2 ECONOMIC SYSTEMS Economic Systems is a peer-reviewed economic journal published by the IOS in cooperation with the European Association for Comparative Economic Studies (EACES). Its focus is on the causes and consequences of institutional change and institutional diversity as well as on the analysis of reform suggestions and specific reform attempts, which is in line with the reorientation of comparative economic research. The journal contains applied theoretical and empirical papers against the background of country and region specific experiences with a traditional focus on Eastern and Southeastern Europe. In addition to regular articles, discussion forums and special editions on policy-relevant questions are also published. Founded by Hans Raupach as Jahrbuch der Wirtschaft Osteuropas (Yearbook of the Economy of Eastern Europe) in the late 1960s, this publication has been listed in Thomas Reuters Journal Citation Report since 2014 and is thus one of the few economic journals with impact factor published in Germany. Richard Frensch (managing editor), Ali M. Kutan (co-editor) Editorial assistant: Birgit Schwarz Publication frequency: Quarterly Impact factor: Language: English frensch@ios-regensburg.de
3 JAHRBÜCHER FÜR GESCHICHTE OSTEUROPAS Jahrbücher für Geschichte Osteuropas (Yearbooks of Eastern European History) is the leading German journal on the history of Eastern Europe. Published since 1936, the journal is international in character with high quality standards. Its articles are also available electronically through JSTOR. Around half of the essays are from outside the German-speaking area and/or are written in English. An impartial double-blind review process involving international experts guarantees high standards. The extensive review section accounts for about one third of each journal. The online review supplement jgo.e-reviews, also published quarterly, provides up-to-date book reviews. This online supplement is a platform for those who are familiar with internet-based media and value a fast publication of their reviews. Martin Schulze Wessel, Dietmar Neutatz Copy editors: Hermann Beyer Thoma, Reinhard Frötschner Publication frequency: Quarterly Languages: German, English, French jahrbuecher@ios-regensburg.de
4 SÜDOST-FORSCHUNGEN Südost-Forschungen (Southeastern Studies) is the periodical publication of the IOS for historical research on Southeastern Europe. Published since 1936 as a yearbook, the journal is interdisciplinary and open to contributions ranging from the Byzantine era to contemporary history. The extensive review section of Südost-Forschungen (also online at features a broad overview of current literature on Southeastern Europe in all relevant languages. The internationality of the authors is noteworthy, especially the large percentage of contributions from Southeastern Europe. From 1999 onwards, the journal has also been available online via CEEOL. The journal focuses on essays about the history of the societies, cultures and countries of Southeastern Europe. In addition, contributions from cognate disciplines of the humanities and social sciences are considered when directly relevant to the history of Southeastern Europe. Ulf Brunnbauer, Konrad Clewing Copy editors: Peter M. Kreuter, Christian Mady Publication frequency: Annually Languages: German, English, French sof@ios-regensburg.de
5 SÜDOSTEUROPA Südosteuropa. Journal of Politics and Society is an international, multidisciplinary journal on society and politics of Southeastern Europe since the system changes of It serves as a forum for current work in Southeast European Studies, including Political Science, Sociology, International Relations, Contemporary History, Economics, Anthropology, Law Studies, Gender Studies, and Cultural Studies. The journal focuses on the region between the Eastern part of the Adriatic Sea and of the Mediterranean, and the Black Sea. It welcomes comparative perspectives, analyses and theoretical texts with implications for adjacent regions and other world areas. In an open section, additional formats on relevant issues are printed. Book reviews are simultaneously published at The essays are available through the Central and East European Online Library (CEEOL), six months after being published.
