5 The ECS program allows high school juniors and seniors residing in the ACC District service area to take two ACC courses per semester (fall, spring, and summer semesters.) High school students can earn college credit by taking Austin Community College classes at their high schools, any ACC campus, distance learning, or at any other location. In addition to college credit, students may earn credit toward their high school graduation requirements by completing dual credit courses. Eligibility High school students may co-enroll in Austin Community College once they have: Successfully completed their sophomore year in a public school, private school, charter school, or home school. Received permission from their parent/guardian, high school counselor, and Principal. Passed the appropriate sections on the ACC assessment or submitted acceptable exemption scores on the ACT, SAT, TAKS (10th or 11th), PSAT, or PLAN tests. Costs In-district students Austin Community College courses are tuition waived for ECS students who live within the Austin, Leander, Manor, Del Valle, and Round Rock school districts, and those portions of Eanes and Pflugerville independent school districts that pay property taxes to the City of Austin. In-district ECS students do not pay tuition, lab fees, student activity fees, or insurance fees for up to two college credit courses per semester. Tuition is not waived for non-credit, developmental, or audited course. Out-of-district students Students who reside within the ACC service area but outside of ACC s taxing district are assessed a $40 per-course fee for up to two courses per semester, for courses that meet on a high school campus this fee is waived. Students taking a distance learning classes are charged the $40 per-course fee. Out-of-ACC-service-area students Students who reside outside of the ACC service area are assessed full tuition and fees for two courses per semester. Other costs Students are required to pay for required textbooks and supplies. I would like to personally thank all high school counselors and the many high school staff members who spend countless hours assisting students enrolling in ACC s Early College Start program. We appreciate all of your efforts to help your students become ACC students. As a result of your outstanding cooperative efforts, the ECS program grows each semester. Summer 2010 enrollments reached over 4,700 students, a 12.5% increase from summer Summer 2010 represents the highest ECS enrollment to date in one semester and we expect enrollment will continue to rise with your assistance. Early College Start provides an outstanding benefit to your students and their families. Students who can take the maximum number of classes allowed and who begin taking classes the summer following the sophomore year, can earn a year of college credit by the time they graduate from high school. For in-district students, this amounts to about $2,000 in direct savings. Out-of-district students can save $5,000 or more in college tuition costs. We hope you will continue to encourage your students to take classes according to their interests and needs, and that you will consider offering ACC classes on your high school campus or expanding your current course offerings. 10 To be considered a Texas resident, students must reside in Texas at least 12 months before enrollment into ACC and must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or non citizen Texas resident. All ECS students are limited to two ACC courses per semester. ACC recognizes the following classifications when determining tuition rates: In-District: Texas residents are considered in-district if their address on file in Admissions and Records is within ACC s taxing district. ACC s taxing district includes Austin, Del Valle, Leander, Manor, and Round Rock Independent School Districts and properties that pay City of Austin property taxes. Property owners and their dependents living in Texas, outside the ACC tax district, but own property in-district and pay taxes supporting ACC, may be eligible for in-district tuition. A current property tax statement and dependency documents are required for verification each semester of enrollment. Property owners on most temporary visas are not eligible for in-district classification. Out-of-District: Texas residents who reside outside of the ACC tax district but within ACC service area are considered out of district, based on the address submitted on the ACC application. Out-of-ACC-service area: ECS students who reside outside of the ACC service area are not eligible for tuition waivers. Students are charged full tuition and fees. Out-of-State: ECS students are tuition waived if student resides inside the ACC taxing district. Out of state students that reside outside of the ACC taxing district and within the ACC service area will be charged $40 per course unless the class is taken on a high school campus. Non U.S. Citizen or Non Permanent Resident Status: To obtain an alternate ID number, contact the ECS office at (512) Students are responsible for registering under the proper residency classification. Any questions concerning this classification should be clarified with the Admissions and Records Office before enrollment. Rules and regulations for determining residency status are defined under Title 3 of the Texas Education Code. To determine the appropriate residency classification, ACC is required to review enrollment documents for errors, inconsistencies, and misclassifications of residency. The College will take the necessary steps to see that appropriate adjustments are made if a misclassification occurs. Additional documentation of Texas residency may be required if the college determines that the information given on the enrollment documents are not adequate to verify residency.

15 RETURNING STUDENT ENROLLMENT Early College Start (ECS) 1. Meet with high school counselor each semester to obtain ECS form. 2. Complete new ECS form with required signatures. 3. Meet with ACC academic advisor or ECS Specialist. 4. Submit ECS form to any ACC Admissions Office or ECS Specialist. 5. Register for classes by phone or on the web, if using web must have ACCeID. 6. Pay tuition and fees by published deadline, see for deadlines. IMPORTANT INFORMATION for all Early College Start students to ACC: ECS students are limited to two courses per semester. Textbooks are not included in tuition and fees. Textbooks can be obtained at an ACC Bookstore, if in Austin. See high school counselor for additional locations to purchase ACC textbooks. To request an official ACC transcript, visit or call any ACC Admissions and Records Office. Box 15306, Austin, TX Grades are available approximately one week after the last official day of each fall, spring, and summer semester. Grades are available online using ACC Online Services. 1 Non-U.S. Citizens without a SSN must complete the ECS Student Data Form for Non-Citizen Texas Residents to obtain an alternate number to be used on the ACC admissions application. 16 IMPORTANT: All new students must first complete an application for admission to ACC. ECS students MUST submit an online application prior to ASSET or COMPASS testing. Scroll to the bottom and click BEGIN. Bacterial Meningitis Notice before applying. ACC is an open-door institution. All eligible students are accepted. The application establishes a computer record, which is activated for registration when you meet with an ACC advisor. Follow these steps: 1. Complete the online application, which will be entered into ACC s computer system within 24 hours of submission. After you have completed the application, you will be directed to the link for the Residency Information Form. Download the form, complete it, and deliver it in person to a campus Admissions Office. Specific instructions are printed at the bottom of the form. 2. Submit, to an ACC Admissions office, an official high school transcript or a copy of your GED certificate if you have never attended college, or official transcripts from all colleges previously attended. Documents submitted to ACC as a part of the admissions requirements become the property of the college. 3. The THEA or an approved alternative test is required unless you are exempt. Verify your status with a counselor. 4. ACC requires new degree- or certificate-seeking students who have not completed twelve or more hours at another college to complete a new student orientation. 5. Meet with an advisor or counselor at an ACC campus. The advisor or counselor will activate your application, allowing you to register. 6. International students must contact the ACC International Student Office in order to complete the registration process. 7. Register using the ACC Online web registration system or by using the Telephone Registration system. Your registration is not complete until you have paid your tuition and fees. Information about Texas residency: (This section must be completed) You must establish residency in accordance with the Texas Education Code. All ACC students must, by Texas law, complete and sign the Residency Information form. You must go to an ACC campus Admissions office to complete the residency form, or you may print it: Residency Form. Texas residents are designated as in-district or out-of-district for tuition based on the address filed with Admissions when they register. Texas residents will be classified in-district if they live within the ACC taxing district, which includes Austin, Del Valle, Leander, Manor, and Round Rock Independent School Districts, or pay City of Austin Taxes. Texas law requires residency information to be audited by Admissions. Additional documentation to establish residency may be required by that office.

17 Completing the ACC Online Admission Application ALL questions must be answered. Use correct social security number or alternate ACC ID number. (Ensure the SSN or ACC alternate number is correct do not guess or use other numbers.) Use full legal name. No nicknames or a shortened name, as an application creates an official ACC record. Use correct contact information: address and phone number. Last High School Attended is Current High School (see below.) Basis of Admission is Early College Start. Type and Major if undecided about major, use Associate of Arts/General Studies in Arts Attachment H

18 ACC 101 is a mandatory pre-advising online session which guides students through the Austin Community College admission and registration process so that students are prepared to have a successful advising session and can register for courses using the automated phone or online systems. Students should not use the Text version. Please advise students to read through the tutorial and not just scroll through it. Once a student has completed this tutorial, they will be able to: 1. List the requirements for being admitted to ACC. 2. Submit all necessary documents for admission. 3. Read the Course Schedule to find appropriate courses. 4. Use the telephone or online registration systems to register for classes. Upon completion of ACC 101, students will print the ACC 101 Advising Checklist. This checklist must be presented to the ACC advisor or ECS specialist at the time of academic advising.

20 New ECS Students: IMPORTANT: All first-time ECS students must provide the ACC academic advisor or ECS specialist an (official/unofficial) high school transcript, see below. Official high school transcript required: Student is TSI exempt using 11 th TAKS, ACT, SAT Unofficial high school transcript acceptable: Student is TSI exempt using 10 th TAKS, PSAT, or PLAN test scores Student is using ASSET or COMPASS results for advising Returning ECS Students: Official High School Transcript required: Student has updated TSI exemption using 11 th TAKS, ACT, or SAT All other returning students will not need to present a transcript ACC considers a high school transcript to be official when it bears the high school seal and the registrar s signature. Official transcripts do not need to be delivered in a sealed envelope. Upon high school graduation, a final official high school transcript with posted graduation date must be submitted to an ACC Admissions and Records office or mailed to: Austin Community College Admissions and Records P.O. 21 TSI refers to the Texas law (Texas Success Initiative) that requires all students attending a Texas public college or university to be assessed in reading, writing, and math prior to enrollment into college credit classes, unless a student demonstrates an assessment-exempt or assessment-waived status. ACC offers ASSET or COMPASS testing to all ECS students free of charge, for the initial testing. All subsequent testing is subject to a retest policy and fee. Students are advised each semester on the basis of assessment scores on record. A student can be TSI exempt if they have qualifying scores on ACT, SAT, or 11 th grade TAKS. Early College Start students can temporarily use 10 th grade TAKS, PSAT, or PLAN scores while enrolled in high school. After high school graduation, a student using 10 th grade TAKS, PSAT, or PLAN scores must submit exemption 11 th grade TAKS, SAT, or ACT scores to establish permanent TSI status, otherwise, must test in THEA, ASSET, or COMPASS prior to registration as a traditional college student. Temporary vs. Permanent TSI exemption Exemptions using 10 th grade TAKS, PSAT, or PLAN test scores are temporary and only valid while concurrently enrolled in high school. Upon high school graduation, a student must provide permanent TSI exemption through ACT, SAT, or 11 th grade TAKS. ACT and SAT results are valid for TSI exemption for five years from the time of test and TAKS results are valid for TSI exemption for three years from the time of test. If a student cannot provide exemption using permanent exemption criteria, the student will be required to take the COMPASS, ASSET, or THEA prior to enrollment at Austin Community College as a traditional college student. College credit certificates of 42 credit hours or less are TSI-waived. Students pursuing a TSI waived certificate program are not required to satisfy TSI requirements; however, many certificate programs require minimal passing scores on placement tests prior to enrollment. 27 Step 1: Identify the need for testing at your high school, minimum of 10 students per test date and maximum of 100 students per test location. Step 2: Discuss testing need, including intermediate algebra, as well as dates, and times with your ECS specialist. The ASSET test requires a five hour reservation, usually 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. but can be at other times. Step 3: The ECS specialist will verify and confirm test date availability with the ECS ASSET Coordinator. Step 4: THREE weeks prior to your scheduled test, the ECS ASSET Coordinator will provide the contact counselor with an ASSET Testing Packet by . Packet includes important test review information for students and the ACC ASSET test roster. Step 5: All students MUST complete the ACC admission application prior to the test date. Non-citizen students must have obtained an alternate number from the ECS Office to be used for the application and testing. Students who do not complete the ACC application will not receive test results. Step 6: TWO weeks prior to your testing date, completed ACC ASSET roster with student name and social security number of each student testing. Test rosters must be submitted on the ACC ASSET roster in your ASSET Testing Packet. The ACC ASSET roster serves as the scoring template and contains required formulas that determine pass/fail. Rosters not submitted on the required ACC ASSET roster will be returned and test date rescheduled, if needed. Failure to provide completed ASSET roster two weeks prior to test date will result in the test cancellation. Step 7: TEST DAY Test administrator and/or proctors will arrive at the high school 45 minutes prior to the scheduled testing time to set up. Please make arrangements for the testing staff to have access to the building and the reserved testing location. Students should arrive 15 minutes before scheduled start time with a photo ID and social security number or ACC assigned alternate number. The ASSET test comprises of four 25 minute objective tests: reading skills, writing skills, numerical skills, elementary algebra, and a 75 minute written essay. Students will get one 10 minute break and one 20 minute lunch break. If optional Intermediate Algebra testing requested, additional 25 minute timed test.

28 1. Assessment Booster High schools may request a review booster session to speak to students about ASSET and distribute study guide packets with sample questions. Distribute an Assessment Booster to each student scheduled to test. The Assessment Booster is also available as a PDF file in the ASSET Testing Packet. 2. Continuing Education course through ACC BSKL 9002 COMPASS Review ($70.00) Reading, Writing, and Math. This self paced review covers all three sections of the COMPASS exam into one online course. A student can enroll at any time as long as the course is completed within 4 weeks and all assignments are submitted before the last day of the semester. 29 Students who have taken the ASSET or COMPASS test at Austin Community College but did not enroll in ACC classes can request an official score report by completing the ACC Official Score Report Request and Release, the fee is $5.00. The ACC Official Score Report Request and Release form is available online at or hardcopy located in Forms section. Students who have taken an ACC course should request an official ACC transcript which includes any official TSI testing results. The fee is $5.00 in person or by mail and $10 by phone or fax. Students can complete the Official Score Report Request and Release and mail to the address on the form along with the $5.00 payment. 30 All (new and returning) ECS students must be advised each semester before enrolling at Austin Community College. ECS students are advised by the high school counselor and advised by an ACC advisor or ECS specialist. Paperwork submitted without the required advisor or ECS specialist signature will NOT be accepted. With high school counselor: Determines student enrollment eligibility. Reviews TSI exemption and/or ASSET or COMPASS scores. Completes the High School Counselor Section of ECS form for eligible students. Records student TSI status or exemption on ECS form. List ACC course information when credit will be used for high school graduation (ex: HIST 1301). If ACC course will not be used for high school graduation, counselor signs Student and High School Counselor section of ECS form, authorizing an ACC advisor or ECS specialist to advise student on college-credit-only classes. 37 When a high school or underage student enrolls in a post secondary institution, all student records are protected according to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act 1 (FERPA). This means that parents are not given access to their student s records without the authorization of the student. A parent wishing to complete a transaction for his or her child must have a proxy authorization. A student proxy authorization authorizes a person listed on the completed form to serve as a proxy for ACC transactions initialed on the form at Austin Community College. Form located in the Forms section. A student proxy authorization can be used only once. A new, completed, signed and dated proxy is required each time this or any other person acts as a proxy. The student (not proxy) has ultimate responsibility for complying with applicable requirements, policies, payments, and deadlines. This form must have an original student signature along with a copy of the student s photo ID to be valid. Photocopies or faxed copies will not be valid. Completed forms are collected at the time of transaction. Each transaction will require a new completed form. 1 FERPA is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. These rights transfer to the student when he or she attends a school beyond the high school level.

38 Things you can do to HELP students with registration: Verify the registration access periods for the correct time and date to register. Detailed registration times are listed on the printed and online course schedule. Distribute the Registration Worksheet, which includes detailed registration instructions for both phone and online registration. Refer students to the course schedule and ACC Registration Helpline (512) Provide a touch tone telephone or internet accessible computers to allow registration at high school campus without registering for them. REQUIRE students to verify their registration by printing out a student schedule from their ACC online account or by visiting a campus Admissions Office with a photo ID. Encourage all students to contact their ECS specialist or visit a campus Admissions Office if they are given a tuition balance they believe is not correct. TOP 5 Reasons NOT to register students yourselves (includes parents): Registration is a student-driven process, and a necessary skill to have in college. Students will blame you if they are not in the correct class and/or time. Students will blame you if they do or don t have a parking permit. Students will blame you if they get dropped from their class for any reason. If you register for them, they will expect it each semester. Student will also likely come to you each time they need to make adjustments which, will involve many hours of registration assistance. NEGATIVE impact of registering students: Students can be enrolled in a class they are unaware of, not attending, and receive a failing grade, which will affect their permanent college record. Students, and especially parents, will hold you responsible. Students will not be prepared to use the system to make changes to their schedule during add/drops period, also a student-driven process.

40 Course prerequisites Codes to the left of the course synonym (see above illustration) indicate whether the course has prerequisites. Prerequisites are required skills or courses that must be fulfilled before you can register for the indicated course. Most college credit courses have a reading, writing, or math skills prerequisite; some courses have more than one. You must prove proficiency in the required skills by fulfilling state-mandated assessment requirements at the time of admission to ACC. Courses with course prerequisites have a plus (+) before the synonym. You must provide proof of this prerequisite (grade slip, transcript, etc.) at the first class meeting. Prerequisites are listed in the ACC Catalog. Without proof you will be dropped from class. Students should NOT register for courses for which they do not meet the required skills or course prerequisites. Students attending course(s) for which they are not eligible should withdraw immediately. Students should NOT register for a class that they cannot attend because of a time conflict.

41 ACC Online Services provides a web-based interface to student information contained in ACC s student database. ACC students can use online services to register and pay for classes, add and drop, print their schedules, view unofficial grades by semester, and obtain unofficial transcripts. Go to the ACC main page In the middle right of the page, under eservices, select Online Services. Click Log IN to begin. If you have not logged in before using your ACCeID you may want to Click for ACCeID activation or password change, which is located in the lower righthand corner of the screen. ACCeID You must know your ACCeID and password to access online services: 1. Begin the ACCeID process here: 2. To claim your ACCeID: click on What s my ACCeID? Your ACCeID is the first letter (lower case) of your official first name and your 7-digit ACC student ID number. 44 Students who are unable to complete a course, for whatever reason, must complete and submit a withdrawal form to a campus Admissions and Records before the withdrawal deadline published in both the academic calendar and semester course schedule. When a student withdraws before the 12 th official class day for a 16-week session, the course is not recorded on a student s ACC transcript; all withdrawals after the official class day date will record as a W on the ACC transcript. Discontinuing attendance or notifying the instructor does not constitute official withdrawal. A change to a high school student s schedule does NOT constitute official withdrawal. Students who fail to officially withdraw from a course will receive a grade of F for the course, and this will become a permanent part of the student s college record which may or may not affect the ability to transfer or be admitted to other colleges or universities upon high school graduation. Official withdrawal after the official state reporting date for each semester will report as a W on official college records. W s do not calculate into a student s GPA. W s received while enrolled as an ECS student at Austin Community College will not count towards the 6 course withdrawal limit; however, once a student completes six credit hours or two semesters at ACC they must maintain at least a 50% course completion ratio. Students who fall below will be required to meet with an ACC counselor prior to future enrollment at ACC. Withdrawals may also be counted in financial aid eligibility upon high school graduation. Instructor-Initiated Withdrawals A student who is not in compliance with course policies or meeting course objectives in the syllabus may be withdrawn from the course at the discretion of the instructor. When the instructor withdraws a student, written notice will be sent by the College to the student at the address recorded in the student s permanent file. Appealing an Instructor Initiated-Withdrawal A student may appeal a course withdrawal in writing immediately upon notification by the instructor or within five business days after postmark of the College notice of withdrawal. The written appeal shall be made initially to the course instructor, who will respond in writing within five business days. The student may appeal the instructor s decision within five business days to the appropriate Department Chair, then Academic Dean, whose decision will be final. The student may attend class, submit assignments, and take tests for grading through the final disposition of the appeal unless there are established course or program guidelines that would prohibit the student from returning to class.

45 Tuition and fees are due following registration, according to the tuition deadlines published in the course schedule. Failure to pay tuition and fees by the payment deadline will result in a student being dropped from classes. IMPORTANT: Students do not receive tuition bills by mail; it is the student s responsibility to ensure payment is made by the deadline. For questions regarding the tuition due, contact an ACC Cashier s Office at (512) 223-CASH (2214). Methods of payment Online: Must be paid by credit card only using ACCeID. The full amount of tuition and fees will be charged to the credit card and will be subject to State and ACC refund policies. Be sure to print or record the confirmation of payment. Telephone: For credit card payment, call (512) and follow the instructions on the registration worksheet (page 7 of printed course schedule.) Walk-in: Pay in person at any campus Cashier's Office, may use cash, check, money order, or credit card. All other ECS students are charged full tuition and fees based on their residency status as determined by Admissions and Records. In-District: Tuition is waived for up to two courses per semester. Out-of-District: Charged $40 per course for up to two courses per semester. $40 per-course fee waived when course is taken at a high school campus $40 per-course fee waived if student provides verification of financial need. For example: Official letter from high school verifying eligibility for reduced or free lunches or copy of letter stating student and/or family is eligible for state or federal assistance. Letters must be submitted with ECS form and are valid for the academic school year. Out-of-State: Eligible for tuition waiver if student resides within the ACC service area. Tuition is based on whether a student resides in or out of ACC s taxing district. Non-Citizen: Eligible for tuition waiver if student resides within the ACC service area. Tuition is based on whether a student resides in or out of ACC s taxing district.

46 ECS students are limited to two ACC courses per semester (spring, fall, and summer.) All ACC courses count towards this two course limit (i.e. developmental courses, concurrent enrollment, and courses for which a W is received.) When a student registers using the telephone or online systems, the system does not have the ability to stop a student from adding a third course; however, ACC s business office runs a daily report of registration activity which identifies ECS students who register for more than two classes. When a student registers for more than two courses, the system charges full tuition and fees for ALL three classes. This is usually the trigger for the student to contact ACC; however, some students do not contact ACC. If the balance due is not paid by the payment deadline, students will be dropped from the last course added. Payment of entire balance does not constitute approval of a third ACC course. In extenuating circumstances, an ECS student may request to exceed the maximum course load. Approval must be obtained by the Dean of Student Services at an ACC campus PRIOR to enrollment in a third course. Procedures to request a third course for ECS: 1. Obtain and complete the Request to Exceed Maximum Course Load for Early College Start. See Forms section. 2. Obtain parent and high school principal signature. 3. Obtain an unofficial copy of your high school transcript showing cumulative high GPA of 95 on a 100 point scale or 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. 4. Visit a campus Dean of Student Services office. 5. If approved, a student MUST pay full tuition and fees for any course(s) above the two course limit. 6. A new request must be submitted and approved each semester. The students are in a comfortable environment and much more likely to sign up for the course. 3. On-site ACC classes eliminate most transportation problems. 4. You determine the course(s) to offer, applicable to your school and students needs. 5. Classes are FREE for your students all classes taken on a high school campus are tuition waived for students who reside in the ACC service area. How to schedule an ACC Class on your High School Campus 1. Talk to your ESC Specialist by the published deadlines and supply them with the information below. THE SOONER THE BETTER! Course requests must be submitted prior to the deadline for each semester. Spring 2011 August 6, 2010, Summer 2011 December 3, 2010, Fall 2011 March 4, 2011, Spring 2012 August 5, Determine the ACC course(s) you would like to have on campus. Example: HIST 1302 U.S. History II and ENGL 1301 English Composition I 3. Determine days of the week you would like to schedule the class. Example: MW or TTh, or MWF (One, two, or three day a week classes available) 4. In order to hold an ACC classes on your high school campus, you must anticipate enrollment of 14 or more students. Classes that enroll fewer than 14 students are subject to cancellation for insufficient enrollment. 5. Determine class meeting times. Required instructional times vary based on number of lecture and/or lab credits required for ACC course. Contact your ECS specialist for minimum instructional times. 6. Room number and room capacity Example: Room 23H, capacity 32 Having a course on your campus is dependent on approval from the ACC department chair, number of students enrolled, and availability of ACC faculty.

48 A transcript lists all courses taken and grades earned for all classes taken. Official transcripts with final grades are available seven business days after the semester ends. You may request a transcript in advance of the end of a particular term and request to have the transcript sent after grades are posted. In Person Go to any campus Admissions Office and complete a Transcript Release form. Bring a photo ID; and pay the $5.00 transcript fee at the time of your request. Official transcripts will be processed while you wait. Official transcript will be processed and mailed within two business days. By fax (credit card only) Fax the following to : A completed and signed ACC Transcript Request form, in Forms section American Express, VISA, MasterCard, or Discover credit card information (type of card, card number, and expiration date) Official transcript will be processed and mailed within two business days to the address on the form By mail Send a completed and signed Transcript Request form, in Forms section, along with a check or money order for the transcript fee and mail to the address on form. Official transcript will be processed and mailed within two to four business days from the day of receipt for request. Viewing an unofficial transcript To view and print your unofficial transcript please log on to your ACC Online Services account using your ACCeID, Unofficial grade reports are mailed to all public high schools for students who have consented to have ACC academic records released, approximately one week after the last official class day each semester.

49 High school counselors and/or Registrar will receive unofficial grades for ECS students who have consented to the release of ACC records to high school representatives. Students must choose to consent or not consent each semester on the ECS Co-enrollment Approval and Tuition Voucher form, see below. Students who do not check DO consent will not have records released. Grades are posted to student records approximately seven working days after the last official day for that session. Students receive grade reports approximately seven working days after the last official day for that semester in the mail to the address on file with admissions and records. Unofficial grade reports are mailed seven working days after a semester has ended. The ECS office will send the to primary ECS high school counselor contact unless otherwise requested, unofficial grades for each student enrolled at the high school who has consented to the release of ACC records. Students can obtain unofficial grades at anytime after grades are posted using their ACCeID and online services or they can visit a campus Admissions office with a photo ID for an unofficial printout.

50 ECS students, who will graduate from high school but intend to enroll at ACC immediately after graduation, must visit an ACC campus Admissions Office prior to registration (usually in March and April.) Students will need to complete a Notice of Missing Credentials form. This form is a promissory note for the final high school transcript with graduation date. Upon completion of the missing credentials form, a student s record will be converted to a traditional student status and extended time will be permitted for the final high school transcript. Meanwhile, the student will be permitted to register as a traditional student for the upcoming summer semester. For example: A high school senior is enrolled at ACC during the spring semester, will graduate from high school, and plans to continue at ACC the summer immediately following graduation. Student must visit an ACC campus Admissions Office and complete a Notice of Missing Credentials form. Upon completion, admissions staff will remove AR7 hold and convert the record from dual to traditional status. Once complete, the student will be eligible to register for upcoming semester as college student. For further questions regarding graduating seniors, please contact your ECS specialist. TSI Status Once an ECS student graduates from high school, (s)he will be required to provide permanent TSI exemption or be in compliance with TSI rules and regulations. Please visit a campus advisor in order to fully understand how TSI applies to traditional college students. Remember 10 th TAKS, PSAT, and PLAN results are not permanent; therefore, upon high school graduation, students must provide permanent 11th TAKS, ACT, or SAT exemption scores or take ASSET, COMPASS, or THEA. For example: An ECS student who does not pass the math part of ASSET/COMPASS, is not required to participate in mandatory developmental math each semester while in high school. Upon graduation, unless a student retests and passes all sections, the student must enroll concurrently in the required math development course until the test is retaken and passed.
