BUILDING PERMIT - RECONSTRUCTION OF RETAINING WALL 34 BOSTON ALLEY (APN ) Zoning District: Residential (R1) Historic District Committee recommendation to issue Design Clearance for reconstruction of a 5 retaining wall. B. BUILDING PERMIT ROOF MOUNT SOLAR 175 SPANISH STREET (APN ) Zoning District: Residential (R1) Historic District Committee recommendation to issue Design Clearance for a new 7.28 KW Roof Mount Solar System. C. BUILDING PERMIT EXTERIOR REPAIR OF BUILDING & PAINT 28 MAIN STREET (APN ) Zoning District: Downtown Commercial (DTC) Main Street Historic District Committee recommendation to issue Design Clearance for structural repairs to the rear of the building and new paint color. 4 The below photograph represents the failed wall in its current condition awaiting repair. The reconstruction will match the former retaining wall in like and kind materials.p NEXT STEPS: 1. If approved by the Design Review Committee, a building permit will be issued for the reconstruction of the retaining wall. 2. DISCUSSION: The applicant has submitted a building permit application to install a new solar system on the garage. The application meets the intent of the Design Guidelines Chapter and has received Plan Check approval for building permit issuance. The wet-stamp must be provided prior to building department plan check review. The overall project will provide structural integrity without changing the existing appearance. Included in this review and approval, is the owners request to repaint the north, east and south sides of the building (rear portion). If the Committee determines the project is not a significant modification to the exterior of the structure, and recommends Design Clearance, a building permit will be processed for the project. 2. If the Committee determines the project is a significant modification to the exterior of the structure, the Committee recommendation will be forwarded to the Planning Commission for consideration. 3. If denied by the Design Review Committee, the applicant may revise and resubmit their plan based on the Committee recommendation or appeal the decision to the Planning Commission. Page 6 of 6
