3 Attachment B Begin with the end in mind. -Steven Covey Licking County in Ohio has identified seven career clusters to make the process of choosing a career and planning for that career easier for students. The seven career clusters and logos are: Arts and Communications Business and Marketing Industrial and Engineering Systems Environmental and Agricultural Systems Health Services Human Resources/Services Information Technology All occupations fall under these broad career cluster headings. These seven career clusters have different levels of employment based, most frequently, on education and/or training. Professional careers require the most education or specialized training, usually a four-year college degree or higher. Technical careers normally require a two-year degree or specialized training. Entry-level careers usually required only a high school diploma with a limited amount of additional training. The list of careers on the following pages is a partial listing obtained from OCIS (Ohio Career Information System). It is a representative list only. For a complete listing of potential careers, see your school counselor. Career Pathways are created to provide a map to help students pursue relevant coursework for their chosen career cluster. The following pages identify a recommended schedule, electives directly related to the career cluster, and the educational training sites and educational opportunities available during high school to reach your goal.
