1 OFFICIAL RULES FOR ROWAN UNIVERSITY, CGCE MASTER OF ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT PROSPECTIVE STUDENT SURVEY SWEEPSTATES NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances. Void outside the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and where prohibited by law. By submitting an entry, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and you acknowledge that you satisfy all sweepstakes eligibility requirements. 1. Sponsorship and Eligibility: This sweepstakes is sponsored by Rowan University, CGCE, with principal location at 201 Mullica Hill Rd., Glassboro, NJ, 08028, USA. There is no purchase necessary to enter or win. Rowan University, CGCE Master of Engineering Management Prospective Student Survey Sweepstakes (the Sweepstakes ) is open only to legal residents (and at least 18) as of September 15, Employee, interns, officers, and directors of Rowan University, CGCE or any of its subsidiaries, affiliates, representatives, consultants, contractors, legal counsel, advertising, public relations, promotional, fulfillment, and marketing agencies, web site providers, web masters, and members of their immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children, regardless of where they live) and those living in the same household are not eligible to enter or win. 2. Sweepstakes Period: The Sweepstakes period begins on October 1, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Eastern Standard Time (EST) and ends of October 30, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. EST (the Sweepstakes Period ) 3. How to Enter: Entries must be received during the Sweepstakes Period. There is one (1) way to enter: a. Complete Survey: Go to to complete the questions in full, including the questions that ask for your contact information and click submit. Limit one entry per person during the Sweepstakes Period. Normal Internet access, phone, and usage charges imposed by your online or phone service may apply. Entry must be submitted by the entrant. Bulk, automated and/or third party entries are prohibited and will be disqualified. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same address. The person submitting the Sweepstakes entry must be the authorized account holder of the address provided, otherwise, the entry may be deemed void. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than one (1) entry by using multiple and/or different identities, registrations, addresses, logins, or any other methods will void that participant s entries and that participant may be disqualified at Rowan University, CGCE s sole discretion. In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant. 1

2 The authorized account holder is the natural person assigned an address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account hold to Rowan University, CGCE or forfeit the prize. Entries specifying an invalid, non-working, or inactive address will be disqualified and ineligible to win. In the event of a dispute over the identity of a potential winner, the entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the address submitted at the time of entry, and the potential winner may be required to provide identification sufficient to show that he/she is the authorized account holder of such address. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to notify Rowan University, CGCE in writing if the entrant changes his or her or postal address during the Sweepstakes Period. Proof of submission of entry does not constitute proof of receipt of entry. All entries become the property of Rowan University, CGCE and will not be returned to the entrants. Rowan University, CGCE accepts no responsibility for submissions lost, delayed, damaged, defaced, or mislaid, howsoever caused. 4. Duties of Participants: By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and decisions of Rowan University, CGCE, which shall be final. Because these Official Rules form a binding agreement with respect to participation in this Sweepstakes, please read them carefully. If you do not agree to the Official Rules, you are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes or to win a prize. Each entrant agrees not to participate in the Sweepstakes in any manner that might: (1) infringe any third-party proprietary, intellectual property, industrial property, personal rights or other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or confidentiality obligation; or (2) otherwise violate any applicable law. 5. Limitations of Liability and Releases: By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants agree that Rowan University, CGCE and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, consultants, contractors, legal counsel, advertising, public relations, promotional, fulfillment and marketing agencies, web site providers, web masters, and their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents (the Released Parties ) are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Sweepstakes; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of entries; or (5) any injury or damage to the persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the entrant s participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. 2

3 BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES, ENTRANTS AGREE THAT THE RELEASED PARTIES WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY ENTRANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND TO PERSONS, INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH, OR PROPERTY RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE, OR USE OF THE PRIZE, ENTRY, OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR IN ANY SWEEPSTAKES RELATED ACTIVITY, INCLUDING ACCESS TO AND USE OF ANY INTERNET SITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR ANY CLAIMS BASED ON PUBLICITY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION OR INVASION OF PRIVACY, OR MERCHANDISE DELIVERY. THE RELEASED PARTIES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANY PRIZE CANNOT BE AWARDED DUE TO TRAVEL CANCELLATIONS, DELAYS, OR INTERRUPTIONS DUE TO ACTS OF GOD, ACTS OF WAR, NATURAL DISASTERS, WEATHER, OR TERRORISM. SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY. CHECK LOCAL LAWS FOR ANY RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS REGARDING THESE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS. 6. Violation of Sweepstakes Rules: By entering the Sweepstakes, you agree to comply with and be bound by the Rules. Failure to comply with these Rules may result in your disqualification from the Sweepstakes. You further agree to comply with and be bound by the decisions of Rowan University, CGCE, which are final and binding in all respects. Rowan University, CGCE reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any Entrant it finds to be: (1) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes; (2) violating the Rules; (3) violating the terms of service, conditional of use or general rules or guidelines of any Rowan University, CGCE property or service; (4) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person; or (5) failure to comply with the Rules or Release requirements. 7. Description of the Prizes: One (1) prize will be awarded. The prize consists of one (1) Apple ipad valued at approximately $ (Four hundred ninety-nine US dollars.) Prize Restrictions: Any and all applicable federal, state, and local taxes and all fees, costs and expenses relating to the acceptance and use of the prize not specifically stated herein are the sole responsibility of the individual prize winner. Prize cannot be substituted, assigned, transferred, or redeemed for cash; however, Rowan University, CGCE reserves the right to make equivalent prize substitutions at its sole discretion. Rowan University, CGCE will not replace any lost or stolen prizes after delivered to the winner. Limit: one (1) prize per person, per household. 3

Selection and Notification of Winners: Rowan University, CGCE will select one (1) potential prize winner through a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period on or about November 5, Rowan University, CGCE will notify each potential winner by within two (2) days of being selected. If a potential winner does not respond within two (2) days after the first attempt to contact him/her, or the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, that potential winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize, and Rowan University, CGCE will select an alternate potential winner in his/her place at random from all eligible entries received. Alternate potential winner must satisfy all eligibility requirements. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. At Rowan University, CGCE s discretion, except where prohibited, potential winner will be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (the Affidavit/Release ) within five (5) days of being notified. If the potential winner fails to sign and return the Affidavit/Release within the required time period, or is unavailable to accept the prize within the time period specified by Rowan University, CGCE, that potential winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize, and an alternate potential winner will be selected in his/her place in a random drawing from all eligible entries received. Noncompliance with the foregoing, failure to abide by these Official Rules, or return of the prize notification as non-deliverable may result in disqualification and naming of an alternate potential winner. Up to five (5) alternate winner drawings will be held for the prize, after which any remaining prizes will remain un-awarded. 9. General Conditions: WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW, AND, SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, ROWAN UNIVERSITY, CGCE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Rowan University, CGCE s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Neither Rowan University, CGCE nor anyone acting on its behalf will enter into any communications with any entrant regarding this Sweepstakes, except as expressly set forth in these Official Rules; or to act in unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person. Rowan University, CGCE and its agents are not responsible for (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Sweepstakes; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the 4

5 processing of entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant s participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. If for any reason an entrant s entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, entrant s sole remedy is another entry in the Sweepstakes, provide that if it is not possible to award another entry due to discontinuance of the Sweepstakes, or any part of it, for any reason, Rowan University, CGCE, at its discretion, may elect to hold a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of discontinuance for any or all of the prizes offered herein. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned due to causes beyond he control of Rowan University, CGCE, which corrupt or affect the operation, administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Rowan University, CGCE may, in its sole discretion, void any suspect entries and (a) cancel or terminate the Sweepstakes (or any portion thereof) and awarded the prize(s) at random from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment or (b) modify the Sweepstakes or suspend the Sweepstakes to address the impairment and then resume the Sweepstakes in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules. 10. Publicity: EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, WINNERS GRANT TO ROWAN UNIVERSITY, CGCE (WHICH GRANT WILL BE CONFIRMED IN WRITING ON REQUEST OF ROWAN UNIVERSITY, CGCE), ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION AGENCIES, AND THOSE ACTING PURSUANT TO ITS AUTHORITY, THE RIGHT AND PERMISSION TO PRINT, PUBLISH, BROADCAST, AND USE, WORLDWIDE IN ANY MEDIA NOW KNOWN OR HEREAFTER DEVELOPED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WORLD WIDE WEB, AT ANY TIME OR TIMES, EACH WINNER S NAME FOR ADVERTISING, TRADE AND PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES (INCLUDING THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF HIS OR HER NAME ON TELEVISION OR RADIO BROADCAST) WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION, COMPENSATION, PERMISSION, OR NOTIFICATION. ENTRANTS AGREE THAT ROWAN UNIVERSITY, CGCE SHALL OWN THE ENTRIES, WHICH WILL NOT BE ACKNOWLEDGED OR RETURNED, AND THAT ROWAN UNIVERSITY, CGCE AND ITS DESIGNEES SHALL HAVE THE PERPETUAL, WORLDWIDE RIGHT TO EDIT, PUBLISH, AND USE THE ENTRIES IN ANY WAY AND IN ANY MEDIA FOR TRADE, ADVERTISING, PROMOTIONAL, AND/OR OTHER PURPOSES AS ROWAN UNIVERSITY, CGCE AND/OR ITS DESIGNEES MAY DETERMINE WITHOUT FURTHER CONSIDERATION TO ENTRANTS OR ANY THIRD PARTY. 11. Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and 5

6 exclusively by appropriate federal or state court located in New Jersey; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expense, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Rowan University, CGCE in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New Jersey, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of New Jersey or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of New Jersey. 12. Privacy Notice: All information submitted in connection with this Sweepstakes will only be used to administer the Sweepstakes and for the purposes outlined in the Rules. 13. Severability: If any provision(s) of these Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect. 14. Inquiries or Questions: Any inquiries or questions regarding this Sweepstakes, including any request for the name of the winners, may be sent by to Rowan University, CGCE shall not be liable for technical, pictorial, typographical or editorial errors or omissions contained herein.
