11 Personal Invitation The Ocean and future aspects of the European Marine Research Area International Forum Meeting Friday 11 June: 09:00 Lunch Stanhope Hotel, Rue du Commerce 9, 1000 Brussels The Forum-meeting focuses on why the Ocean and future aspects of the European Marine Research Area should be high on the European research and innovation agenda and in the future 7th Framework Programme. Purpose A main purpose of the seminar is to stimulate the debate on the priority of this theme and which issues that should be addressed on a European level. What is the potential value added for Europe? Which opportunities could be grasped? What could be the elements for a research agenda? What are the challenges regarding innovation and value creation? What opportunities could the new EU research policies offer? Addressing issues for follow up, key actors will conclude the event. A seated lunch together with an informal reception will offer rich opportunities for networking. Participation is based on invitation only. There will be no participation fee. Reception Thursday evening 10 June Ambassador Bjørn T. Grydeland invites all participants to an informal reception 19:30 21:30 where the Sea will be the theme. The reception will take place in his residence: Av. Jules César 24, 1150 Bruxelles.
