2 Overview of IT and Industry Convergence (1/2) March 2013 According to the 18th CPC National Congress, China needs to take a new road to industrialization, informatization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization with Chinese characteristics. Among them, IT and industry convergence must be promoted. September 2013 The MIIT formulated the "Special Action Plan for IT and Industry Convergence ( )" to promote the convergence in eight aspects, including management system construction. End of 2013 The MIIT organized 10 pilot projects about industrial clouds in the country to promote the application of cloud computing in the industry. Page 1

4 Industrial Cloud in Chengdu: Major Actions Chengdu: Promotes IT and industry convergence to provide computing, storage, and diverse functional services for local enterprises to improve IT capabilities. Huawei: Maximizes its advantages in storage, computing, and data services. GDS Infrastructure: Gives full play to advantages in platform operations Chengdu Industrial Cloud Based on the principle of "enterprise investment, government support, and market operation," the Chengdu Industrial Cloud is a Chinese-made cloud platform that integrates software and hardware, and maximizes respective advantages of Huawei and GDS Infrastructure. 5 Industrial Cloud in Chengdu: Progress (1/2) At the end of 2013, Huawei and GDS Infrastructure formulated the construction plan for Chengdu Industrial Cloud, and started the project. To date, the Industrial Cloud has constructed 2000 m2 level-a equipment rooms, developed the platform GUI, connected three-carrier lines, and deployed 2000 VMs and 800 TB storage devices. Meanwhile, the two companies have integrated a variety of service resources and deployed industrial cloud application services. The Industrial Cloud has reached strategic cooperation agreements with over 10 application service providers, covering over 20 application services, such as OA and operation management. More than 70 enterprises have completed trial operations of services on the platform. 6 Industrial Cloud in Chengdu: Progress (2/2) Chengdu Municipal Commission of Economy and Information has publicized and promoted the Industrial Cloud platform through enterprise alliances and industrial associations, and entrusted its subsidiary software industry development center as the service purchaser. The purchase is response for purchasing activities and supervises service content and quality. Page 5

7 Plan and Vision (1/3) Phase Expand the Industrial Cloud platform and services, improve the chain ecosystem, provide large-scale community services, and start Big Data support services. Phase Improve the Industrial Cloud services, develop platform applications, and provide application service products (R&D design, manufacturing, marketing, service, and comprehensive management) for enterprises in Chengdu. Phase Provide basic Industrial Cloud services; complete platform infrastructure construction, including IaaS platform and O&M management platform; deploy host, storage, and security resources to enhance cloud computing service capabilities and provide basic resource services for industrial enterprise in Chengdu; and introduce third-party application service providers to provide some services.
