FIND A DIFFERENT ANGLE 4 5
Your uniqueness reflects our way of teaching. Benilde believes that each student is endowed by the Creator with talents and gifts, which the College nurtures in accordance with the individual s learning style. 6 I 7
The College continues the mission started by St. John Baptist de La Salle and St. Benilde Romançon by making innovative education accessible to the poor and to diverselygifted learners. 8 CORE 9
In his time, St. La Salle created a community of Christian schools throughout France. But what he s actually done is transform the structure and system of education across four centuries all over the world, a legacy for which he was proclaimed Patron Saint of Teachers. 10 FOUNDER 11
Achievement is not about who you are nor where you came from. In Benilde, it is about achieving extraordinary feats in your everyday tasks. St. Benilde Romançon grew up in the plains of Thuret, France as an ordinary farm boy. He taught people of all ages and from all walks of life. But most of all he loved teaching children a love that kept him in the classroom for 40 years. Pope Pius XI described St. Benilde s influence saying, Sanctity does not consist in doing extraordinary things, but in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. 12 CODE 13
Benilde s innovation is fueled by the diversity of our students. What our learners taught us is that traditional education is not for everyone. Benilde traces its origin to the Career Development Program (CDP) of De La Salle University. Under the leadership of Br. Andrew Gonzalez FSC, the CDP night school for working students was opened in Over the years, Benilde has established itself at the forefront of innovative educational institutions, serving students with diverse backgrounds and talents. 14 EVOLUTION 15
When Benilde was founded, it was envisioned to be the center of innovation in the De La Salle University System. That is why the College s legal name is Lasallian Educational Innovators Foundation. Today, as Benilde continues to grow in terms of population and physical facilities, its spirit of innovation and creativity propels it towards becoming the school of choice for students who know better. Br. Victor A. Franco FSC President, INNOVATION 17
Three hundred years since St. La Salle taught his first student in France, his philosophy of education now extends far beyond his first classroom. Today, the La Salle Worldwide Network spans 1,500 institutions in 82 countries. This global Lasallian family, unified by a commitment to the Lasallian Mission, nurtures a connection that transcends gender, culture, age, and class. 18 NETWORK 19

The Taft Campus houses computer laboratories equipped with the latest software and a high-speed Internet facility to support the academic requirements of Management, Information Technology, Multidisciplinary Studies, and Deaf Education students. Laboratories and studios are designed to stimulate learners to think, discover, and create. 22 HERITAGE 23 23
