Acknowledge receipt of this addendum in the space provided on the PROPOSAL FORM, Failure to do so may subject Bidder to disqualification. List of attachments: 1 page The original RFP Documents are updated by the information as follows: 1. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Q /Q.-302 shows cabinet type T48C. Per the casework legend on Q-002, there is no C" type for the tall cabinets. Please clarify what to provide for this cabinet. RESPONSE: Cabinets in 10/Q-302 are to be T48CS 2. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Q-304 3/Q-304, please provide detail 23/Q-301 as referenced at both the right and left sides of this elevation. RESPONSE: Detail 23 from Sheet Q-301 is attached. 3. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Q-202A Room 2105 on Q-202A, please clarify what material the countertop on the south wall is to be made from. Is it stainless steel to match the casework in this room? RESPONSE: Yes, the countertop will be stainless steel. RFP No /01 Addendum No. 10 Page 1 of 6

2 4. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Q-303 Elevations 2, 3 and 4 on Q-303, please clarify which spec section is responsible for the "Lighted Mineral Display Cases with Glass Shelving". Are these to be included under Display Cases or as part of Wood Lab Casework? RESPONSE: Elevations 2, 3 and 4 on Q-303 will be covered by Wood Laboratory Casework RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Q-002 Please clarify what is required as part of the "FV" and "DDV" vent cabinets as shown on Q-002. It appears from this drawing that some type of electrical switch or outlet is shown above the cabinet doors. Are there any other special items that need to be incorporated into these cabinets? RESPONSE: FV ventilated cabinet is 35" tall (Z-11") DDV ventilated cabinet is 31" tall (2'-7") 6. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Q and 28/Q-301, please clarify which specification section is responsible for the framing below the wall cabinets. RESPONSE: These spaces are chases behind the base cabinets with wall cabinets above is responsible for any framing necessary to secure the cabinets to the wall. 7. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Q and ll /Q-305 show wall shelves (WS16) mounted on a window elevation. Please confirm that shelves are not required at these locations as there is no way to mount them to the windows. RESPONSE: In both locations shelves will be mounted on upright supports that are mounted to the table rather than to the wall. This type of shelf standard is commonly used on mobile laboratory tables or equipment carts. RFP No /01 Addendum No. 10 Page 2 of 6

3 8. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Q-308, Q-204A 14/Q-308, please confirm that the only part of this elevation that is to be stainless steel is the scullery sink. The floor plan for this room (4105) on Q-204A would seem to indicate that the entire west wall countertop is to be stainless steel, while the scullery sink is labeled as epoxy resin. RESPONSE: Correct. Only the scullery sink is stainless steel. All other counters on this wall are epoxy. 9. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: A-201A For Additive Alternate No. 1, drawing A-201A, room 1120 lists 12 different genomics program areas that are to be included as part of the alternate price. For the following areas, there does not seem to be any Room Narratives, floor plans or other information included as part of Appendix B: areas 2,3,7,10 and 12. Please provide information for these missing areas. RESPONSE: The areas have slightly different names on Sheet A-201A and the Appendix B. Area 2 (Sheet A-201 A) Equipment Room = Part of the teaching lab page 2-19 Appendix B. Area 3 Sequencer Room = Sequencing Lab p Area 7 Warm Room = 37 degree Chamber Alcove p Area 10 Wash Room = Autoclave Room p Area 12 Office Space = approximately 330 nsf of faculty offices per the other faculty offices in the building. 10. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Appendix B For Additive Alternate No. 1, pages 2-4,2-19,2-24,2-30, 2-34,2-52,2-56 and 2-60 of Appendix B, please provide elevations or other information indicating what the required configurations are for all of the base, wall and tali lab cabinets in these rooms. Not enough information is given to adequately price these areas. RESPONSE: For the purpose of the Add Alternate, the casework in Appendix B will be Metal Laboratory Casework Section , with epoxy countertops. Price base cabinets as 50% drawers and 50% doors, two rows of adjustable reagent rack shelving over the island benches, and wall cabinets with glass doors where indicated. 4 11. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Appendix B For Additive Alternate No. 1, page 2-19 of Appendix B, please indicate what lab plumbing and electrical services are required at the two item 11 fume hoods. RESPONSE: Provide CW and a cup sink, and gas similar to the fume hoods in the building. 12. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Appendix B For Additive Alternate No. 1, page 2-24 of Appendix B, please indicate what lab plumbing and electrical services are required at the two item 10 fume hoods. RESPONSE: Provide CW and a cup sink, and gas similar to the other fume hoods in the building. 13. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Small Steam Autoclave The sterilizer cycle described is those for a hospital. Laboratory sterilizers typically have more flexibility of cycle programming and can also run liquid cycles. Please advise if the sterilizer should be healthcare sterilizers or laboratory sterilizer with liquid cycle capabilities. Please advise by addendum. RESPONSE: Sterilizer should be a laboratory sterilizer with liquid cycle capability. 14. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: The specification for the tall glassware washer is based around a Healthcare Instrument Washer, Reliance Synergy Instrument Washer. Most instrument washers are not designed for glassware washing or have very limited capabilities. Please advise what is required - a glassware washer or an instrument washer. Please advise by addendum. RESPONSE: Provide glassware washer not instrument washer. RFP No /01 Addendum No. 10 Page 4 of 6

5 15. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Please advise if Dl water is available for final rinse of load for the washer. Please advise by addendum. RESPONSE: Yes. Plumbed RO/DI water will be available in the building. 16. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Is a dryer required for glassware processing? Please advise by addendum. RESPONSE: A glassware dryer is not needed. The glassware washer should have a drying cycle. 17. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: Please advise if the glassware washer/instrument washer hard connected to the exhaust/ventilation system. Please advise by addendum. RESPONSE: The glassware washer will be ventilated by an indirect connection to the building exhaust system. 18. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: 10/14/2011 Small Steam Autoclaves Specification Section specifies the autoclave is new and is Contractor Furnished. Drawing Q-001, Laboratory Plan Legend shows equipment dotted in is OF. The autoclave on drawing Q-204A, Room 4109 is dotted in as well as elevation 27/Q-307. Please advise if the autoclave is Contactor Furnished or Owner Furnished. Please advise by addendum. RESPONSE: The Autoclave is OF/CI as indicated in the equipment matrix in Appendix E. Drawing Q- 001, Laboratory Plan Legend shows equipment dotted in is OF. The glassware washer on drawing Q-204A, Room 4109 is dotted in as well as elevation 27/Q-307. Please advise if the glassware washer is Contactor Furnished or Owner Furnished. Please advise by addendum. RESPONSE: The washer is OF/CI per the Equipment Matrix in Appendix E. 20. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: 10/14/2011 Specification Section specifies the under counter glassware washer/dryer is new and is Contractor Furnished. Pages 3,6,16 of Preliminary Equipment list shows the under counter glassware washer as Owner Furnished/Contractor installed based on the color scheme; green. Please advise if the glassware washer is Contactor Furnished or Owner Furnished/Contractor Installed. Please advise by addendum. RESPONSE: The undercounter glassware washer will be OFCI per Appendix E. 21. RESPONSE REQUIRED BY: 10/14/2011 Specification Section, paragraph 2.2 specifies model G7835 for the under counter glassware washer/dryer. The Equipment Matrix lists model G7883CD for the under counter glassware washer. Please advise which model of glassware washer is required. Please advise by addendum. RESPONSE: The undercounter glasswasher will be Miele G7883CD. This item is OFCI per the equipment matrix in Appendix E. All other terms and conditions of RFP No /01 to remain the same.
