Priming the Green Workforce with Sustainable Energy Education Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers (STEM Based)

Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers SEWFSTTis a three day STEM based sustainable energy workshop that introduces teachers to the basic concepts of sustainable energy that is informative, hands-on and attracts a diverse participant population.

Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers The workshop exposes participants to the state of the art sustainable energy facilities and equipment used in sustainable energy.

Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers The participants interface with sustainable energy professionals to explore future careers in sustainable energy by participating in Sustainable Energy Field trips.

Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers Workshop Goals To provide sustainable energy content information and activities for instruction To integrate sustainable energy concepts into Michigan Science curriculum expectations To identify and provide sustainable energy instructional resources

Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers Introduction to Energy Fuel Cells Wind Solar Bio-fuels

Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Production

Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers Wind

Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers Solar

Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers Macomb Community College Enrolled Students

Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers Macomb Community College Lisa Richter-As a result of attending SEWFSTT the workshop provided the means and basic outline for the creation of our Renewable Energy certificate program. Macomb has since received a Department of Education grant to expand the program and integrate sustainable practices into a number of other program areas such as building and construction trades, automotive technology, mechatronics, electrical maintenance technology and business. The future development and expansion of the program benefits students by preparing them for a career in the renewable and sustainable energy industry.

Impact of Sustainable Energy Workshop for Science and Technology Teachers Macomb Community College Lisa Richter-commenting on SEWFSTT I would most certainly recommend this workshop to other instructors...in fact, I already have! The Renewable Energy Technology Certificate (see attached) is a direct result of the workshop. The workshop helped identify key areas for program development.
