6 DEVELOPMENT PHILOSOPHY DEVELOPMENT PHILOSOPHY Most of Kepware s Development and QA teams follow Agile, a philosophy focused on determining better ways to develop software. Agile values face-to-face conversations, working software, customer collaboration, and responding to change. Kepware s teams implement Agile through Scrum, a framework that encourages making work visible, adapting complex systems, delivering working software in increments, and continuous improvement. Together, Agile and Scrum empower Kepware teams by providing: A clear understanding of the deliverable needed through direct interactions with customers Valuable feedback and ensured alignment with business objectives through regular and open reviews with stakeholders The flexibility to adapt to change through an iterative development process Team-driven development and accountability for determining how much they can do and how they will do it The ability to coordinate efforts, contribute knowledge, and improve planning through visibility into what other team members are doing A chance to apply process experiments that iterate on the team itself for continuous optimization A buy-in driven culture, wherein teams define their own rules and work to improve their processes This process enables teams to build software that meets customers needs faster and encourage collaboration, improve communication, and adapt methods in the process. Good Scrum requires commitment to the framework from the top down of an organization. Kepware places a lot of trust in its Engineering teams, and they consistently prove that they deserve it. 7 SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM The Summer Internship Program offers students exposure to professional Software Engineering, including research, specification, design, implementation, quality assurance, documentation, and sales. Students will work on projects that solve real-world problems and are designed to be completed within the summer timeframe. Students will collaborate both with other interns and with members of our professional Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams. Students work may even be incorporated into Kepware s commercial products or support tools for use by Kepware customers and employees. Kepware offers full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship positions at our headquarters in Portland, Maine. Students focusing in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields, business administration, and liberal arts are encouraged to learn more about our company and the industries we serve.
