2 Profile Hello Coach, Thank you for taking the time to review my player profile. My name is Marissa Mangini, and I am a junior at American Heritage School in Boca/Delray (2013 graduate). Because I'm a natural lefty, I have been working for years on bunting, slapping, one hand drag, and hitting. Although I have a good short game, I also have the versatility to be able to hit with power. I have been part of National Championship and World Series winning teams with my previous travel team, the Palm Beach Wicked. Recently, I had the opportunity to join the Gator Gold 18U team coached by Link Flannery and Don Martyn. This highly competitive team has a very aggressive travel ball schedule. Coaches Link and Don are excellent teachers of the game. At American Heritage, I hold a 5.1W GPA in all honors classes in the pre med program. My freshman year at American Heritage, I earned a Varsity letter on our District winning softball team. The 2011 high school softball season, my sophmore year, was extremely successful. Our team won Districts, Regionals and the Class 2A Florida State Championship! I was the lead off batter, and played outfield. I finished the season batting.480, and was excited to have batted.667 in the State Championship tournament. I was honored to have been named 1 st Team All State and 1 st Team All County in both the Palm Beach Post and Sun-Sentinel newspapers, and also to have received the Offensive Player of the Year Award for my high school. I also received the Class 2A State Defensive Player of the year. These accomplishments reflected the hard work of all of my teammates and my coaches, and I was honored to have worked with such a talented and motivated group of people was a fabulous year, and our high school team won the Florida Class 3A State Championship! My goal for the future is to graduate high school, attend a strong, academically oriented college where I will play softball and eventually go to Medical School and become a physician. I would like to invite you to come to watch my teammates and I play in an upcoming tournament. I think you will enjoy watching our aggressive style of play.
