3 Program Goals SCIENCE.COM To educate and train the next generation of scientist and engineers using new technology with emphasis in the Arctic on climate change. Strengthen the cooperation between the Norway and United States in underwater robotics for effective management of natural resources and industrial application development. Senter for internasjonalisering av høyere utdanning
4 Motivation Recent advances in underwater robotics for marine applications not well developed in the academic outside the US. Norway s interest in Northern Areas of territory (resources and increased access). Interest from a science perspective as Arctic undergoing significant change. Need for next generation of scientists and engineers in these cross disciplinary areas.
