Workers may provide support, advocacy or interventions to individual clients, groups or communities across a range of services. Work may take place in a range of community service, case work or case management contexts. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY If you are seeking to enrol in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency. 2 Fees Subsidised fee This training is subsidised by the NSW Government under Smart and Skilled. To be eligible for the Smart and Skilled subsidised fee you must be an Australian or NZ citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder. You must also be over 15, no longer at school, and live or work in NSW. See our Smart and Skilled page for full details. The subsidised fees shown below are indicative only. What you will actually pay depends on your individual circumstances.you will be able to estimate your fee before completing your application or enrolment. Fully subsidised training Some part qualifications or prevocational training will be fully subsidised by the NSW Government under Smart and Skilled. These fee-free courses range from short preparatory programs to advanced skill sets for priority groups and industries. Full fee If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee. If you are granted recognition of prior learning or credit transfer for one or more units in this qualification, your student fee will be reduced. Course related charges You may be required to pay a course related charge in addition to the course fee. 3 Meadowbank Important Dates You are required to attend one of the compulsory Enrolment Information Sessions as part of the enrolment process. These sessions are on 15th June 10 am 12 pm, 21st June pm 7.00 pm, 11th July 1.00 pm 3.00 pm. All of these sessions will be held at Meadowbank Campus, Block K, Level 3, Room K3.30. At this Enrolment Information Session, we will provide information about the courses we are offering, including course timetables and you will have the opportunity to meet with a teacher to discuss your interest in the course. Please bring with you any evidence of prior study in a related area as you may be able to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning. If you are offered a place in the course, you will need to attend the compulsory Orientation Program on 12th and 13th July 2016 from 9.00 am pm. Classes will then commence the beginning 18th July 2016.Classes are scheduled 5 days a, from 9.00 am pm. It is delivered in an integrated approach which means that some of your learning will be undertaken with students from a range of disciplines ie. youth work, disability; as well as a mixture of course levels ie. Certificates III and Certificates IV and Diploma. This diversity will enrich your overall learning experiences.
