Cheating on a Personal Finance assignment, project or test will not be tolerated and will be handled according to school policy. The following grading scale is used by Lafayette High School and the St. Joseph School District and will be used in determining grades for High School of Business students. GRADING SCALE A B C D F A % B % C % D % F 59% and below A % B 86-83% C 76-73% D 66-63% B % C % D % Required Materials The student is required to bring the following materials to every class meeting in order to effectively participate in class. Ø Wide and/or College-ruled notebook paper Ø Pen or Pencil Ø School-issued Chromebook Attendance Good attendance is necessary in Personal Finance because of the large amount of in-class work. Regardless of whether an absence is excused or unexcused, a zero will be placed into the gradebook for that day s assignment until it has been completed. Ø Attendance/Participation Policy As stated previously, attendance is mandatory. Each day will provide 20 points to be earned by doing a combination of the following: Student is present and seated by the tardy bell. Student has brought their school-issued Chromebook with them, fullycharged OR has their Chromebook charger on their person.* Student s cell phone is either relinquished to Coach Stough for the class period (to be given back to the student prior to the bell) OR is put away and not seen throughout the class period. *A Macbook will be provided for any student(s) who were not issued a Chromebook.
4 Ø Late Work Policy A student that has missed a class period has until the end of the following class period to either complete any missing assignments and/or discuss with Coach Stough a plan of action to get the assignment(s) completed in a timely fashion. Any student that has not completed/turned in any missing assignment(s) by the end of the following class period must sign up for an academic detention either before or after school in Coach Stough s room to make up said assignment(s). If a student fails to show up to their academic detention, a referral will be filled out and turned in to the office. Extra Help 1. The Academic Lab 2.
