a notification window will appear like what is shown below. Simply click on the Next button to proceed to the next part of the Optimization.

23 2. Click on Set up directory to start the process and fill in the fields as displayed below. All the fields highlighted in blue should be filled in accordingly. When you are finished, click "Submit Data".
24 A summary of the data you have entered on the previous page appears here. That finishes the process for local listing.
