3 Azvi is a family-owned company whose origins in the field of public works date back to the end of the 19th century. The first contract was signed in 1901 with the Andalusian Railway Co. In 1925 Manuel Contreras Graciani founded the company using his own name and it was involved in various railway and hydraulic projects. The firms current name Azvi dates back to Its activity in all areas of construction -roads, railway, hydraulic and environmental works, maritime works and airports...- continues to expand, nationally and internationally, in countries such as Romania, Serbia, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Qatar, through different companies. Grupo Azvi was set up in 2002 and is present in fields of activity, such as concessions, transport, logistics, urban development, industry, services... through its own companies or shared owner-ship companies.

7 Management systems QUALITY The development and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System is a strategic objective at Azvi. It is extended to all of Azvi s activities as a means to continue growing and consolidating the organisation among the most important companies in the sector. Azvi s Quality Management System has been developed in accordance with the ISO 9001 Standard. HEALTH&SAFETY From its beginning, one of the main objectives in Azvi s business policy has been the attainment of the highest possible level of safety, both for its own workers and for collaborating companies. In its commitment with safety and prevention and continuous improvement of its management systems, Azvi has adapted and certified its Occupational Risk Prevention Management System according to the requirements of the OHSAS Standard. ENVIRONMENT Sustainability is a key factor in Azvi s business policy. 23 High-Speed Rail High-Speed Rail Line to Levante Stretch: Contreras Reservoir-Villargordo del Cabriel Contract amount: million The stretch is 6.5 km in length, of which 1.6 km conrresponds to three viaducts and 3.9 km to three tunnels. It is to be highlighted the viaduct over Contreras Reservoir, record in Spain and Europe for the largest concrete arch executed in railway stretchs, with a total length of m, a 261 m span arch and 37 m maximum height piers.
24 High-Speed Rail High-Speed Rail Line to Levante Stretch: Seseña-Aranjuez Contract amount: 86 million The stretch is 8.6 km long. The project includes the construction of a 1.2 km Two-way track switching post, the Dehesa Nueva del Rey cut-and-cover tunnel (1 km long) and a 1.2 km long viaduct over the Tajo river.

29 High-Speed Rail High-Speed Rail Line Norte-Noroeste Stretch: Soto del Real-Miraflores de la Sierra Contract amount: 37.4 million The stretch is 2 km in length and runs almost whole for Arroyo del Valle Viaduct, one of the longest of its class with 1.8 km. The project was awarded with the Special Mention of the III Acueducto de Segovia Award, for its environmental integration and the respect, in its design and performance, with the environment.
30 High-Speed Rail High-Speed Rail Line Norte-Noroeste Stretch: Valdestillas-Río Duero and Dual Gauge Switcher in Valdestillas Contract amount: 36.8 million The stretch is 11.5 km in length and it has been designed for a speed rate of 350 km/h. It should be mentioned the construction of three viaducts over the rivers Adaja, Cega and Duero. The dual gauge switcher consists of the connection between the Madrid-Hendaya Conventional Line and the Madrid-Segovia-Valladolid/Medina del Campo High Speed Line.

33 High-Speed Rail Transverse High-Speed Rail Line of Andalucía High-speed Line Antequera-Granada Stretch: Peña de los Enamorados-Archidona Archidona Viaduct Length: 7.5 km Contract amount: million The most relevant element, which named the whole stretch, is the 3,150 m long Archidona Viaduct. It has the longest hyperstatic span in an european railway viaduct. Moreover, a 540 m long cut-and-cover tunnel and a 1,897 m long PAET (train siding and parking post) have been also constructed.
34 Conventional railway Railway Line Bobadilla-Algeciras. Track renovation Stretch: Ronda-Cortes de la Frontera Contract amount: 50.8 million 40 km stretch updating of the railway line, built in 1892, in order to permit the simultaneous passing of high speed trains with freight of goods and passangers transport in regional lines. It has been simultaneously introduced double gauge using a three rail single track. The work can be classified into two groups: updating and reinforcing the infrastructure and renovation of the track. The complexity of some of the work has required an enormous deployment of people and resources to finish on time.
35 Conventional railway Railway access to Barajas Airport Construction of the infrastructure for the suburban line linking the Chamartín station with Terminal 4 in Barajas Airport. The total length of the line is 6.3 km. The track superstructure, the electrification and the ficilities are also being built for the correct railway line operation. Contract amount: 216,7 million
36 Conventional railway EuskoTren Repair Shops and Depot Contract amount: 21.8 million Repair shops and depot construction project for EuskoTren in Araso, Guipúzcoa. On a ground of 5.8 ha surface, the following areas are outlined: depot area, repair shop area, laboratories, offices and railway park area. It includes the construction of a Halt facility and an overpass on the railway line San Sebastián-Irún.
37 Conventional railway Iberian Gauge Bypass between Manuel and Enova Track installations and electrification Contract amount: 18.8 million The bypass consists of leaning two conventional tracks to the new High Speed Line between Xátiva and La Pobla Larga stations, rounding Manuel and Enova urban zones. Seven level crossings will be removed.

44 Urban transport Urban Light Train in Sevilla Line and Central Installations Contract amount: 29.4 million Infrastructure and superstructure of the stretch between Plaza Nueva and Prado de San Sebastián of the urban light train in Center of Sevilla, as well as the Technical Branch and main facilities building.
45 Urban transport Underground railway and intermodal station in Palma de Mallorca Contract amount: 79.3 million Construction of an underground intermodal station under the present one in the urban centre of Palma de Mallorca. This infrastructure has a railway station, a bus station and a car park with 290 parking spaces.
46 International / Romania Simeria-Brasov railway line In those two stretches of the Brasov-Simeria line pertaining to the Pan-European Corridor IV, their current layouts will be adapted to allow railway traffic at a maximum speed of 160 km/h, also renewing its electrification system, signaling, stations and halts. Stretch: Atel-Micasasa. Lot III Contract amount: million Length: 29.6 km Stretch: Sighisoara-Atel. Lot IV Contract amount: million Length: 25 km
47 International / Romania Railway access infrastructures to the Calafat-Vidin international Bridge Railway contract amount: 30 million Total contract amount: 63.8 million Length: 9.1 km Construction project of the road and railway access infrastructures to the Calafat- Vidin International Bridge which entails the improvement of the Dresde-Estambul IV Trans-European Corridor. Railway infrastructure includes the construction of a new platform and the renovation and adaptation of the current railway line to the international gauge. The new platform consists of a 3.3 kilometres of single track from the end of the bridge on the Romanian side of the Danube to the existing Golenti-Calafat line, including a new connection towards Calafat. Furthermore the existing main and secondary lines will be rehabilitated as far as the Golenti train station, which itself will be fully renovated. The project also includes electricity generation, catenary and rail signalling work along its entire length. The latter will be installed according to the ERTMS level 1 European standard.
48 International / Serbia Zezelj Bridge Contract amount: 45.3 million Length: 474 m Construction of Lots I and II of a new bridge on the original site of the old Zezelj Bridge over the Danube River, which was destroyed during the Balkan War. The bridge s structure is metallic and consists of two decks with a double arch steel top. This structure covers a total distances of 474 metres, with only one intermediate support. The new bridge will have sufficient capacity for two lanes of vehicular traffic, two tracks for rail transit, as well as walkways and bike lanes permitting pedestrian use.
49 International / Mexico Inter-City Train Mexico-Toluca Contract amount: 690 million Length: 57.7 km New Inter-City Train Mexico-Toluca construction project to connect Toluca Valley (Zinacantepec Station) with Mexico City (Observatorio Station), with four intermediate stations (Bus Terminal, Metepec/ Airport, Lerma and Santa Fe), providing a service to an estimated 270,000 users. It also aims to reduce connection and traffic problems between both cities. The contract includes the construction of the 57.7 km railway line, the electromechanical systems and the rolling stock supply. Almost the whole stretch runs on the surface, except 4.7 km which run through a double-tube tunnel. Azvi will carry out a part of the construction and track assembly process
50 International / Mexico F Railway Line Monterrey-Matamoros Stretch: Matamoros Bypass Contract amount: 38 million Length: 10.5 km The work consists of the construction of a new 10.5 km long railway infrastructure, from the mexican city of Matamoros up to the Bravo river in the USA border. A shunting yard, with 20 km of total track length and a 52 ha surface, will be carried out to relocate all the railway facilities of Matamoros. Otherwise, new buildings will be constructed: Office Building, Repair Shop, Customs, etc... Approach roads to the different zones of this new railway complex will be also carried out.

In 2008, Tracción Rail has started its activity as Railway Transport Operator.
