1 Mrs Donna Chambers Principal Mrs. Donna Chambers is the principal at Clendenin Elementary School. Mrs. Chambers and her husband live in Pinch and they have two children. Their daughter Megan is 18 years old and attends West Virginia State University and their son Travis and their daughter-in-law Rachel live in Millwood, WV. Mrs. Chambers is a graduate of West Virginia State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a graduate of Marshall University where she earned a Master of Arts degree in Reading Education and School Administration. Mrs. Chambers began her career as a 3 rd grade teacher at Glenwood Elementary. She also taught Title I Reading at Pratt Elementary and 1 st grade at Marmet Elementary. Mrs. Chambers was the assistant principal at Elk Elementary Center before coming to Clendenin Elementary as principal. In her spare time, Mrs. Chambers enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and walking. Mrs. Kathy Holcomb is the secretary at Clendenin Elementary. She has been at Clendenin for 29 years and in her current position as secretary for 28. Mrs. Holcomb attended Morris Harvey College. Mrs. Hunt loves teaching Clendenin students how to be healthy. Mrs. Cathy Clendenin Headstart/LEAP Mrs. Cathy Clendenin is the Head Start/LEAP teacher at Clendenin Elementary. She has been a teacher at Clendenin for six years and has been teaching Head Start/LEAP for four years. She has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, K- 8 and a Master's degree in Reading both from Marshall University. Mrs. Clendenin has earned an additional masters in Preschool Special Needs from West Virginia University. Mrs. Clendenin resides in Clendenin with her husband, Casey, and sons, Cole and Trent.
3 Mrs. Kim Ervin HEADSTART Mrs. Ami Palmer is a Kindergarten teacher at Clendenin Elementary. She has been teaching for ten years and has been at Clendenin for seven years, teaching Kindergarten for five years. Mrs. Palmer attended Wheeling Jesuit University and West Virginia State College and earned a degree in Elementary Education, K-8. Mrs. Ami Palmer Kindergarten Mrs. Palmer resides in Clendenin with her husband, Derek, and daughters Delaney Zayne and Amaira Michelle. She has three dogs and one cat. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, walking and crafts. Mrs. Judy Rhule Kindergarten Mrs. Judith Rhule is a Kindergarten teacher at Clendenin Elementary. She has been teaching thirty years, all at Clendenin. She has taught Kindergarten for the past seven years. Mrs. Rhule is a graduate of Concord College and holds a BS degree in Education.
4 Mrs. Valerie Zornes Swiger began teaching at Clendenin Elementary in 1992 in Kindergarten where she spent 10 years until moving to her current position of First Grade teacher for the last 9 years. Mrs. Valerie Swiger 1st Grade Mrs. Kathie McCroskey 1st Grade Mrs. Swiger is a graduate of West Virginia State College where she earned a BA in Elementary Education. She received her MA from WVU plus 30 hours in Communication Studies. Mrs. Swiger currently resides in Clarksburg, yes that s right, Clarksburg with her husband and her dog, LillyBell. When she is not driving to or from work, she enjoys reading, watching classic movies, crafts, and shopping for treasures at yard sales and the local thrift stores around Clarksburg. She also enjoys collecting anything and everything related to the Peanuts Comic Strip. Mrs. Kathie McCroskey is a first grade teacher at Clendenin Elementary. She has been teaching for thirty-one years and has been at Clendenin teaching first grade for the past twenty-one years. Mrs. McCroskey attended West Virginia University, West Virginia State College, and West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. She holds Bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Social Studies, and Masters degree in Special Education with concentrations in Behavior Disorder and Mental Impairment. Mrs. McCroskey resides in Amma with her husband, Jeff. Her daughter, Chelsea attends WVU in Morgantown. Mrs. McCroskey has a dog named Jasmine. In her spare time she enjoys snow skiing and gardening.

She has taught first, second, third, and fourth grades at Clendenin Elementary School. Mrs. Alysia Moody 2nd Grade She attended Glenville State College earning her BA degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education. and West Virginia University earning her MA in Communication Studies. She has 45 addition hours of graduate studies from Marshall University. Mrs. Bettie Kee is a third grade teacher at Clendenin Elementary. Mrs. Bettie Kee 3rd Grade Mrs. Kee attended Glenville State College, Morris Harvey, and West Virginia University. She has earned a Bachelor's degree in Education and Master's degree in Communication. Mrs. Kee resides in Clendenin with her husband, John. She has two children, Jennifer and Nathan. Mrs. Kee enjoys basketball, walking, and swimming.

7 Mrs. Jackie Ward is a fourth grade teacher at Clendenin Elementary. She has been teaching for twenty five years and has been at Clendenin for eight years. Mrs. Ward attended WV Tech, WV State and WV College of Graduate Studies. She has earned degrees in Elementary Education 1-6, Social Studies 4-8, and a MA in Reading K-12. Mrs. Jackie Ward 4th Grade Mrs. Ward resides in Charleston with her husband Gary. She has two children, Kelly and Gary, and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Ward's daughter Kelly is a First Sargent and is currently serving in Afghanistan with the United States Army. In her spare time Mrs. Ward enjoys reading and traveling Mrs. Emily Hardway 5th Grade Mrs. Wanda Ross 5th Grade Mrs. Wanda Ross is a fifth grade teacher at Clendenin Elementary. She has been teaching for nineteen years,all of which have been at Clendenin. Mrs. Ross has attended West Virginia State College, Marshall University, and the University of WV COGS. She has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in secondary math. Mrs. Ross resides in Amma with her husband, Bill. She has three children, Nora McPherson, Billy Ross, and Ricky Ross. She also has three grandchildren, Morgan McPherson, Forrest Harper, and Kacie Ross. Mrs. Ross has three dogs and four Quarter Horses. In her spare time, Mrs. Ross enjoys traveling, reading and horse shows.

This is her second year at Clendenin. She received both her bachelors and masters degree in Communication Disorders from Marshall University. Mrs. Miller is a graduate of Marshall University and COGS with degrees in Elementary Education 1-8, Mathematics 1-9, and School Psychology. Mrs. Miller resides in Elkview with her husband, Gary, and son James. Mrs. Miller's hobbies include stained glass, boating, hiking, gardening, and traveling. Mrs. Carmela Ryan-Thompson is a Title I Math teacher at Clendenin Elementary. She has been teaching for twenty-eight years, and this is her third year at Clendenin. Mrs. Thompson attended WV Tech and West Virginia State University. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in math. Mrs. Carmela Ryan- Thompson Title I Math Mrs. Thompson resides in Pinch with her husband Chester, daughter, Beth and her father, who makes his home with her. She also has a daughter Jill, living in Ohio. Mrs. Thompson loves to read, travel and ride her horse, Black Dahlia, who is expecting a foal in May. Mr. Paul Moore is the Elementary Music Specialist at Clendenin Elementary. He has thirty-five years experience and has been at Clendenin for five years. Mr. Moore is a graduate of Conservatory of Music: University of Cincinnati, and WV College of Graduate Studies. Mr. Paul Moore Music Mr. Moore resides in South Charleston with his wife, Linda. He has one son, Paul III. They have a pet named Bethanie. In Mr. Moore's spare time, he enjoys composition, writing, railroading, and painting.
11 Mrs. Janice Smith is the Librarian at Clendenin Elementary. She has been teaching for twenty five years and has been at Clendenin for nine years.
