1 Scotiabank Mapping Tomorrow Football Contest (the Contest ) OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS ( Official Rules ) By entering this Contest, entrants agree to abide by these Official Contest Rules and Regulations and the decisions of the sponsor, The Bank of Nova Scotia ( Scotiabank or the Sponsor ), which are final. 1. CONTEST PERIOD The Contest runs from June 1, 2015 at 12:00:00 AM (ET) to September 6, 2015 at 11:59:59 PM (ET) ( Contest Period ). 2. ELIGIBILITY This Contest is open to all legal residents of Canada who are of the age of majority subject to the exclusions set out below. This Contest is not open to employees, immediate family members of employees (defined as parents, siblings, children and spouses, regardless of where they reside), or persons domiciled with employees of Scotiabank, S&E Sponsorship Group, the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club Inc. ( the Saskatchewan Roughriders ) and each of their respective parent, affiliated and related companies, suppliers of the materials and services related to this Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of each potential Prize winner. 3. HOW TO ENTER To enter the Contest, entrants must initiate a new Mapping Tomorrow financial plan with a Scotiabank financial advisor at an eligible/participating Scotiabank branch during the Contest Period. All branches within the Province of Saskatchewan are eligible. To Initiate a new Mapping Tomorrow financial plan means having an initial consultation with a Scotiabank Financial Advisor (at which at least one of the Mapping Tomorrow presentations is commenced) resulting in the creation of a new plan record. Only one (1) Contest Entry per person during the Contest Period is permitted

2 NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter the Contest without completing a qualifying Mapping Tomorrow financial plan, you must be a legal resident of Saskatchewan of age of majority and submit a minimum 200-word original essay on How Saskatchewan Roughriders football has positively impacted my community to: Scotiabank Mapping Tomorrow Football Contest, 1 Eglinton Avenue East, Suite 600, Toronto, Ontario, M4P 3A1, Attention: Contest Administrator, during the Contest Period. Be sure to include your full name, mailing address, address and telephone number with your essay. Entrants will earn one (1) entry for a successfully submitted qualifying essay. Only one (1) No Purchase Necessary Contest Entry per person during the Contest Period is permitted. Entries must be handwritten and only one entry per envelope is permitted. Mail entries must bear sufficient postage and be received during the Contest Period. 4. THE PRIZES There will be eight (8) Prizes (the Prizes ) awarded as described below: The Prize Saskatchewan Roughriders Scotiabank Suite VIP Experience: Two (2) tickets to Saskatchewan Roughriders home game scheduled for Sunday September 27 th, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Mosaic Stadium, Regina, Saskatchewan in a Scotiabank-hosted Suite, including food and beverage Exclusive pre-game experience such as, for example purposes only, field-level access for pre-game warm-ups (type, exact nature and location of the pre-game experience to be determined and confirmed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders) Saskatchewan Roughriders merchandise Prize pack Approximate retail value of each Prize is $ CDN The following Conditions apply to all Prizes: Any difference between approximate retail value and the actual value of the Prize as taken will not be awarded. Sponsor reserves, in Sponsor s sole discretion, the right at any time to substitute a Prize of equal or greater value. Each winner and his/her guest are responsible for all other costs and expenses not specifically listed above, including, without limitation, transportation, any applicable provincial, federal, and local taxes, meals, food, beverages, and all personal expenses and incidentals. The Prize must be accepted as awarded without substitution and is not redeemable for cash or allowed to be sold. Prize is transferrable. In the event that a winner is unable or chooses not to redeem any or all of the Prize components due to reasons beyond the control of the Sponsor, its employees, representatives, agents, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and all other parties associated with this Contest, no compensation or substitute Prize will be provided

3 If any component of a Prize is canceled or postponed for any reason, the awarding of the balance of that Prize will be deemed to be in full satisfaction of the Prize award. 5. CONTEST DRAW Six random draws will be conducted on Tuesday September 8, 2015 at the offices of S&E Sponsorship Group, an independent agency in charge of the administration of the Contest located at 1 Eglinton Avenue East, Suite 600, Toronto, Ontario M4P 3A1 on the Draw Date from all eligible entries received within the Contest Period. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. A representative of the Sponsor will attempt to notify and subsequently qualify the selected entrants by telephone during the hours of 12:00PM and 5:30PM Eastern Time. If a selected entrant cannot be reached by telephone after three (3) attempts the selected entrant will be ineligible to claim the Prize. Another entrant will be selected from the same pool of entrants and the same eligibility rules will apply to that selected entrant. A representative of the Sponsor will continue calling down the list of potential winners until the total number of potential winners are reached. How to Win Each potential winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skilltesting question. When the potential winner is reached by phone by a representative of the Sponsor, they will be asked to answer this question. If the winner has answered the phone but indicates that he/she is not in a position to be given the skill testing question at that time (for example, the winner is driving, handling children, etc.), the agent will offer to call the person back within an agreed upon number of minutes up to one (1) hour from the point of the call (call backs will occur in the same day up until 6:30PM ET from Monday to Friday). If the potential winner provides an incorrect answer to the skill-testing question, that potential winner will be disqualified and the agent will re-visit the list of eligible entries and start the process of calling out to the next potential winner on that list. Potential winners must sign and submit to the Sponsor a declaration of eligibility and release that will include, without limitation, a declaration that the selected entrant is eligible to win the applicable Prize and authorization for the Sponsor and their agents to announce and publish the selected entrant s name, address (city and province only) and/or photograph or image or other likeness, without further compensation, at any time and from time to time, in any future publicity. Persons accompanying each Prize winner (a guest ) must also sign an eligibility and release form. The winner must be the parent or legal guardian of any minor guest and must sign a declaration of eligibility and release on behalf of the minor guest. In such cases, the winner will at all times be responsible for the conduct of the minor guest. 4 6. PRIVACY The Sponsor is committed to respecting your privacy rights. Any personal information gathered will be handled in strict accordance with the Scotiabank Group Privacy Agreement found at and all applicable privacy legislation. The Sponsor will not sell your personal information collected for this Contest to any third parties. Any personal information collected for this Contest shall be used by Sponsor as disclosed herein. Please note that by agreeing to receive a Prize, winners consent to the Sponsor s use of your personal information in order to manage and administer this Contest. 7. GENERAL RULES By entering this Contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and Regulations and the decisions of the Sponsor and the independent agency, which are final, binding and conclusive on all matters relating to this Contest. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned and no correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrant who will be notified by telephone or . The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify all entrants who fail to follow these Official Rules or who make any misrepresentation relating to the Contest, drawing and redemption of any Prize. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation. By agreeing to receive a Prize, winners consent to the use of the winner s name, photograph and/or voice recording for publicity purposes without additional compensation or permission, except where prohibited by law. The Sponsor and the Saskatchewan Roughriders shall not be responsible in any way for the use of, or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to, any Prize awarded in this Contest or the events forming part of this Contest. The Sponsor and the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and each of their officers, directors, affiliates, related entities, partners, partnerships, principals, representatives, agents, licensees, sponsor, successors and assigns (i) make no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind concerning any Prize, (ii) disclaim any implied warranty, and (iii) are not liable for injury, loss, or damage of any kind resulting from the acceptance, use or misuse of any Prize, travel related thereto or otherwise from participation in this Contest. The Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw, terminate or revise this Contest at any time without prior notice. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and is void where prohibited. 8.
