1 Last updated as of 23 November 2015 HONG LEONG BANK BERHAD TOP YIELD ACCOUNT PROMOTION Terms & Conditions ( T&Cs ) PROMOTION PERIOD 1. The Hong Leong Bank Berhad s ( HLB ) Top Yield Account Promotion ( Promotion ) commences on 23 November 2015 and ends on 30 April 2016 both dates inclusive ( Promotion Period ), unless notified otherwise. ELIGIBILITY 2. The Promotion is open to all new and existing individual Priority Banking ( PB ) customers of HLB who are the primary accountholders of the Top Yield Account including New-To-Bank ( NTB ), Existing and Upgrade ( Upgrade ) PB customers ( Accountholders ). 3. For the avoidance of doubt: (i) NTB customers refer to individuals without an existing HLB Account and/or HLB PB Account during the Promotion Period. (ii) Upgrade customers refer to existing non-pb customers who are qualified for PB Membership upon fulfilling the Qualifying Criteria and become a PB customer during Promotion Period. (iii) PB membership refers to a total combined Liquid Assets and/or Investment of Ringgit Malaysia Two Hundred Thousand (RM200,000) or such other amount as may be stipulated by HLB from time to time ( Qualifying Criteria ). (iv) For the purpose herein, the term Liquid Assets shall mean:- (a) (b) all sums standing to the credit in any Fixed Deposit Account ( FD ), Current Account & Savings Account ( CASA ) and/or Foreign Currency Account with HLB; and/or the principal amount of investment in any Unit Trust Funds ( UT ), Floating Rate Negotiable Instrument of Deposit ( FRNID ), Retail Bond, Equity Linked Investment ( ELI ) and/or Dual Currency Investment ( DCI ) with HLB at any one time (collectively the above (a) & (b) be referred to as the Participating Accounts ). For the avoidance of doubt, Mortgage Plus Current Account and Super Easi 123 Flexi Loan are excluded as part of the liquid assets to make up the Qualifying Criteria (v) Where there is more than one (1) person applying for the PB Membership, a joint account must be opened. The joint accountholder whose name appears first in the records of HLB will be the Primary Accountholder and the other joint accountholder will be the Secondary Account Holder. 4. The Promotion is NOT applicable to non-individual customers including sole proprietors, partnership and professional practices. PROMOTION MECHANICS Early Bird Gift ( Gift ) 5. The Accountholders who have complied with the following prescribed Minimum Deposit Amount and/or investment subscription ( Eligible Accountholders ) are entitled for the following Gifts: Terms & conditions Top Yield Account Promotion Page 1 of 7

New Funds are defined as: (a) Cash, interbank GIRO, new funds received via telegraphic transfer from other banks, local cheque or banker s cheque issued by other banks and deposited into the Top Yield Account of the Accountholders; (b) Redeemed equity unit trust funds, bonds and Hong Leong Invest Safe that are re-deposited into any HLB CASA 8. New Funds are NOT: (a) Maturing Fixed Deposit ( FD ), General Investment Account ( GIA ) or Term Deposit-i ( TD-i ) or premature withdrawal of FD, GIA or TD-i; (b) Inter-branch transfer within HLB and Hong Leong Islamic Bank ( HLISB ) including third (3 rd ) party transfer. 9. For the avoidance of doubt: (a) The Eligible Accountholders who make a full deposit placement of the prescribed Minimum Deposit Account into their Top Yield Account under Option 1 shall be entitled for the relevant Gift(s). (b) The Eligible Accountholders who opt for Option 2 are required to make deposit placement into the Top Yield Account and NIA subscription in Selected Investment concurrently during the Promotion Period in order to be entitled for the relevant Gift(s). 10. New Investment Accounts ( NIA ) refer to the Unit Trust Accounts i.e. Equity, Income, Money Market or Bond funds opened with HLB by the primary accountholders during the Promotion Period. For avoidance of doubt, (a) For new joint investment account opened during Promotion Period with existing primary and/or secondary investment accountholder shall not be treated as a New Investment Account. (b) For new individual investment account opened during Promotion Period by existing primary or secondary investment accountholder shall not be treated as New Investment Account. 11. Selected Investment means fund listed as a Participant Fund in Appendix 1 of these Terms and Conditions. 12. HLB reserves the right to amend the Participant Fund listing in Appendix 1 from time to time within the Promotion Period, with prior notice to the Eligible Accountholders by way of posting on the HLB s website at ( HLB s Website ). 13. Investments in the Investment Products using funds withdrawn from the Employees Provident Fund ( EPF ) are not allowed. Terms & conditions Top Yield Account Promotion Page 2 of 7

3 14. Joint investments are treated as belonging to the person whose name appears first in the Selected Investment transaction form ( Investment Primary Accountholder ). Only the Investment Primary Accountholder is eligible for the Gift. 15. The Gifts are valid on a first-come-first-served basis and subject to the stock availability, limited to one (1) Gift per Category for each Eligible Accountholder under this Promotion. Notification will be given in the event the Gift runs out of stock by way of posting on the HLB s Website. 16. The Eligible Accountholders shall be notified by way of short message service ( SMS ), phone call or in any manner deem fit and appropriate by HLB within three (3) months after the conclusion of the Promotion Period on their entitlement for Gift ( Notification Date ). Eligible Accountholders who do not receive any notification shall be deemed not entitled for Gift. 17. The Eligible Accountholders are responsible to collect the Gift from the respective home branches within one (1) month from the Notification Date, failing which, the Gift will be forfeited. 18. The Eligible Accountholder shall be personally liable for all taxes, rates, government fees or any other charges that may be levied against them under the applicable laws, if any, in relation to the Gift. 19. In the event the prescribed Minimum Deposit Amount under Option1 is withdrawn (in part or full) during the Earmark Period for any reason whatsoever, HLB shall deduct the following Penalty Fee from the Top Yield Account on the date of withdrawal by the Eligible Accountholder as payment for the Gift. All the existing terms and conditions, rules and regulations governing the approved UT Fund transactions shall apply. 21. In the event the Eligible Accountholders exercise their UT cooling-off right or the investment in approved UT fund is rejected or cancelled by any parties for whatsoever reason, the investment amount shall NOT be entitled to the Promotion as stipulated in the table above. 22. The terms and conditions governing the transactions in the selected UT Fund are specified in the relevant latest Prospectus(es) and Supplemental Prospectus(es) thereto (if any) that have been duly registered and approved by the Securities Commission Malaysia which shall be governed by and regulated in accordance with the Capital Markets And Services Act 2007 (as amended) and the relevant guidelines and directives issued by the relevant authorities. 23. 4 Insurans Deposit Malaysia ( PIDM ), and any money withdrawn from an insured deposit for the purpose of purchasing any units in a unit trust scheme is not insured by PIDM. 24. These Terms and Conditions are in addition to all other terms and conditions pertaining to the sales, marketing and operating of a unit trust investment account. The specific terms and conditions for the approved UT Fund are set out in the Terms and Conditions for Investment Services. GENERAL 25. HLB gives no representation or warranty with respect to the quality or suitability of Gifts. The Eligible Accountholders shall deal directly with the provider and/or manufacturer for all warranty information in respect of the Gifts without any recourse to HLB. 26. The Gifts featured in all printed materials are for illustration purposes only. Any props, accessories or equipment featured with the Gifts in any pictorial materials are for decorative purposes and shall not form part of the Gifts. 27. HLB shall not be liable in any circumstances for any lost, damaged or stolen Gifts. Any request for replacement of such lost, damaged, or stolen Gifts shall not be entertained by HLB. 28. The Gifts are non-transferable to any third (3rd) party and non-exchangeable for up-front cash, credit, cheque or in kind. 29. By participating in the Promotion, the Accountholders: (a) Agree to be bound by the T&Cs of the Promotion, General Terms & Conditions of Accounts for Deposits, and Terms & Conditions of Top Yield Account ; (b) Agree to access HLB s Website at regular time intervals to view the T&Cs and ensure to be kept up-to-date on any change or variation to the T&Cs; and (c) Agree that HLB s decision on all matters relating to the Promotion and Gifts shall be final, conclusive and binding on all Accountholders - and no further correspondence and/or appeal to dispute HLB s decision shall be entertained. 30. HLB reserves its right to: (a) Add, delete, suspend or vary the T&Cs contained herein, either wholly or in part, with twentyone (21) calendar day s prior notice at the HLB s discretion by way of posting on HLB s Website, or in any manner deemed suitable by the HLB; (b) Substitute the Gifts with other colours and/or products of similar value at any time with prior notice; (c) Disqualify any of the Accountholders for any reason whatsoever as HLB may in its absolute discretion deem fit to participate in the Promotion and/or be entitled to the Gift. 31. The T&Cs herein, General Terms & Conditions of Accounts for Deposits, and Terms & Conditions of Top Yield Account shall be read as an entire agreement and if there is any discrepancy, the specific T&Cs herein shall prevail to the extent of such discrepancy. 32. In the event of any discrepancy between these T&Cs as compared to the advertising, promotional, publicity and other materials relating to or in connection with the Promotion, the final T&Cs on the HLB s Website shall prevail. 33. The Accountholders who have committed or are suspected of committing any fraudulent, unlawful or wrongful acts in relation to any of the facilities granted by HLB or have been declared Bankrupt (pursuant to a petition by either HLB or by any third party) or are subject to any bankruptcy proceedings at any time prior to or during the Promotion Period shall NOT be eligible to participate in the Promotion and/or NOT entitled for the Gift. 34. The T&Cs shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia and Accountholders agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Malaysia.
