1 [Setup procedure for Windows 95/98/Me] a. One Print Server. b. One external AC power adapter. c. One setup CD. (For Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP). d. One user s manual (included quick guide). a. Turn off the printer s power. b. Use the USB cable to connect printer server with your printer. c. Plug UTP line and power adapter. d. Done. Step3: Install protocol in Windows 95/98/Me: a. Please make sure what protocol that you need, we could use IPX/SPX. TCP/IP. NetBEUI in Windows 95/98/Me. b. If it needs to add new protocol, the procedure is: Select Control Panel Select Network(1) Select Add(2) Select Protocol(3) Select Microsoft from the Manufacture list(4) Select one protocol what you need(5) Done. Step4: Install driver for Print Server in Windows 95/98/Me: b. It will appear two utilities, one is Network Print Monitor, and the other is PSAdmin. Step5: Add new Printer s driver: If it was a new printer type, please select [add printer] and complete this procedure. Setup procedure as below: a. Select Local Printer. b. Select the appropriate printer manufacturer. c. Select printer type. d. Select LPT1. e. Type printer name or use default. f. In print test page, select No. g. Done. Step6: Configure print server: a. Select printer name what you want. b. Select Properties. c. Select Details. d. Select Add Port. e. In Other, select Network Print Port. 1

2 f. It will appear a picture as below. g. Select Print Server. (If there are two print servers in your LAN, please confirm it s Node ID and h. Done. 2

Step4: Install driver for Print Server in Windows NT: b. It will appear two utilities, one is Network Print Monitor, and the other is PSAdmin. Step5: Add new Printer s driver: If it was a new printer type, please select add printer and complete this procedure. Setup procedure as below: a. Select local printer. b. The Add Printer Wizard screen will appear, Select My Computer. c. In available ports, select LPT1. d. Select the appropriate printer manufacturer. e. Select printer type. f. Type printer name or use default. g. In Printer sharing, click next. h. In printing testing page, select No. i. Done. Step6: Configure print server: a. Select Printer that you want to configure. b. Select Properties. c. Select Port. d. Select Add port. e. In available ports, select Network Print Port. f. It will appear picture as below. 3

If it needs to add new protocol, the procedure as below: Control Panel Network and Dial-up Connections Local Area Connection Properties Install Protocol Add In Internet component, choose protocol what you need. Done. Step4: Install driver for Print Server in Windows 2000/XP: b. It will appear two utilities, one is Network Print Monitor, and the other is PSAdmin. Step5: Add new Printer s driver: If it was a new printer type, please select [add printer] and complete this procedure. Setup procedure as below: a. Select Local Printer. 4

5 b. Select LPT1 in available ports. c. Select the appropriate printer manufacturer. d. Select printer type. e. Type printer name or use default. f. In Printer Sharing, click Next. g. In Print Test Page, select No. h. Done. Step6: Configure print server: a. Select Printer that you want to configure. b. Open Properties. c. Select Ports. d. Select Add Port. e. In available ports, select Network Print Port. f. Select New Port. g. It will appear a picture as below. h. Select Print Server. Step3: Install driver for Print Server in Windows 95/98/Me and Windows NT/2000/XP: b. It will appear two utilities, one is Network Print Monitor, and the other is PSAdmin. Please select PSAdmin. Step4: Configure print server in NetWare System: a. Log into your NetWare File Server as a Supervisor (Admin) or equivalent. b. Select Program Files in windows PC started menu. c. Select PSAdmin, and then it will appear a picture as below. d. Select Print Server. (If there are two print servers in your LAN, please confirm it s Node ID and e. Click Wizard button < >. f. Select NetWare Wizard. g. Select the NetWare File Server to which the print server device will be attached. 6

7 h. Type in a Print Queue Name. (Each print queue corresponds to each print port of the print server.) i. Type in a Print Server Name. (Note: This name isn t the same with NetWare Server Name.) j. Done. [How to upgrade the firmware of Print Server] Step1: Make sure the file name of BIN, and download the newest version. Step2: Put BIN file into C:\Program Files\Network Print Monitor\. Step3: Execute PSAdmin program, and choose a print server that you want to upgrade. Step4: Click the upgrade button < > on tool bar. Step5: Select General Upgrade, and Next. Step6: Wait for upgrade successful message. 7
