2 Framework Medigraf IT platform is a solution totally developed by PT to suppress an identified need of health care professionals; Populations living in isolated or disadvantaged areas in terms of medical equipments, had to travel to distant towns or countries in order to access medical exams or monitoring; These difficulties made medical monitoring more expensive and required people to travel, sometimes long distances. How does it work? Goals Medigraf IT platform is a remote medicine service. Video telephony and clinical information share in real time conjugate to allow cooperation between health care professionals despite the distance and the faster achievement of the clinical diagnosis; Medigraf utilizes the new ICTs with a specific software and internet access which requires a reduced broadband (only 1MB). Enable the access to medical care to isolated or disadvantage populations; Use of technology in favour of population s needs. 2

4 How does it work? Remote appointments via internet Medigraf remote appointments solution operates through the installation of two terminals, equipped with a specific software. The medical doctor or health care professional is in one of the terminals and the patient or professional in training is on the other. This solution provides one computer, camera, microphone, headset and speakers. More than tele-appointments Medigraf allows real time visualization of exams being held in remote areas in order to professionals achieve a faster and more accurate diagnosis. It can also offers: Distant training; Updating expertise and skills; Clinical presentations; Medical board debates on particular cases; Support in surgical interventions; 4
