2 Page 2 CELLTRAQ Overview CELLTRAQ CELLTRAQ is a web application that is used to monitor the health of batteries, generate reports, and notify users via when thresholds have been crossed. The server side is Apache Tomcat 6 and the database is Microsoft SQL Server The client side is a general Web browser. Before you can use the CELLTRAQ system, you must install JDK, Apache Tomcat, SMTP Tester Interface and the CELLTRAQ application. You must also build the database. Wizard Installation CELLTRAQ requires that the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database be installed prior to installation. If it is not installed, a free version is available on the CD and located in the SQL Server 2005 Express folder. To install SQL Server 2005 Express, please follow the instructions in the Installing SQL Server 2005 Express document. Installing JRE NOTE: For Microsoft Vista: Installation must be performed by a user with an Administrator account. User Account Control must also be disabled during installation. 1. Left click on the Windows START button and choose RUN. 2. Navigate to the CELLTRAQ CD. 3. Double-click on jre-6u10-windows-i586-p.exe to start the installation. The included Java programs will require Java Runtime Environment. 4. Proceed to running the installation wizard after JRE as been installed. Midtronics Inc Monroe Street Willowbrook, IL

3 CELLTRAQ Running The Installation Wizard 1. Left click on the Windows START button and choose RUN. Page 3 2. Navigate to the CELLTRAQ CD. 3. Double-click on CELLTRAQ_Install_Wizard.jar to begin the installation. The Wizard welcome screen appears. Click NEXT to continue. 4. At the License Agreement window, after reading the Agreement, click in the box next to I Agree. You must check this box before the installation will proceed. 4 Page 4 Click NEXT to continue. CELLTRAQ NOTE: The NEXT button will remain inactive until the I Agree box has been checked. 5. The Install JDK dialog box appears. Click on the Install JDK button to begin the installation process. At the end of the installation process the Sun Microsystems registration screen will appear. Registration is optional. Once JDK has been successfully installed, click NEXT to continue. You must install JDK before the NEXT button is enabled. 5 CELLTRAQ 6. The Install Tomcat dialog box appears. Page 5 Click on the Install Tomcat button to begin the installation process. Once Tomcat has been successfully installed, click NEXT to continue. You must install Tomcat before the NEXT button is enabled. 7. The Install JDBC Driver dialog box appears. Click on the Install Driver button to begin the installation process. 6 Page 6 CELLTRAQ Once the JDBC driver has been successfully installed, click NEXT to continue. You must install the driver before the NEXT button is enabled. 8. The Configure Environment Variables dialog box appears. Click on the Check System button to check your system for the executable needed to set environment variables. Click on the Set Variables button to configure the environmental variables. Once the variables have been successfully configured, click NEXT to continue. 7 CELLTRAQ 9. The Install CELLTRAQ Application Server dialog box appears. Page 7 Click on the Install button to begin the installation process. Click NEXT to continue. You must complete this step before the NEXT button will be enabled. 10. The Database Setup dialog box appears. Complete STEP 1 and STEP 2 before continuing. Click NEXT to continue. 8 Page The software installation is now complete. CELLTRAQ The Installation Complete dialog box appears Click on the Start CELLTRAQ button to open the CELLTRAQ software. This will test CELLTRAQ to verify that the installation was successful After the installation has completed and Tomcat and the SMTP Tester Interface have started, open your web browser and test CELLTRAQ by typing in the following URL in your browser: Click FINISH to complete the process. Attach Database Use the following procedure to attach the CELLTRAQ.mdf using the Management Studio. a. From the Windows START button navigate to Programs / Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / SQL Server Management Studio Express. (Connect using Window Authentication) b. Right Click on Database. c. 9 CELLTRAQ Page 9 d. Click Add to navigate to directory of mdf located in the CELLTRAQ\ Database directory. Update server.xml (Optional) You can have the SQL server database on another server from the CELLTRAQ software. The server name must be changed in order for the software to function properly. servername is the address of the server to which you want to connect. This can be a DNS or IP address. It can also be a localhost or for the local computer If not specified in the connection URL, the server name must be specified in the Properties collection. Once the CELLTRAQ software has been installed, there will be a file called server.xml that will need to be updated. On the line url= change localhost to match your server. 10 Page 10 Running Tomcat As A Service You have the option of running Tomcat as a service. CELLTRAQ 1. Navigate to the Windows Control Panel and double click on the Administrative Tools icon. 2. In the Administrative Tools window, locate Services and double click on it. 3. From the Services Window, locate Apache Tomcat and double click on it. 4. Within the Apache Tomcat dialog box, locate Startup type:. Select Automatic from the drop down menu. 5. Click OK to save your changes. Running SMTP TI As A Service. You have the option of running the SMTP Tester Interface as a service. 1. Navigate to the Windows Control Panel and double click on the Administrative Tools icon. 2. In the Administrative Tools window, locate Services and double click on it. 3. From the Services Window, locate Midtronics Tester Interface and double click on it. 4. Within the Midtronics Tester Interface dialog box, locate Startup type:. Select Automatic from the drop down menu. 5. Click OK to save your changes. Midtronics Inc Monroe Street Willowbrook, IL

12 Page 12 License Key 1. Enter your license key that you received from Midtronics. CELLTRAQ 2. Press SAVE. The Mac Address of the CELLTRAQ Server and the maximum number of enabled users will appear. Individuals with the role of Supervisor will have the ability to set user access rights within the CELLTRAQ application by clicking Admin on the toolbar. 16 Page 16 Additional Screens Password CELLTRAQ The Change Admin Password screen is where you can change your password Thesaurus The Translatable Terms screen is where you can change the terminology for alert notifications to terms that you or your customer may be used to. For example, in notifications, the term High Alarm can be changed to Significant Alert. Recommended Action From this screen you can change the recommended actions for each alert type. About CELLTRAQ product information can be viewed from the About screen. This includes version information for CELLTRAQ, JDK and Tomcat. 17 CELLTRAQ Troubleshooting Page 17 Details concerning an error can be found by checking the exceptions information displayed in the Tomcat console window. Database can not reached Possible reasons: Database is not running Activate the start menu and click run, input telnet servername If you can see a blank and black window with a flashing cursor on the top left corner, then the database is running; otherwise, the database is not running. (The servername is the name of the computer where database is installed; 1433 is the default port. Update this if you re using another port.) JDBC is not installed correctly Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (Error establishing socket) Possible reasons: Port number not correct Check port number using the Server Network Utility. 18 Page 18 Adding CELLTRAQ As A Trusted Site (Exporting to Excel) CELLTRAQ To use the Export to Excel feature in CELLTRAQ, the CELLTRAQ Website must be added as a trusted site. Clipboard access will also need to be changed. 1. Navigate to CELLTRAQ Login Screen 2. In Internet Explorer, select Internet Options from the Tools menu. 3. Click on the Security tab. 4. Click on the Trusted sites icon. 5. Click on the Custom level... button. 6. Scroll down to Scripting. This option is usually towards the bottom of the window. 7. Under Allow Programmatic clipboard access option, check or select Enable. The default action is Prompt. This causes a pop-up message whenever there is any attempt to access the Clipboard. 8. Click OK. 9. Click the on Sites button. 10. Enter CELLTRAQ as a trusted site and click Add. The CELLTRAQ website should appear in the lists of trusted websites. 10.
