Not only have we included a lot of new products (learn more about these on this double page), but we have also implemented a new chapter structure. The catalog is now split into two main parts: the first part (chapters 1 10, with blue tabs) contains our AMP NETCONNECT Systems, each in its own chapter; the second part (chapters 11 15, with orange tabs) contains our AMP NETCONNECT Products by its technology (i.e. Twisted Pair, Fiber Optic, etc.) We have tried to avoid duplication of products. Index PN Index, Reliable Performance, Imprint, etc Universal Connectivity Platform The Universal Connectivity Platform (UCP) is designed to deliver rack efficiency and multiple media deployment. It includes a versatile range of components that include patch panels, subfloor panel and overhead panel mounts, pre-terminated links and adaptor modules. One common patch panel, either angled or flat, is used to accommodate both copper and fiber, and the units can be installed within or outside the 19-inch envelope. Side mounting brackets maximise usable space along the vertical posts of the rack system, while adaptive mounting brackets can be used strategically above and below the racks. The UCP accepts pre-terminated copper looms, fiber cassettes and MRJ21 high density copper connectivity cassettes, for faster deployment and high reliability. It is also fully compatible with TE Connectivity s AMPTRAC managed connectivity solution. For products which are UCP compatible look out for this icon. NETpodium The NETpodium rack system complements the UCP both inside and outside of the 19-inch envelope while maintaining the electrical and mechanical integrity of the channel. It is based on a light aluminium, open-frame concept which can be transformed into a closed cabinet if required. Its high-density cable managers incorporate corner brackets and fingers in a single unit. These provide bend radius control for both copper and fiber and excellent patch cable support in high-density environments. They also ensure cable containment and prevents the accidental disturbance or removal of patch cords. A tool-less fastener enables rapid installation, allowing all accessories to be fixed in just three steps: insert/position/lock. Thanks to the innovative design of the NETpodium rack system s aluminium profile, the installer has the freedom to mount accessories wherever they are required, simply by adjusting the positioning of the fastener along the T-channel. Key benefits include a common look and feel for data center patching frames, support for standards-compliant installation inside and outside the 19-inch envelope, and additional patching space on the frame when high port density switches are deployed. It also acts as a building block that the infrastructure manager can deploy today and still be sure that it is flexible enough to support most network topologies planned for the future. For the installer, it is lightweight, versatile and easy to construct, offers toolless assembly of accessories, and when deployed with UCP it can remove patching headaches. 5 What s NEW! AMP CO Ultra Featuring a new full-metal housing, the AMP CO Ultra System offers easier, faster termination along with improved shielding. Both the patch panel and wall outlet of this modular network cabling system come with this new improved die-cast housing. What s New! Using the Quick-Termination pistol-grip tool with Automatic Wire Cutting (AWC), the AMP CO edge connector can now be terminated faster than ever before. To find out more see page 50. Home NET-Works The concept of the fully wired home is not a new one. But the reality of implementing a fully integrated, multiple media home or small office infrastructure has been more of a vision until now. TE Connectivity has developed a fully integrated, multiple media connectivity solution for Small Office / Home Office (SOHO) applications. The TE Home Net-Works Structured Cabling System is a high performance infrastructure platform for distributing voice, data and video services throughout single or multifamily dwellings. The RCS14 and RCS28 distribution enclosures fully support AMP NETCONNECT highperformance, modular connectivity solution including Category 5E, Category 6 (shielded and unshielded) and fiber optic. Front-loadable, snap-in connectivity modules combined with color-coded, configuration patch cords enable any outlet jack to be easily configured for analog voice (up to four lines), Ethernet, or other applications. To find out more see page 92. Secure Cabling Systems Network access and security are concerns commonly addressed through software or through physical barriers. However, segregating parts of a network by location, by function or by client is often difficult without inconveniencing the network users. The AMP NETCONNECT SECURE Cabling Systems enable segregated optical fiber and twisted pair networks that can be easily installed and simply implemented without sacrificing performance or requiring expensive electronics. The unique keying technology in the AMP NETCONNECT SECURE connector plugs, adapters and jacks prevents the risk that improper connections can pose. Through a combination of offset slots, offset keys, non-symmetrical cross sections and stops, the SECURE products are all modified to prevent mating with non-secure products, or with unmatched SECURE products. 24 MPO/MPOptimate System MPO/MPOptimate Installation and Polarity MPO/MPOptimate installation and polarity In each fiber optic system, the link from source (Tx) to receiver (Rx) needs to be flipped once. In a complete MPO/MPOptimate link this flipping is provided by one flipped cassette, while all other components in this link shall be installed as straight version. MPO/MPOptimate System MPOptimate ready for 10, 40 and 100 Gb/s The MPOptimate system is designed to support 10G Ethernet and 4/8G Fiber Channel applications through the complete structure of a Data Center, as specified in ISO/IEC 24764, EN and TIA/EIA 942. The MPOptimate system is designed to have 6 cassettes per link for 10 Gb/s with a full 300 meter support on OM3 fibers and 550 meter on OM4 fibers. It offers one passive channel from the end equipment to the core switch without the need of repeating signals for amplifying reasons. When using the MPOptimate cabling system, the owner can replace aggregation switches by a patch cord without changing the passive infrastructure. The system offers already today a fully 40 and 100 Gb/s capability and seamless migration.
