6 On-Sphere Interactivity Pufferfish offer a unique range of on-sphere touch modules, to convert the spherical displays to a touch sensitive surface. The on-sphere touch modules are comprised of a hardware add-on, with associated software, and are available for the M and XL ranges. Deploy PufferSphere M units with touch-enabled surfaces to create interactive displays in brighter spaces; trade shows, marketing suites and corporate receptions. Harness the magnetism of the sphere to draw traffic and facilitate exploration of key messaging and achievements. Amplify the impact by coupling the high-resolution model with onsphere touch to create stunning interactive globes and other information-driven applications with finger-point accuracy. Interactive Compatibility The PufferSphere range is compatible with a wide range of interactive technologies, and we are always keen to help our customers in pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved. Couple the PufferSphere with flat touch screen displays, tablets and phones, ranging from a single control position to multiple stations. Combine with gesture-based technologies like Kinect, Leap Motion, and a range of optical tracking systems, to put the sphere and the content in the hands of your audience. Add another level of wonder to your events, parties and launches by delivering touch-sensitive PufferSphere XL displays to create large-format sculptural elements that your guests can augment as they please. 7 Media and Content PufferWarp App Basic Video Playback Over the years we ve learnt that you want a quick and simple way to get your content onto the sphere. Our PufferWarp app does exactly that. Simply place your 16:9 videos into the folder system and your content will be automatically windowed for the sphere. If you want to go the extra mile and deliver some content designed especially for the spherical space, then the PufferWarp will also accept 2:1 and ready-spherical movies, so you can get the right mix of standard marketing videos and spherical stings. template Applications We understand that not all of our partners will have the ability to undertake bespoke programming and app build in house. Furthermore, we understand that even when they do, not all projects can cope with the costs involved in bespoke app development. For this reason we have created a growing range of template applications for the most popular spherical applications, each of which are fully customisable via simple XML edits. To make things even easier, we have designed a tiered-pricing system so that you pay a rate proportional to the usage with single day rates, weekly rates and permanent licenses all available. Pufferfish ItamAe Curate and Create Pufferfish s new Itamae software gives you the combine the PufferSphere with a standard touch screen quickly and easily. Use Itamae s simple GUI to drag and drop resources, associating movies for the sphere with videos, pictures and slides for the touch screen. Add buttons to the touch screen to add levels of depth for both displays. Automatically generate rotation controls to enable users to rotate the whole spherical composition in real time. Once you have created your exhibit, Itamae will neatly package your exhibit ready to be shared between the PufferSphere and touch screen. On-Sphere Development Routes Unity SDK Pufferfish are able to provide a full SDK for developing interactive spherical displays within the Unity environment. The SDK contains a Unity project with four scenes, associated C# scripts and CG shaders. It is aimed at giving professional developers access to a tried and tested method of conceptualising the spherical space, best practice when building for the sphere and transposing between Cartesian and polar coordinates. Compatible Media Servers For full show control integrate direct with Hippotizer, D3, Catalyst, Maxedia or Cooloux. Watchout and other media servers can be enabled. Adobe After Effects Create full spherical movies using FullDome plugin for Adobe After Effects. Playback from any standard PC or Mac via itunes or other player. Generative Content Generative content can also be developed in OSG, Quartz, Processing or Blender. Software Development Pufferfish are able to supply an SDK for Unity with associated C# scripts and CG shaders. The SDK provides a valuable conceptual framework and best practice guide for programmers, and remains a useful roadmap for programmers wishing to take other development routes through DirectX and OpenGL.
