2 LA State Fire Marshal H. "Butch" Browning A message from the State Fire Marshal: It is a great pleasure to serve as your State Fire Marshal. I have dedicated my entire career to emergency services. In doing so, I have been blessed to have embraced the values and principals of serving and giving to others. Our State's fire and emergency services provide professional and critical attention to nearly 80% of all the community emergencies. Many lives are saved and property conserved as a direct result of the dedicated men and woman who put their lives on the line in times of danger every day. This Office has evolved to become a central point for the business community to depend on in assuring that building/construction safety is kept at the highest levels. Our dedicated personnel operate in the local communities ensuring that fire and safety codes are met and that fires that are caused by arson or by design are abated. As we move ahead in creating a new and better Louisiana, it must be understood that your State Fire Marshal's Office will be accessible and consistent to each and every person who calls on us for assistance. I have personally witnessed the destructive power of fire and how, in a few seconds, it can injure and take precious life away from us. We have to work harder to ensure that codes and technology are employed in a fair, amicable manner. We operate knowing that our public expects that this office will cooperate with the professional community and local responders to build collaborations and partnerships that will harness a fire safety and prevention team that will be second to none. I passionately share the vision of the Honorable Governor Bobby Jindal and Colonel Mike Edmonson to come together as one and make positive, lasting change not only for our children but the children yet unborn. I commit my best possible leadership in making this State Fire Marshal's Office the best serving one in our Country. Never hesitate to call on me or any of the great members of this Office's team. Yours in Protection, H."Butch"Browning Fire Marshal
