2 Automotive industry in the Slovak Republic 1. Before Slovakia as part of Czechoslovakia, focused on heavy engineering (mainly production for the needs of the army), strong position of suppliers for the OEMs in the Czech Rep., first two plants for the finalization of PCs and LCVs (BAZ and TAZ) were built, political and economic change, arrival of the first foreign investor - Volkswagen AG, development of mass production at a high level, the arrival of global suppliers, 5. Year 2002 VW SK got of a Touareg project, a significant increase in the number of suppliers, the arrival of two new car manufacturers Peugeot Citroen and Kia Motors, a gradual increase in car production almost by 300%, development of suppliers, 8. Year new Volkswagen New Small Family cars production and efforts to strengthen productivity of other OEMs increased year on year production of Slovakia by 44.9% in Production of cars moving just below one million cars per year. 9. 8 The necessity of reforms in the education system Demand for employees to ensure the development in horizon of 5 years of which 75% for the rehabilitation of those who retire the other 25% to secure economic growth The demand for employees with university education is 31%, with secondary education 69% (ie with secondary education) (44,100 secondary educated workers per year). 16 Current or future gaps in the market and business opportunity According to the OEMs and suppliers associated in the Automotive industry Association of Slovak Republic and in line with strategy to ensure completeness of the supply chain, Slovakia is lack of : forges / forgings, foundry and metallurgy producers / castings, mechanical engineering suppliers / machined parts, press shops / sheet metal (Fe, Al) Also in plastics there will be potential to invest especially in big plastic modules and plastic interior and exterior components

17 Current or future gaps in the market and business opportunity Suppliers of modules and units (engines, gearboxes) will easily find their application in Slovakia as well as toolmakers, heat treatment of parts and contractors with experience in new materials aluminum, composites and magnesium

Skilled and highly motivated workforce: - carmakers achievements within the factor of internal competitions; Best Practices - Law on Vocational Education and Training - created space for industry to prepare the workforce as required; great interest among businesses and schools; already in the term of two years can be expected the improvement of high school graduates The first project, which aims to increase the employment of the graduates of universities with a view to legislative changes towards compulsory practice of college students; thesis (dual university education)
