2 Welcome to the 10 th Jet World Masters in Meiringen! We welcome all competing jet pilots and helpers, their family-members and supporters, as well as all jet aeromodelling enthusiasts, to the 10 th Jet World Masters, to take place in Switzerland from August 21 to September 1 st, 2013! All documents and more information about the world s most significant and prestigious championship for radio-controlled scale jets are available on. For more information about the Haslital tourism region and for accommodation requests please visit Based on Bulletin 0, Version 1.1 from February 2012 with general information and an overview, this focuses on your proper team registration and accommodation during your stay in the Meiringen region. The official language of the competition and related publications will be English; the website is in English and German. The official currency in Switzerland is Swiss Francs (CHF). 1. 4 5. Competition Site The photo below of the Meiringen Air Base provides an overview of the key facilities supporting the event (view from North-East). 5 Meals Breakfast and dinner at the hotel or camping ground, according to your preferences. Lunch will be available at the airfield (CHF 6.- to CHF 20.-) Drinks, water, snacks and light meals will be available for purchase on site. 6. General information about registration Registration has been open since November 1 st, Please only use the official registration form available for download at /fileadmin/seiteninhalt/downloads/dokumente/jwm2013registration Forms.doc Last day to register for competitors is March 31, 2013! Any registrations received after March 31, 2013, will not be honoured To support registration of as many supporters as possible, we will accept supporters registrations until May 31, 2013 Please complete all forms and provide all requested photos (team manager, pilots, helpers, supporters, and models) Registrations without photos cannot be honored, as a photo is needed for the access pass to restricted areas (see Bulletin 0) Your prompt registration helps ensure your acceptance as a competitor. Early registration will also support us in providing the best possible preparation for your arrival. The registration fees only cover attendance of the competition by team manager, pilots, helpers and supporters. Any other orders and vouchers for social activities (such as Nations Night and the Closing Banquet) are to be paid cash during arrival/check-in at the JWM event location. The Team Manager will complete Registration Forms 1 5 and send them as soon as possible but no later than March 31, Registration Form Instructions Registration Forms are: Form 1 Team Manager, Pilots, and Helpers Form 2 Photographs for Team Manager, Pilots, and Helpers Form 3 Supporters and Photographs for Supporters Form 4 Team Members Summary Form 5 Model details and photographs Supporter registrations: In order to have as many Supporters as part of the Teams, we will accept Supporter registrations until May 31, These registrations need to be submitted on Form 3 and signed by the Team Manager. All completed registration forms must be sent by Team Managers only. All forms must be sent to: registration@jwm2013.com Registration photographs: All team managers, pilots, helpers and supporters are asked to provide a digital photograph (passport style) of chest and head only, 1 inch x 1 inch (2 ½ cm x 2 ½ cm) pasted in the appropriate Forms # 2 or 3. Due to safety and insurance liability, providing a picture is a must. The picture will be used to produce the official identification passes for use during the event, and for the printed event brochure..0_final Page 5 of 10

6 Unfortunately, we cannot issue any passes without pictures. So any person who does not provide a photograph will not be issued a pass and will have limited or no access to facilities and restricted areas. Photo identification passes distribution: During the on-site registration/check-in process, we will ask the team managers to pick up the passes for their team members. Airfield access limitations: The active flying airfield will require separate access for the pilots, helpers and supporters. Spectators will be restricted from the active flying airfield. Their admission to the JWM competition will be free of charge. Spectators will be permitted into the model storage hangar; however they will be required to stay within the barricaded walkway areas (they will not be permitted to the model table area). Registration questions: All communications with the organizers must be through the team managers. Information collected on the registration forms will be used by the organizers solely for the necessary purposes of controlling the event. Names, countries, and photos will also be used for the publications, event brochure, and announcer commentary. In order to produce this program, high-resolution images (.jpg, ideally 1 Mb or higher) are needed of all the images (pilots, team, models) submitted with the registration forms. All Team Managers are kindly requested to provide these images (ideally as a zipped collection of files) to the Public Relations and Media officer via media@jwm2013.com Please name the images user-friendly (e.g. NameFirstName_Helper.jpg ) The better images we get from your team, the better we can present it to the public! Deadline for all images is March 31, with earlier delivery highly appreciated! 8. Payments and Bank Transfers for the Registration After the team managers return the registration forms, we will send each team manager an invoice with the exact amount to be transferred in Swiss Francs (CHF). All payments must be made by one single transfer per team. 7 9. Accommodation and Excursions Haslital Tourism is proud to host the Jet World Masters as the venue of the World Championships for the Jet Model family. An exciting, first class athletic competition is taking place amidst the imposing mountain backdrop of the Eiger, Mönch and Wetterhorn peaks. Come enjoy our Haslital Hospitality in the Bernese Oberland, the center of Switzerland! For Teams and Supporters we offer special conditions for accommodation in hotels, holiday appartments and camp grounds. Additional we also offer excursions in the area as well as day trips to Berne and Lucerne. Please note: These packages and excursions are only for participating Teams and Supporters of the JWM 2013, bookable for the mentioned dates. Booking will only be accepted by the team manager of the participating nation. For your booking please use the official booking form. Booking must be made until March 31, For late bookings we cannot guarantee the special rates. List persons per room / appartment / camping lot Single room only in hotels and on request Children reduction on request We do only have a limited number of hotel beds, appartments and camping lots available for the mentioned package price. Therefore we recommend to book as soon as possible. The excursions can be booked in advance or on-site, as space is limited we recommend to book in advance. Cancellation insurance is not included in the price but can be booked optionally through us. Hotels, Chalets, Apartments: There are many hotels, chalets and apartments available close to the contest site. They are listed on the Meiringen Haslital Tourism website Rate listed for all hotels is the cost for the maximum number of individuals who can occupy the room (in many cases it is between 2 & 4 persons rates are per person). Camping: Camping grounds are available in the surroundings. Camping on the airfield and beside the airbase or in the surrounding is not allowed and strictly prohibited. For camping places check the Haslital Tourism website or place a request. Excursions The organizer provides a choice of activities that your team may participate in. 8 You may desire to rent a car for your stay in Switzerland. Or you may use the very well established rail and bus transportation services that Switzerland is famous for! Some of the excursions may necessitate a short trip by your own (rental-) car, bus or train. Check for train/bus/ship timetables. Between Meiringen City Center (most of the hotels) and the airfield there is a public bus connection, riding time 15 minutes from the railway station to the airfield. The shuttle serves you at morning and evening, departure times will be announced.
