1 SMART ENTRY WITH PUSH BUTTON START Operate certain functions of your vehicle by simply having the remote transmitter within operating range. Featured on all trims except LX, HF, Natural Gas & Natural Gas Navi. UNLOCKING THE DOORS LOCKING THE DOORS Grab either one of the front door handles when the vehicle is off. Wait until the doors unlock, then pull the handle to open. Press the door lock button on either front door handle when the vehicle is off. OPENING THE TRUNK ENGINE START/STOP BUTTON Press the trunk release button under the trunk handle. The vehicle can be on or off. ACCESSORY OR ON MODE Press ENGINE START/STOP once without pressing the brake pedal for Accessory mode. Press it again for On mode. CIVIC 4D SEDAN STARTING THE ENGINE Press and hold the brake pedal*, then press ENGINE START/STOP. *For manual transmission, press and hold the clutch. TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF Shift to Park**, then press ENGINE START/STOP. **For manual transmission, apply the parking brake. CIVIC 2D COUPE NOTE: If you press ENGINE START/STOP and the shift lever is not in Park, the vehicle goes into Accessory mode. 1
2 DISPLAY AUDIO Control various features of your vehicle using a touch interface that is similar to a smartphone. Featured on all trims except LX and HF. HOME SCREEN Select HOME to view the main menu and select vehicle functions. EX, EX-L, Si, NATURAL GAS, HYBRID and HYBRID LEATHER EX-L NAVI, NATURAL GAS NAVI, Si NAVI, HYBRID NAVI and HYBRID LEATHER NAVI Touch items to select them. 4 BLUETOOTH HANDSFREELINK (HFL) Place and receive phone calls through your vehicle s audio system. Visit handsfreelink.honda.com to check if this feature is compatible with your phone. To reduce the potential for driver distraction, certain functions may be inoperable or grayed out while the vehicle is moving. Stop or pull over to perform the function. Featured on all trims. HOW TO USE HFL LX and HF Pick-Up button: Answer an incoming call or go directly to the Phone. Hang-Up/Back button: End a call, decline an incoming call, or cancel a selection. Talk button: Make a call using a stored voice tag. Use these buttons to navigate through the HFL menus. PHONE button: Go directly to the Phone. Back button: Press to cancel an operation or return to the previous. Selector knob: Rotate to scroll through selections and press to make a selection. 4

6 PAIRING YOUR PHONE Use the selector knob to make and enter selections. For LX and HF. Use this method when no phone has ever been paired to the system. You can pair your compatible phone only when the vehicle is stopped. 1. Press PHONE to go to the Phone. A prompt appears. Select Yes. 2. Make sure your phone is in discovery mode. Select OK. 3. HFL searches for your phone. Select it when it appears on the list. If your phone does not appear: Select Phone Not Found, and search for HandsFreeLink from your phone. Connect to HFL. 4. HFL gives you a four-digit code. Enter it on your phone when prompted. The phone is now paired. Use this pairing method when a phone has already been paired to the system, or when you want to pair an additional phone. 1. Press PHONE to go to the Phone. If a prompt appears asking to connect to a phone, select No. 2. Select Phone Setup. 3. Select Connection. 4. Select Add a New Phone 5. Select an empty location for the phone. 6. Make sure your phone is in discovery mode. Select OK. 7. HFL searches for your phone. Select it when it appears on the list. If your phone does not appear: Select Phone Not Found, and search for HandsFreeLink from your phone. Connect to HFL. 8. HFL gives you a four-digit code. Enter it on your phone when prompted. The phone is now paired. 6
7 PAIRING YOUR PHONE (CONTINUED) Pair your phone when the vehicle is stopped to begin using hands-free phone and related audio functions. For all trims except LX and HF. TOUCH ITEMS ON THE SCREEN TO MAKE SELECTIONS. 1. From the Home, select Settings. 2. Select Phone. 3. Select Bluetooth Device List. 4. Select Add Bluetooth Device. 5. Make sure your phone is in discovery mode and select OK. 6. HFL searches for your phone. Select your phone when it appears on the list. If your phone does not appear: Select Phone Not Found and search for HandsFreeLink from your phone. 7. HFL gives you a six-digit code. Compare it to the code that appears on your phone. Connect to HFL from your phone. 8. The system asks if you want to enable options: HondaLink Assist: Select On to enable emergency notification in the event of a collision. Phone Synchronization: Select On to automatically import contacts and call history from your phone. 7
8 SMS TEXT MESSAGING Receive and send text messages from your paired and linked compatible phone. Visit handsfreelink.honda.com to check if this feature is compatible with your phone. Standard message rates apply. This feature is limited while the vehicle is moving. For LX and HF trims. RECEIVING TEXT MESSAGES Use the selector knob to make and enter selections 1. A notification appears on the i-mid. Select Yes to open the message. 2. The message is displayed, and the system reads it aloud. REPLYING TO TEXT MESSAGES Use the selector knob to make and enter selections 1. With the message open, press the selector knob to enter the Text Message Menu. 2. Select Reply. 3. Select one of the six available reply messages. 4. Select Yes to send the message. CALLING THE SENDER Use the selector knob to make and enter selections 1. With the message open, press the selector knob to enter the Text Message Menu. 2. Select Call to begin the call. 8

10 LANEWATCH TM Helps you check your right blind spot when you make a lane change to the right. For all trims except LX and HF. HOW IT WORKS When the right turn signal is activated, a camera located in the passenger side door mirror shows the right rear area outside your vehicle on the display. Display Visibility Area LANEWATCH DISPLAY Press the LaneWatch button on the turn signal switch to view a constant real-time display. Press it again to turn the display off. The display still appears when the right turn signal is activated. See your Owner s Manual for information on adjusting LaneWatch settings. 10
11 VOICE RECOGNITION To keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, use the TALK button to say voice commands to operate certain vehicle features. For a full list of commands, say Voice Help. Featured on all trims with Navi. HOW IT WORKS The voice control system uses the steering wheel buttons and the microphones at the top of the. To reduce the potential for driver distraction, certain manual functions may be inoperable or grayed out while the vehicle is moving. Voice commands are always available. Microphones Pick-Up button: Answer an incoming call. Hang-Up/Back button: End a call, decline an incoming call, or cancel an operation. Talk button: Give voice commands. VOICE COMMAND PORTAL When you press the TALK button from most s, the voice portal appears and the system gives you examples of voice commands that can be used. Press the TALK button again, and the system waits for you to say a command. The system recognizes your command. The system confirms the command. VOICE COMMAND TIPS When the TALK button is pressed, all available voice commands are highlighted in yellow. To bypass the system prompts, press and release the TALK button again to say a command. To hear a list of available commands at any time, press and release the TALK button, then say Voice Help. Speak in a clear, natural voice. Reduce all background noise. Adjust the dashboard vents and side vents away from the microphone in the ceiling. Close the windows. 11
