The FoCBA is intended to be worn by Soldiers in Law enforcement, correction and confinement facilities, and personnel conducting intelligence operations Capabilities: FoCBA will offers maximum concealable torso coverage for ballistics; 9mm FMJ, 357 and 44 MAG Protection per Army Protocol (similar to NIJ ) and Stab protection edge blade and spike (NIJ ) MS C Pre-Production Improvements Type 1 Ballistics Level IIIA/ Stab Level 1 Type 2 Stab-only Level JUN OCT 2013 First Prototypes evaluated for DT/LUT restricted range of motion, too bulky and interfered with duty belt HFE 1 demonstrated minimal improvements in range of motion and still restrictive, bulky and interfering with duty belt Type 1 Ballistics Level IIIA/ Stab Level 1 31 JAN 2014 Type 2 Stab-only Level 3 ECP incorporated design improvements for AoC that reduced weight and improved range of motion, comfort and fit Based on User feedback incorporating 2 nd ECP for outer tactical cover into production Flexible acquisition strategy allowed for modifications of design for final production deliveries based on continuous user feedback 5

It consists of a modular enhanced combat helmet with a retention, suspension system and ballistic NAPE pad. The ECH provides improved ballistic and fragmentation protection while providing necessary blunt impact protection and stability greater than or equal to current ACHs at similar weight. Capabilities: 50% increase in fragmentation protection Increased 9mm protection Provides limited rifle protection Vendor: 3M Subsidiary Ceradyne, Inc.
