2 2 Objective Sentinel Asia System Operation Training was initiated from 2007, and JAXA held this training in cooperation with JPT members 4 times so far. 68 trainees from 18 countries participated in this training in total. Sentinel Asia System Operation Training aims to : > Spread the procedure of Sentinel Asia Emergency Observation. > Enrich the utilization of info. provided by Sentinel Asia. > Build a human network.
3 3 Participating Countries 18 countries (35 organizations) from all over the Asia.
4 4 Characteristic The characteristic of Sentinel Asia System Operation Training is that lectures are made by using information and software that is easily accessible. Therefore what is learned can be utilized by trainees immediately upon return. > Use information which can be got from Sentinela Asia in lectures. > Use Sentinel Asia system and free software in lectures.

6 6 3rd SAS Operation Training in AIT 3rd Sentinel Asia System Operation Training was held in AIT, Bangkok, Thailand from 2 to 4 September trainees from 13 countries participated in this training.

From this training the lectures for the utilization of info. provided by Sentinel Asia were initiated in cooperation with AIT, ISRO. > Procedure of Sentinel Asia Emergency Observation Request (JAXA) > Utilizaiton of Info. provided by Sentinel Asia ALOS Data Visualization (AIT) ResourceSat-1 Data Visualization (ISRO) > Case Study for Disaster Management Flood Mapping in India (ISRO) Disaster Management in Japan (JAXA)

13 13 Future Plan We will continue to enrich the contents of training for the practical utilization by users. In addition, regarding the opening of new Sentinel Asia Step2 System, we will also focus on the utilizaion of new Sentinela Asia Step2 System in the future training.
