2 ABOUT DEPAUL DePaul is the largest Catholic and one of the largest private, nonprofit universities in the nation (founded in 1898). 24,966 students (fall 2012) Including 7,544 graduate students More than 275 undergraduate and graduate programs offered through ten colleges and schools. 3 PROGRAM INTRODUCTION Program prepares students to work for international social justice by teaching the essential theoretical frameworks of international analysis. Unlike international relations, international studies is not a single discipline and does not possess an authoritative, historically derived methodology. Students will gain cross-cultural competency and critical understandings of political economy, global history, and international society form the backbone of learning in the program. Students develop a critical and nuanced approach for participation at various levels in international civil society. Students will receive close supervision of an MA thesis and preparation for doctoral programs

14 Minimum Requirements for Acceptance into the MA Program Bachelor s degree from an accredited undergraduate institution GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Grade of B or better on an advanced modern language course (other than English) beyond the second year of college, or the equivalent score on a language placement exam For students who completed their undergraduate degree in a language other than English, a minimum TOEFL reading score of 22, writing score of 24, and total score of 80 or higher is required.
15 APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Application review begins December 15 and continues on a rolling admission basis until April 15 for the following academic year.
