The interaction between graduate students at various levels, together with masters students, teachers and professionals working in care results in an exchange of experiences that will assist in the improvement of teaching and care provided to the population. This practice developed in teaching allows participants to some changes in the field of assistance can have a positive impact on the recognition of the profession. Thus, this experience report is a result of participation in a research group at the Federal University of Santa Maria-UFSM and aims at reporting the experience of research groups as a promoter recognition and visibility of nursing. We understand that participation in a research group is an important tool for the preparation and growth of the profession, because it possible for the development of production of knowledge through scientific methods, contributing to the strengthening of nursing as a science. It was concluded that the inclusion in the survey starts from the participation in research groups, allowing not only to undergraduate students, but also to nurses, allowing the experience in post graduate studies through the inclusion in the scientific universe and thus assist in the challenge of the rise of professional recognition through research that envisage the qualifications of nursing care. 1 Experience Report. INTRODUCTION In Brazil, the activities of groups of knowledge production in research has been developed by teams of researchers or graduates in training, organized under the name pesquisa1 groups. The research groups have emerged in Brazilian nursing in the 1970s, and its growth and organization are expanding so significativo. 1 Currently the number of research groups in Brazil reached an approximate total of 323 groups registered in the Directory of Research of the National Council for Scientific and Technological CNPq. 2 It is understood that the development of the research is an important strategy for strengthening of nursing as a science and profession, it is important and necessary to carry out a practice supported by a continuous search for conhecimentos.¹ Consistent with the above the Masters Degree Program in Nursing-PPGEnf Federal University of Santa Maria- UFSM has four research groups registered in the Directory of CNPq research groups, as follows: group studies and research in nursing and health-gepes; care, health and nursing, work, health and nursing education, health care of individuals, families and society PEFAScore and interdisciplinary studies health. 3 The group's activities are in line with the policy of extension of UFSM, exerting significant role democratic and public, as it takes a critical view of social issues and public policy. The group coordinates the production of knowledge in partnership with other research groups in the country, and the polls have an intersectorial, multicenter, enabling the convergence of different perspectives, interdisciplinary discussion and the approach of professionals and students, as well as education and assistance. 3 In this context, the course of Nursing UFSM oportunizado is the inclusion of their academics and nurses from various institutions in several projects developed by research groups, since the investigative process aids in the recognition of the profession. It is understood that the development of the research is an important strategy for strengthening of nursing as a science and profession, it is important and necessary to carry out a practice supported by a continuous search for new conhecimentos. 1 Thus, this paper aims at reporting the experience of research groups as a promoter recognition and visibility of nursing. 2

3 2. METHODOLOGY This is an experience report about the experience as members of the research group, aiming opportunity for inclusion in the mature academic masters. The Master course of PPGENF-UFSM, RS. was created in 2007, with its first class ticket in Aims at training qualified nurses to carry out teaching, research and the production of scientific and technological knowledge. The area of concentration of the Program is care, education and work in nursing and health care with two lines of research which are: care and nursing education and health and labor and management in nursing and health. 3. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION 3.1 Critical thinking face the relevance of research The previous participation in research groups in the pre-enrollment in master's favors for professionals and students to think about relevant studies and gaps in knowledge, on which he acts with the purpose of discovering new and better ways to assist, manage, teach and research in nursing. The results of this process is new knowledge that can be used to understand and modify the work of nursing professionals, and also the construction of new proposals, which keep growing the research process in nursing. Critical thinking in research groups is pointed to discussions about the purposes and results of ongoing projects and assess the real importance of new projects. Encouraging students to professionals and the analysis of complex scientific knowledge. 3.2 The importance of scientific work for growth and professional recognition in nursing The organization of professional groups favors the empowerment of individuals and larger infrastructure for research, and provide incentives for the pursuit of knowledge, triggering the motivation to "want to research." The purpose of nursing research is to generate and validate knowledge necessary for professional practice. You need a body to know that support has not only theoretical but also the guarantee and warranty validation pratice. 4 3

4 Thus, the research group encourages students and nurses to describe the situations experienced in their routine work, seeking theoretical explanations of phenomena that may assist in the planning of health care of patients under the aegis of their care, thereby qualifying the interventions of nurses in the multidisciplinary team, favoring contributions of nursing care to others. 3.3 Ripening about meeting the masters The research group allows the student nurse and the knowledge of the proposed academic master on the preparation for the importance of teaching and research in nursing. For the preliminary selection of the Master is extremely important affinities with the recognition of research and teaching, where professionals and students wishing to enter this stage of academic life are aware of their commitment after admission to the university and studies qualified for the different social demands. In this sense, there is no reason for health research if it does not result in actions to keep it and how to contribute in the construction of means of empowering people to make their own choices about prevention, rehabilitation and maintenance of health, personal parameters aceitáveis and collectively 5. In this context, the research group elucidates important discussions about the ways that research intervene positively to the users health. 4 CONCLUSION The visibility and recognition of the nurse is a constant search in the profession. In this sense that the production of the knowledge in groups of inquiry is basic. The necessity of insertion in the master's degree must perpetuate in the academic environment like way of producing scientific knowledge and of contributing to the challenge of ascent of the professional recognition through inquiries that glimpse the qualification of the care to a patient and I do not eat mere titulação. The objectives of the master's degree must be clear to the candidates who intend to join the same thing, for this motive it is obvious what the prior participation in the groups of inquiry helps in the form enriquecedora in the maturing of the candidate on the real promises with the program of post-graduate, institution and with studies qualified before the social demands. 4
