3 Introduction FS400 is an all in one solution build on top of a QuesCom 400. It has 4 GSM ports for sending and receiving SMS. It can get either a 2 PRI card as well as 4 or 8 BRI cards embedded. They are going to be used to connect PBX either in passthrough or on a dedicated ISDN link. FS400 is preloaded with all necessary software for sending and receiving Fax and SMS per . It has a capacity of 4 simultaneous fax for BRI configurations and 16 simultaneous fax for PRI configuration

4 1.1. Fax receiving Process The QuesCom appliance can intercepts an incoming call. If a calling fax machine carrier is detected, fax session is established to receive the fax in a file. Fax are transformed in PDF and ed (SMTP) as an attachment to the recipient s address (this address being associated to the phone number on which the fax arrived). 7 1.5. Architecture in Pass-through on ISDN ISDN connection The Pass-through architecture is when the QuesCom appliance is connected between the PSTN and the PBX (by PRI or BRI lines). In case of QuesCom appliance failure, there is a bypass and calls continue to be placed and received to the PBX.
