LETRAS E NÚMEROS: Language Program of Letters and Numbers: - Project José Aparecido de Oliveira Portuguese; - Project Amílcar Cabral Mathematics.
18 Training Program for Teachers in Teaching Portuguese in East Timor Objective: Training of East Timor teachers in Portuguese; Begin in 2004; Multiple actions taken: training teachers for basic education classes, training in government agencies; Maximum of 50 teachers to Brazilian/per year who have benefited more than 2,000 people in East Timor; Partnership with UFSC Academic Coordenation of the Program.
19 UAB Mozambique Objetivo: Form up to 5,500 teachers in basic education and 1,500 public servants by 2019; Distance Education Courses; Support of classroom units in Maputo, Beira and Lichinga; Brazilian Universities (UFG, UFF, and UniRio UFJF) provide educational and academic support; CAPES funds scholarships of Mozambicans coordinators, teachers and tutors.

In 2013, 60 teachers of Cabo Verde (basic education/ Portuguese and Mathematic) and 50 teacher of Angola (Ensino Secundário/ Matemática) were trained in Brazil.

32 New Initiatives CAPES-Gulbenkian Institute of Science Program (IGC) for the a dual degree PHD in Cape Verde and Brazil to students from CPLP; Partnership with the African Union to support the Pan-African University; Trading trilateral cooperation with the World Bank to support scientific and educational development ofafrican countries; Expansion of UAB to Cape Verde and Angola; Support CAPES / UFMG for structuring the University of Sao Tome and Principe. Routes identified: Basic Education; Health with a focus on nursing and midwifery; Agriculture.
33 CAPES-Gulbenkian Institute of Science Program (IGC/Portugal) for the CPLP The Graduate Program of Science for Development (PGCD) provides funding for PhD in double degree in Cape Verde and Brazil/Portugal for students from the CPLP in the areas of life sciences. Objectives of the Program: To promote cultural and scientific cooperation with Portugal and the Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa and Asia, strengthening the traditional partnership and developing a trilateral cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries in development; Train scientists at centers of excellence in Brazil or Portugal; Improve the quality of scientific research and teaching in African Portuguese-speaking countries and Timor-Leste in the areas of life sciences.
34 CAPES-Gulbenkian Institute of Science Program (PMI) for the CPLP; 4 year program: 1 st year in Cape Verde 2 nd 4 th Year in Brazil or Portugal Degree in Brazil and Cape Verde. 1 st call was launched in 2013: 18 students were selected; They had the first year of the PhD in Cape Verde in 2014; Up to 8 will continue the studies in Brazil; Up to 10 will continue the studies in Portugal. 2nd call was launched in July of 2014 and the application are under analysis. Up to 16 students will be selected.

Objective: To provide scholarships for master's and doctoral degrees in the country, aiming to improve the qualifications of teachers, researchers, professionals with higher level of development in partner countries of Brazil. Scholarships are awarded to all areas of knowledge.
