71 Chapter 10 - Appendix IPBX configuration example for UCME and UC500 Introduction This example describes a configuration for Cisco voice systems: Cisco Unified Communication Manager Express (UCME) and Cisco Unified Communication 500 Series (UC500). This enables T.38 support for Fax communication with QuesCom Gateways. In this example, we use a specific numbers DDI number on the Cisco voice system and dedicate them as a fax number for a specific user. We use a range of DDI numbers that we translate to extensions 250x. (2500 to 2509). For example: E.164 number has to be translated to 2502, and so on. Cisco configuration In the Cisco voice system global configuration, add : Add also the following dial-peer to route the voice and fax calls toward the QuesCom Gateway: Note: We need the incoming called-number. command so that calls from QuesCom (for outbound fax for example) hit this dial-peer to receive the appropriate service to get across the packet network (fax protocol T.38). QuesCom configuration T.38 Fax To feature: Define QuesCom services as described in the section 7.3 above, and set the Called Prefix Number to 250 in the Service Form, section Origin, and Assign Caller IDs to Users for each fax number (ex: 2502) and enable fax service for each user. See section 5.2 above. The fax will be delivered to the address configured for this user. Print to T.38 Fax feature: Define QuesCom services as described in the section 7.4 above. The destination device must be the Cisco voice system. QuesCom Page 71/79
