3 Deans Nursing Policy Coalition The Coalition members concluded that, as leaders of Schools of Nursing, it was incumbent on them to promote advanced practice nursing and to speak with a credible and effective voice on the issues of particular concern to their institutions and students.

4 The Coalition Supports: more funding for education, including simple expansion of capacity; modernization of degree programs and curricula; resolving issues with nurse-led clinics and other teaching venues, such as barriers to full participation in Medicare and Medicaid; implementing information technology and EHRs for clinical care and population health that include a nursing/primary care perspective; and maintaining a proactive posture in federal health policy development and implementation in order to promote effective changes and best practices.

14 New Primary Care Site Opened The Clinic at Mercury Courts Opened August 6, 2012 Partnership with Urban Housing Solutions 62 unique patients seen in August Target population = 800 persons residing in 2 square mile area, living in subsidized housing Uninsured, disabled, low health literacy rates, poor access to prevention and primary care services, little access to pharmacotherapy, very low income, behavioral health comorbidities, transitioned from homelessness..many challenges in this population
