Elastic Fabric Elastic network to support business growth and development for the next 10 years: CE switches can implement a 960 Tbit/s non-blocking switching network that supports data center server evolution across four generations (from GE, 10GE, 40GE, and finally to 100GE). With this nonblocking switching platform, customers do not need to frequently upgrade their networks to meet requirements for 40GE access or even 100GE access. 3
Highest-performance core switch in the world: The CE12800 provides 2 Tbit/s bandwidth (unidirectional) per slot (scalable to 4 Tbit/s) and 64 Tbit/s switching capacity (scalable to more than 128 Tbit/s). The CE12800 supports a variety of high-speed line cards including 8*100GE and 24*40GE/96*10GE line cards. Each switch can provide as many as 128*100GE, 384*40GE, or 1536*10GE line-speed ports. The high capacity and port density make the CE12800 an industry leader. Large capacity, for 10 years 4 generations severs lifecycle Flexible scalability, builds customized solution for enterprise N0.1 Core switch performance 4 Core switches 40G TOR uplink 3 Fabrics Types 18, GE servers access 18 years stable software platform-vrp Multi TOR access 40GE uplink ports on all top-of-rack (ToR) switches: The CE6800 and CE5800 provide super-high densities of 10GE and GE access ports. The entire CE6800/5800 series provides 40GE uplink ports with the highest forwarding performance in the industry. Largest cloud-computing network platform in the industry: The CE12800 series can implement a 960 Tbit/s non-blocking switching network that uses a distributed buffering mechanism on inbound interfaces to support computing in super-large 10GE server clusters. Highest server access capability in the industry: Using a 2-layer flat network architecture consisting of core switches and ToR access switches, the CE12800 can combine with the CE6800/5800 using 40GE interfaces to build a network that provides access for up to 18,000 10GE servers or 70,000 GE servers, leading the world in server access. Core ToR Access Capability to support large scale server access: 18,000+10GE servers or 70,000+ GE servers 4
Virtualized Fabric Comprehensive network virtualization capabilities: The CE series uses Virtual System (VS) and Cluster Switch System/intelligent Stack (CSS/iStack) technologies to flexibly adjust network boundaries, meeting requirements for network virtualization. The switches use Transparent Interconnection of Lots of Links (TRILL) and ncenter technologies to support service virtualization and server virtualization. VS for on-demand resource sharing: The CE12800 provides a virtualization capability of 1:8, so one switch can be virtualized into as many as eight logical switches. This capability allows one core switch to manage services for multiple parts of an enterprise (such as production, office, and DMZ) or for multiple tenants. VS technology improves device usage efficiency and reduces network construction costs while maintaining high security. VS (Virtual System) CSS (Cluster Switch System) Campus Office CE12800 Production DMZ Sale CE6800/5800 CE12800 CSS/iStack to simplify network management: The entire CE series supports CSS/iStack, which can virtualize multiple physical switches into one logical switch to simplify network management and improve network reliability. The CE12800 series has an industry-leading clustering capability. Four CE12800 core switches can form a cluster. The CE6800/5800 series also supports a large stack of up to 16 switches. Innovative CSS+VS synergy technology: The CE12800 combines CSS and VS technologies to turn a network into a resource pool so that network resources can be allocated on demand. This ondemand resource allocation is ideal for the cloud-computing service model. Large-scale routing bridge to support flexible service deployment: All CE series switches support TRILL, a standard IETF protocol. The TRILL protocol helps implement a large Layer 2 network with more than 500 nodes. This network allows flexible service deployment and VM migration, free from restrictions imposed by physical locations. 10GE/GE servers can be used on a TRILL network. VM VM VM VM VM VM TRILL:VMs migrate in large layer 2 network 5
ncenter to allow automatic migration of VMs: ncenter is an automated management system for virtualized data centers. It automatically delivers network configurations to devices when VMs migrate. Additionally, ncenter provides high-speed RADIUS interfaces to increase the VM migration speed to times the industry average. ncenter: Network policy management TOR TOR Radius Auto Network deployment Open API VMs Migration VM VM VM VM VM VM VM Management High-Quality Fabric High-reliability network designed for data centers: The CE12800 provides industrial-grade reliability and uses a redundant design for both hardware and software to ensure service continuity in data centers. The CE12800's industry-leading non-blocking switching architecture has five features, which ensure non-stop services. Additionally, the CE series switches can implement a lossless, lowlatency Ethernet network, which provides unified, lossless transmission for high-value services. Non-stop Switching Core Non-blocking Switching Fabric Lossless Switching Network Full System hot backup system backup architecture Five Zero features Non-stop services during switching packet loss Switching Main Control NSR NSF Monitor Power Fan NSU NSP NSB Five hardware components hot-backup, all system buses redundancy, strictly N+N dual power input NSR: 1 million routes recovery in 5s, performance 2x industry standard Orthogonal design, improves bandwidth, scalable system Dynamic CLOS architecture, load balancing Cell exchange, improves fabric utilization VoQ scheduling, fabric schedules in order 12GB large buffer, burst traffic non-blocking forwarding DCB: storage service lossless forwarding 2us low latency: forwarding efficiency 2x industry standard 6
Non-stop switching core to support service continuity: The CE12800's five types of components (including MPUs, SFUs, CMUs, power supplies, and fans) use a hot backup design. Three types of major buses (monitoring buses, management buses, and data buses) work in redundant mode, ensuring super-high reliability of core nodes. Using Huawei's next-generation VRP8 software platform, the CE12800 supports non-stop anything (NSA) technologies, ensuring continuity of services during service switching. Non-blocking switching architecture to ensure non-stop services: The CE12800's non-blocking switching architecture features an orthogonal switch fabric design, Clos architecture, cell switching, Virtual Output Queuing (VoQ), and super-large buffer. The orthogonal switch fabric greatly improves system bandwidth and evolution capabilities and enables the switching capacity to scale to more than 100 Tbit/s. The cell-switching-based Clos architecture supports dynamic routing, implements load balancing, and allows flexible switch fabric expansion. The VoQ mechanism together with the super-large buffer on inbound interfaces (as much as 12 GB per line card) provides fine-grained QoS, ensures unified service scheduling and sequenced forwarding, and implements nonblocking switching. Lossless switching network to ensure unified service transmission: The CE series supports Data Center Bridging (DCB) to ensure low latency and zero packet loss for the fiber channel (FC) storage services and highspeed computing services. The CE12800 core switch has 2 µs latency, one third of the industry average, making the CE12800 appropriate for latency-sensitive, high-value services such as online video and games. The CE series can implement a lossless, low-latency Ethernet network to transmit storage services, computing services, and data services, reducing costs of network construction and maintenance.
