1 Mission: The Mission of Residential Living is to enhance students educational and developmental experiences. We ensure safe, well-maintained living environments; promote a wellness lifestyle; and provide outstanding service to our customers. 4 Unit Achievements: Over 100% occupancy in traditional halls & opened at 78% occupancy -no individual who fell under the UW Board of Regents on-campus residency requirement (i.e., graduated from high school within the past two years) was turned away from housing; any individual in this group seeking housing was accommodated) Major renovation of our 5th building completed in summer of 2012 LEED Certification of and LEED EB Certification of Neale Hall Enhanced our sustainability efforts by placing a Green Advocate in every hall. Labor of Love with over 200 student volunteers assisted at various community sites: Red Cross, Oakridge Senior Living, Goodwill Industries, Stevens Point Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Kwik Trip Car Wash, Salvation Army-Food Pantry, Boston School Forest, Habitat for Humanity, Peace Lutheran Campus Center, Stevens Point Fire Department, Church of the Intercession, Association of Downtown Businesses, National Wellness, Children's Museum, Boys and Girls Club, St. Paul's Methodist Church, University Neighbors, & Schmeeckle Reserve Website: have worked with IT to remain at the forefront of Web protocol developments for department sites; moving to responsive web design for fall 2012 Developed in conjunction with Web and Media Services, an on-campus tour of traditional halls which offers a look at UWSP residence halls and the services and amenities they offer. Offered on-line sign-up fall room selection for continuing residents for second year allowing individual flexibility in when they make room changes Provide accommodations to individuals needing housing during break periods.
5 Inclusive Excellence: Continued Diversity Ambassador Program Held Diversity/Social justice Programs for Residents 113 (28 from Diversity Ambassadors) Next Years Department Goals and/or Priorities: In the Counseling Center will: Continue to refine and expand assessment of programs and services and adding electronic data collection strategies. Grow and develop education and prevention strategies with new position Grow AODA program consistent with the recommendations of the AODA Campus/community task force and in collaboration with Rights and Responsibilities and Residential Living Conduct Campus Connect training (suicide prevention) and implement program campus wide. Monitor short-term therapy model, bringing longer-term cases to clinical consultation for discussion and disposition Continue to update webpage, increasing ease of use and expanding self-assessment and pertinent information on psychological topics.
