4 Academic Performance Keep an eye on your grades! Sprott has specific CGPA requirements that you need to meet every year. You can check your CGPAs online by running an Academic Audit through Carleton Central: Carleton s grading scale: Letter Grade % Equiv. Grade Point Scale (for 1.0 credit course) A A A B B B C C C D D D F/ABS/FND Need help reading your audit? Stop by 710 DT and one of the Sprott advisors will be happy to explain it all! CGPA requirements for Good Standing and all other academic regulations are found at carleton.ca/cuuc What does CGPA mean? It stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average; and it represents the average grades that you ve earned in your courses that are counting towards your degree. More than one CGPA? Don t worry - that s normal! Overall CGPA includes all courses you complete towards your degree. Major CGPA includes only core courses required for your degree. BIB students also have a Language Core CGPA which includes only the foreign language courses. Students with a concentration will also have a Concentration CGPA which only includes the courses required for your concentration. Students with a minor will also have a Minor CGPA which only includes the courses required for your minor.

5 International Experiences BCom students can study abroad for up to 1 year at one of Carleton s partner universities, located in 30+ different countries! An international experience adds value to any concentration; and you don t need to be fluent in the language of the country in which you re studying, because courses are taught in English. As a BIB student, you re required to spend your 3 rd year at one of the 30 BIB partner universities, located in 13 different countries. This experience allows you to improve your language fluency, increase your cultural awareness, and develop a truly international perspective. Top 5 Reasons to Study Abroad! 1. experience firsthand another culture and customs 2. endless conversation points for networking 3. improve communication skills 4. develop cultural aptitude 5. travel! 4 For all of these international experiences, you ll pay regular tuition fees at Carleton and earn transfer credits to count towards your degree. You may also qualify for a Sprott study abroad scholarship or bursary. Need more information? Both BCom and BIB students planning to study abroad should bib@sprott.carleton.ca to schedule an appointment to discuss your interest! The Sprott study abroad advisor will be happy to review your options the sooner the better!
