2 Welcome to HUU s Student Conference The purpose of HUU s Student Conference is to engage students with the concept of change. This conference will focus on two key objectives: Providing advanced training for Course Representatives as well as other students, particularly in Change Management Allowing students to engage with senior members of staff at the University as well as individuals from National Organisations on the theme of Change With new, exciting and innovative projects taking place across the University and within HUU, this is an opportunity for students to talk directly with those leading these projects. HUU and the University of Hull work in partnership to ensure that student opinions are heard and acted upon, especially within the ever-changing environment of Higher Education. Conference Chair Gareth Ikin This year s conference is chaired by Gareth Ikin. Gareth is in his first term as Vice-President Education for Hull University Union and is a graduate of the University of Hull with a degree in Accounting and Financial Management. Gareth s role as Vice-President Education is to represent the collective voice of students on all issues relating to Learning and Teaching. As a University of Hull student, Gareth was an Academic Council Representative as well as Faculty Co-ordinator for Hull University Business School. A keen hockey player, Gareth also served as Treasure and then went on to become Club President whilst at University.
