1 Fiberglass MERV 1-4 Disposable Air Filter HVAC - PANEL AIR FILTERS The F312 disposable panel filters are designed to withstand the demands of tough industrial and commercial applications. Purolator assures filter durability by utilizing construction features not found in traditional designs. Frame -- Purolator F312 frames are produced using post consumer recycled materials. The unique Monobond pinch frame concept involves a one piece frame sealed to the media under heat and pressure. This construction feature produces a continuous bond of media to board around the periphery of the frame, eliminating weak corners and air bypass. The use of a high tensile strength polyethylene binder increases the integrity of the seal, allowing the filter to withstand varying temperatures and humidity levels. When compared to traditional designs, the filter s notched frame corners allow units to interlock, providing up to 33% savings on warehouse space and freight costs. Media -- Purolator F312 filters are manufactured with superior grade fiberglass media to guarantee full depth loading and high dust holding capacity. A computer controlled manufacturing process assures a uniform gradient density pattern in the media. To enhance filtration capability and prevent migration of finer particles, the filter media has a skin backing and is evenly coated with a gelled adhesive. Application -- Purolator s F312 filters perform best in conditions where large quantities of lint and dust are present. Ideally suited for residential, commercial, or light industrial use, the polyester media was developed for situations where synthetic media products are required. Frame -- The P312 frame is produced using post consumer materials. The unique Monobond pinch frame concept involves a one piece frame sealed to the media under heat and pressure. These machines are self renewing, offering a new and clean section of air filter media either manually or automatically. The Airguard replacement roll fits all existing requirements without modification, and filtration performance is guaranteed to equal or surpass original equipment. Fiberglass and Synthetic media for every application Fiberglass Media For years, the most popular of all air filter media, literally miles and miles of fiberglass strands reinforced with a thermosetting bonding agent, form this highly resilient blanket. Type CF -- Where the customer preference for economy is paramount, CF Media is made with a lighter weight fiber content. Type YTS -- YTS delivers more for the dollar spent in media. This media outperforms virtually all competitive roll filter media. It is recommended also where velocities are at 500 FPM and normal dirt conditions are present. Type SHP -- A specialty fiberglass media, this highly dense air filter blanket will perform under the most severe conditions. It is recommended where velocities are extreme and dirt loads are either very heavy or unpredictable. 7

8 HVAC - AUTO ROLLS Fiberglass and Synthetic MERV 5 Auto Rolls Synthetic Media For those customers preferring a synthetic air filter media, Airguard offers four styles. Constructed from high loft bulk fibers of post consumer recycled polyester fibers, synthetic media has increased steadily in popularity, particularly in the food, pharmaceutical, and electronic components industries. Type DSF (1/2") -- The most widely used synthetic auto roll media, the purchase price is approximately equal to comparable glass rolls. Recommended where air velocities are 500 FPM and dirt loads are normal. Type DMC (1") -- A specially designed, heavy weight polyester synthetic media, Type DMC is especially well suited for industrial applications, or other installations where airborne dirt is heavy. A fully lofted media furnished with a scrim net backing make this an appropriate choice for more extreme conditions. Type DL-I (1") -- This unique media is recommended where dirt loads are heavy and velocities are above normal. Type DL-1 delivers high dirt arrestance values. Type DL-II (2") -- This thick resilient blanket has the performance characteristics of high quality fiberglass with the advantages of a synthetic media. High dust holding and high arrestance characterize this media. Airguard manufactures roll filter replacements for all machines, and this guide is offered for assistance in identifying the proper core when system identification is not possible through other means. 20 HVAC - PLEATED AIR FILTERS Standard Capacity MERV 8 Self-Supported Pleated Air Filter Specifications 1.0 Scope This specification covers self supported-pleated panel filters that are a component of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. 2.0 Construction The filters shall consist of a self-supporting pleated media pack contained in a die cut beverage board frame. 2.1 Media The media shall consist of 100% synthetic fibers. 2.2 Media Pack The media shall be formed into uniformly shaped pleats with equal height measured from pleat apex to apex. The media pack shall be self-supporting, without the use of metal backing. The media pack shall maximize surface area to ensure adhesion with the stabilizer support straps and die cut diagonal support straps. [[ The media pack and die cut frame dimensions shall be equal to completely seal the pack inside the filter. The edges of the pack shall be roughed to allow complete adhesion to the frame. 2.3 Filter Frame The pleated media pack shall be contained in a frame made from a single-piece of die cut beverage board with high wet-strength characteristics. The die cut frame shall fully overlap around the entire perimeter of the filter. Diagonal support members shall provide support for the media pack on the air-leaving side. The die cut frame shall interlock in the corners, providing additional strength and rigidity. 2.4 Media Pack Adhesive The entire inside surface of the die cut frame shall be coated with a water-repellent adhesive to bond the pack inside the frame on all four edges. The pleat tips shall be bonded to the diagonal support members at all points of contact on the air-leaving side. The adhesive shall be water-repellent and maintain its bonding characteristics when wet. Operating Temperature Limits: Maximum operating temperature is 150 o F (65 o C Specifications 1.0 Scope This specification covers self supported-pleated panel filters that are a component of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. 2.0 Construction The filters shall consist of a self-supporting pleated media pack contained in a die cut beverage board frame. 2.1 Media The media shall consist of 100% synthetic fibers. 2.2 Media Pack The media shall be formed into uniformly shaped pleats with equal height measured from pleat apex to apex. The media pack shall be self-supporting, without the use of metal backing. The media pack shall maximize surface area to ensure adhesion with the stabilizer support straps and die cut diagonal support straps. Media and Support The filter media is a special 1/4" thick, high density ultra-fine fiberglass reinforced by a woven fiberglass mesh. These carbon-loaded pleated filters clean the air by removing airborne molecular contaminants present at levels less than one particle per million. Hi efficiency MERV 7: Small (20 x 50 mesh) carbon particles and pleated configuration maximize adsorbent surface area Low pressure drop: Uniform dispersion of carbon throughout media, not just on surface, lets air flow freely Longer filter life, minimal shedding/dusting: thermal bonding of media to carbon exposes maximum adsorbent surface area More adsorbent: pound for pound, our carbon media is six times more effective than competitive GAC carbons Applications The Purolator Hi-E 40 CB filter is recommended for typical IAQ settings of 1ppm or less. Specific applications include air conditioning filters, furnace filters, heating vents, air intakes, air purification devices, and ozone removal devices. Media A non-woven dual layer pleated filter media composed of synthetic fibers makes up the Hi-E 40 CB media. The media of the Hi-E 40 CB filter is so stiff with carbon that it is actually self-supporting, and requires no external wire reinforcements. Our top-grade carbon provides six times the adsorbent surface area of standard GAC carbon, making it vastly more effective, efficient, and long-lasting. No adhesive is used in the media: Fine mesh carbon granules are bonded to the synthetic fibers by a unique thermal process that requires no adhesive, and blinds less than 1.5% of each carbon particle s effective surface area. As a result, more than 98.5% of the carbon s surface is exposed to contaminated air, resulting in maximum gas adsorbing capacity and efficiency. This bonding method also features minimal dust release. The pleated configuration of the Hi-E 40 CB media also increases the filter s exposed surface area, thereby providing a higher overall efficiency by expanding its capability to adsorb contaminants. Frame The Hi-E 40 CB filter elements are enclosed in a two-piece heavy duty, high-wet-strength beverage board frame.
