Program restructuring provides students better service, options Several Delgado programs have not been completely "terminated," but revised. In order to better serve our students, several programs have been restructured and offered in conjunction with other programs. Below is a list of programs that have been (1) moved/renamed/offered under other existing degree, certificate, or Workforce programs, or (2) eliminated because other existing, related programs provide equivalent instruction and training. Students who need guidance if they are currently studying in one of the affected programs, or need help selecting a new, appropriate course of study, are encouraged to visit their advisors. Terminated Program Environmental Studies/The Built Environment Related Program(s) Non-Credit / Specialized Training Division: Workforce Development and Technical Education Carpentry Architectural/Design Construction Technology Associate of Applied Science Civil and Construction Applied Engineering Technology Associate of Applied Science Welding Division: Business and Technology Division: Business and Technology

Computer Aided Design and Drafting Associate of Applied Science Division: Business and Technology The in Environmental Studies/The Built Environment was terminated due to lack of enrollment; the specialized skills learned address a small portion of contemporary workforce need in construction trades and design. Non-credit course offerings are available, and interested parties should contact the Workforce Development and Technical Education Division at (504) or Keidra Williams at kmadis@dcc.edu. The College also offers a Certificate program in Carpentry. This certificate is designed to prepare students for success in jobs in Construction Trades. Interested students should contact the Technical Division at (504) or Keidra Williams at kmadis@dcc.edu. Associate degree programs in Architectural/Design Construction Technology and Civil and Construction Applied Engineering Technology are also offered at the College. The Architectural/Design Construction Technology Program is designed to prepare graduates to work as technical management personnel for architects, engineers, design-builders, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, fabricators, technical construction material sales companies, or the government, and the Civil and Construction Applied Engineering Technology program is designed to prepare graduates with the knowledge and competencies necessary to obtain entry level employment in the construction technology field. Those interested in either program should contact the Division of Business and Technology at (504) or Rachael Ramsey at rramse@dcc.edu. The College offers Certificate programs in welding, to include all aspects of the welding craft. Interested students should contact the Technical Division at (504) or Keidra Williams at kmadis@dcc.edu. Degree and Certificate programs in Computer Aided Design and Drafting help students to develop skills and techniques used in the drafting room. Students learn to identify and solve various types of drafting problems and at the same time develop the flexibility needed to adapt to various work settings. Those interested in either program should contact the

Division of Business and Technology at (504) or Rachael Ramsey at

Terminated Program Cosmetology Teacher Trainer Related Program(s) Non-Credit / Specialized Training Division: Workforce Development and Technical Education Cosmetology Technical Diploma Barber-Styling Technical Diploma The in Cosmetology Teacher Trainer was designed to prepare licensed Cosmetologists to sit for, and successfully pass, the Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology s licensure exam for Cosmetology instructors. Successfully completing the licensure examination allows a Cosmetologist to teach cosmetology skills to students enrolled in licensed cosmetology schools. The specialized program requires students to hold valid licensure and work experience as a Cosmetologist. Specialized training courses for licensed Cosmetologists to become Cosmetology Instructors will be offered as non-credit. Students interested in this type of training should contact the Cosmetology department at (504) or Keidra Williams at kmadis@dcc.edu. Please note that the College continues to offer Technical Diploma programs in Cosmetology and Barber-Styling; the College is authorized to offer these programs through Louisiana State Boards, and successful graduates are eligible to sit for Louisiana licensure exams. Students interested in the Cosmetology or Barber-Styling programs should contact the Technical Division at (504) or Keidra Williams at kmadis@dcc.edu.

Terminated Program Collision Repair Technology: Basic Structure Repair Person Related Programs: Motor Vehicle Technology Motor Vehicle Technology Associate of Applied Science The in Collision Repair Technology: Basic Structure Repair Person was a specialized instructional program that does not meet current industry needs. The College still offers a Certificate program and a Degree program in Motor Vehicle Technology. The existing programs in Motor Vehicle Technology offered at the College each contain a concentration titled Collision Repair. The Collision Repair Concentration contains coursework in Automotive Gas Metal Arc Welding, Automotive Painting, and Collision Repair. Additionally, the College offers Technical Competency Areas (T.C.A.) in Automotive Gas Metal Arc Welding and Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Light Repair. The existing TCAs, Certificate, and degree programs are adequate to meet current workforce needs, and provide students with a pathway to continue their education and advance their careers in the Motor Vehicle Technology industry. Students interested in Motor Vehicle Technology / Collision Repair programs should contact the Technical Division at (504) or Keidra Williams at kmadis@dcc.edu.

Terminated Program Diesel Power Technology Related Programs: Non-Credit / Specialized Training Division: Workforce Development and Technical Education Motor Vehicle Technology Motor Vehicle Technology Associate of Applied Science The in Diesel Power Technology was designed to prepare the graduate for a career in the operation, repair, and maintenance of diesel/multi-fuel industrial engines and equipment. Students interested in this specialized training should contact the Workforce Development and Technical Education Division at (504) or Keidra Williams at kmadis@dcc.edu. Students interested in Motor Vehicle Technology (Automotive Diesel applications) should contact the Technical Division at (504) or Keidra Williams at kmadis@dcc.edu.

Terminated Program Electrical/Electrician: Energy Systems Technician Related Programs: Electrician: Residential Electrician: Commercial Electrician: Small Industrial The program in Electrical/Electrician: Energy Systems Technician, as designed, lacked a clear focus and identified industry purpose. The program was maintained to expand training for electricians to new/alternative energy applications; however, does not meet current workforce, employer, or student need. The College continues to offer a variety of programs designed to prepare students with the skills necessary to work as Electricians in many applications. Students interested in programs designed to prepare students for careers as Electricians should contact the Technical Division at (504) or Keidra Williams at kmadis@dcc.edu.

Terminated Program Related Programs: Interior Design Technical Diploma Interior Design Associate of Arts Division: Arts & Humanities Kitchen and Bath Design Division: Arts & Humanities The Technical Diploma in Interior Design was designed for students possessing degrees in disciplines other than Interior Design to prepare for a career change and acquire the appropriate credentials to practice as an Interior Designer. This program was a limited admissions program, restricted to those students in possession of an Associate degree or higher in a discipline other than Interior Design. The related program in Interior Design remains active, and courses toward the degree will still be offered. Students interested in a degree program in Interior Design, or in taking coursework in Interior Design to prepare for a change in career, should contact the Arts and Humanities Division at (504) or Erin Sanders at esande1@dcc.edu. The Certificate program in Kitchen and Bath Design is a new program at the College, and prepares individuals for entry level and advanced positions in the Kitchen & Bath Design Industry.
