Today I will introduce Project Earth Rock and explore: How to use Project Earth Rock in the classroom How Project Earth Rock supports sustainability in the c lum Ways of using Project Earth Rock outside of the classroom The benefits for primary schools of using it

Who am I? My name is Jess Gold Singer/song-writer/educator Chief Executive of School Councils UK Started Project Earth Rock in 2009

What do I do? Song-writing workshops in schools Tour The Animated Earth Show I produce Project Earth Rock Deliver conference workshops

Who are the creators? Jess Gold George Christie Leon Fenster Singer, song-writer and environmental educator Composer, music producer and video maker Artist, animator and architect

Why did we make it? We wanted to create a music and animation scheme of work that supports: the growth of a sustainable culture to help us avoid the worst impacts of climate change singing in the primary school classroom without requiring the support of a music specialist engaging science and geography learning children and staff with making healthy day to day choices

What are people saying? Project Earth Rock is a fun way of teaching sustainable development education in primary schools. The pack will help schools working towards their Eco-Schools green flag, by providing ideas for action planning as well as quick and easy ways to integrate Eco-Schools themes into the curriculum. The catchy melodies, memorable lyrics and witty animation will be greatly enjoyed by pupils and staff alike. This resource is perfect for schools that want more music in their classrooms. Julie Wilson, Education and Learning Manager Keep Scotland Beautiful / Eco Schools Scotland

Chorus Disposable means We throw it away or maybe recycle it Nothing s disposable It s just waste!

Verse 2 It only takes three months To make a lot of waste The same weight as your body All the things we throw away So throughout the year If you times that all by four That s four bodies worth of waste Imagine that on the kitchen floor!

Chorus Disposable means We throw it away or maybe recycle it Nothing s disposable It s just waste!
