4 Introduction Feith Dashboard iq Server is a web application enabling you to view and track your key performance indicators (KPIs) in real time by viewing dashboards in a browser. A dashboard is a canvas that contains pods with your data displayed in a graph or grid. Supporting features such as unlimited drilldown on your data, URL links, pictures, and more are included. Dashboards and pods are created in Dashboard iq Designer. See Dashboard iq Designer User Guide for more information. Requirements Dashboard iq Designer requires the following: Java Runtime Environment (JRE). The minimum recommended version is 6 update 33. Apache Tomcat. The minimum recommended version is Feith Web Services, which provides the web services used by Dashboard iq Server to retrieve the data from the database that is displayed in the dashboards and pods. Feith Dashboard iq Server must be installed on the same Tomcat server as Feith Web Services. Adobe Flash Player on clients viewing dashboards. The minimum required version is 11. Note on New Installation If installing Dashboard iq Server for the first time to connect to a new FDD database, make sure to configure the Dashboard iq Server entry in the Feith Control Panel in the Servers module. See Feith Control Panel User Guide for more information on configuring server entries. Note: When creating the server entry for Feith Dashboard iq Server in Feith Control Panel, the Database value there must match Database display string value set when installing Feith Web Services. The database connection label is case sensitive so the two values should match exactly. Note when Upgrading from Dashboard iq Version to Version or Later If you are upgrading from Dashboard iq version to Dashboard iq version or later, you need to open and re-save your existing pods. 5 Install Dashboard iq Server To install Dashboard iq Server: 1. Run the Dashboard iq Server installation package. You prompted with an Install dialog asking if you want to turn off the Tomcat service. Click Yes to turn off Tomcat. 2. You may receive a prompt asking if Tomcat is installed, even if Tomcat is already installed. If Tomcat is already installed, click Yes. In the Tomcat Home Directory screen, browse to and select the Tomcat home directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 7.0). Click OK to continue. 6 3. The Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for Feith Dashboard iq Server opens. Click Next to continue. Feith Dashboard iq Server 8.1 Install Guide 6

7 4. On the License Agreement screen, click Yes if you agree to the terms. Feith Dashboard iq Server 8.1 Install Guide 7

8 5. On the Location of FDD Applications screen, choose the folder where Dashboard iq Server will be installed. Click Next to continue. The default location is C:\Feith. To choose another location, click Browse and select another folder. Feith Dashboard iq Server 8.1 Install Guide 8

9 6. On the Select Program Folder screen, choose where you want Dashboard iq Server in the Programs list. Click Next to continue. The default program folder is Feith Systems. Feith Dashboard iq Server 8.1 Install Guide 9

10 7. On the Start Copying Files screen, review your selections for Destination Directory and Program Folder. Click Next to start installing Dashboard iq Server. Feith Dashboard iq Server 8.1 Install Guide 10

11 8. On the InstallShield Wizard Complete screen, click Finish to complete the installation. See Dashboard iq Designer User Guide for more information on designing dashboards and pods and viewing and using them with Dashboard iq Server. Feith Dashboard iq Server 8.1 Install Guide 11

12 9. You are prompted as to whether you want to restart Tomcat. Click Yes to restart Tomcat tor click No to leave Tomcat off for now. Feith Dashboard iq Server 8.1 Install Guide 12

13 Confirm Dashboard iq Server is Running To confirm Dashboard iq Server is running: 1. In the browser, enter the address to Dashboard iq Server s dashboard list. For example: 2. You are prompted to login. Enter your fdd Username and Password and select the Database. 3. Click Login. You are logged into Dashboard iq Server and your dashboard list displays. Your dashboard list should look something like below, which confirms Dashboard iq Server is running. Note: If no dashboards have been created on your system yet or if you do not have permissions to any dashboards, the My Dashboards list will be empty. Feith Dashboard iq Server 8.1 Install Guide 13
